Xiaolan beamed; of course he was right! After all, almost nothing could elude his keen eyes. This sentiment of pride was only bolstered further by Megis who manifested his interest in acquiring the submarine. The transaction was... different from what Xiaolan initially imagined. Charron was knocked out and sent flying across the control room with a mean punch from his friend! Immediately, Xiaolan dropped his disguise and cackled.
"Oh, I see now: We do a daring escape?" Bingo. Megis tossed the key to Xiaolan, which he swiftly caught mid-air before running over to Charron. "Sorry for this, bud, but you seem like the kind of guy who had a long and fulfilling life." It always felt terrible to end a life with no hit on it, but the urgency of the situation kinda forced his hand. The fox grabbed the captain by the collar, yanked him up, then swiftly moved behind him to headlock his limp body. "I need to gleam into what you know about this ship..."
*CRACK*
Xiaolan swiftly snapped the captain's neck, twisting his head sideways in an unnatural position. With a sigh, the fox allowed the lifeless body to meet the cold floor. He stooped over it, ensuring that the eyelids were close before doing what seemed to be like a mouth-to-mouth resurrection. Xiaolan's constantly narrow slits for eyes shot open, revealing two pools of jade that basked the room in a blinding glow. A loud slurping sound followed, then the intense green light subsided once the feeding kitsune closed his eyes. Megis only caught a glimpse of the soul in the form of some ethereal, gossamer substance that Xiaolan wiped off his chin. The stringy stuff twirled upward in the air like firebrands before abruptly dying out. Xiaolan coughed violently, bumping his chest with a clenched fist.
"Oh, yeah, I had an intuition that he wasn't a clean dude; rarely have I tasted a soul so freaking abj-" His cheeks ballooned out and eyes watered, almost as if he was on the verge of puking. Xiaolan mustered his wits and stood up, stumbling over to the main control panel like a drunken sailor. "Let's see how this works." The fox scrunched up his muzzle and furrowed his brow, trying to focus his conscience beyond his own self to tap into the knowledge of the soul he just feasted on.
"Maybe... this?" He pulled down a lever. The entire structure of the submarine shook; no matter what Xiaolan just did, it caused some movement. "We should be underwater now, Mister Megis. I must admit: I have almost no ideas of what I am doing." Xiaolan growled, trying his best to find a solution to their conundrum. "This is a modern submarine and we're within a sub-system of the cave that doesn't directly lead into the sea. Let's try to... mh, there should be some form of autopilot somewhere." After carefully inspecting the interface, Xiaolan found a space where coordinates were located. He flipped a switch, pressed the space on the screen, then a prompt popped open.
"Dammit, of course it wouldn't be like a GPS. Ugh, I have to enter the coordinates. How do I..." He had a cellphone, didn't he now? Xiaolan grabbed it from his pocket and opened the map application, searching a spot relatively close to home in the Papayan coast and entered its coordinates in the prompt before pressing the green checkmark. Once again, the submarine came to life. The sudden burst of movement knocked Xiaolan on his ass. "Urgh- Let's hope that they notice the disappearance of their submarine and captain only tomorrow." Very, very wishful thinking. Only thing to do now was to trust the submarine's sensors and hope that a violent collision wouldn't spell the premature end of their journey.
