Power to the People (Kyten)

Fortunately, Kyten was able to be found relatively quickly through his intrusions. Though the insectile creation had no idea what Megis was doing, or how he was speaking in his mind, he first viewed the arena from the sky to ensure that Megis was indeed there. Upon seeing the pink figure, he descended swiftly to meet the presidential hopeful. Not so fast as to appear a threat to any strangers who happened to see him, but fast enough that he did not waste his time.

"I am here. I see you have changed, as you said." Kyten announced as he landed, feet touching the ground lightly. Ordinarily, such a drastic growth would have been far more surprising and perhaps concerning. However, whatever species Megis was, it was far from ordinary or conventional. Maybe his nature as a constructed being had some part in that as well; the computers mentioned that Kyten may undergo rapid changes over time, though they were decidedly vague about what form those changes would take. He had yet to go through any such changes or growth so far, so there was little need to worry about that hypothetical. "If you feel that we should train, then I am willing to."

Supposedly, many grew stronger by training, and locations like these tournament grounds were where those who did so liked to gather. Kyten had little reference for whether this was more efficient than simply devouring the Megafauna of Earth, but he was willing to try. Megis was right, they would both need to be stronger to handle future threats. Moreover, of those he knew, he was more confident in training against Megis, given the creation's regenerative nature. He had already injured him once, but fortunately not to any lasting effect.

"Please, make sure you are prepared this time." As usual, there was no insincerity in Kyten's words, merely mild concern. He stood ready, his wings splayed out behind him in case he had to move. His entire body was ready for combat, as Megis presumably wanted. He had managed to take Megis out with what was practically a sneak attack last time, so he had little reference for how the fellow creation actually fought. Hopefully, Megis could actually manage him in a fight.

Kyten gave a simple nod to Megis as he confirmed the assumption. "I understand that we all need to grow stronger. I simply have not been able to test whether training is the most efficient way to do so." This might have been more efficient than gaining biomass, but the creation had simply yet to try. As Megis mentioned how he had grown and how he wanted to at least attack once, Kyten wondered if the growth was a sign of Megis's increased strength, but did not dwell on the subject.


Kyten had little experience fighting people and no experience sparring. The few sentient people he had fought were only in the loosest definition of the term, given how much weaker than him they were. That said, he felt that he knew how to fight. In a real fight, he figured focusing solely on hitting as hard as possible would be unlikely to work unless you greatly outclassed your foe, and evasion was preferred until you could find openings. This worked fine for his typical targets, though they were significantly slower and larger than Megis.

Truthfully, Kyten did not know if such tactics were necessary against the dinosaurs, but they felt correct. It was the same here, where the evasion was followed by a swift reaction.

Kyten listened as Megis told him the importance of training, rather insistent on the subject. "I see." He announced with another nod. With how insistent Megis was, he was likely knowledgeable on the subject. Though he still had no personal reference for the efficiency, he was willing to trust Megis on this. If this was how Megis had gotten so strong, it stood to reason that he could possibly grow similarly by training. There was simply one issue he knew of. Said issue was one that Megis brought up himself, that of intent.

"I understand that. Hopefully, there won't be any problems, but I hope that you will tell me if I do something wrong." That was his main concern, but fortunately, there were no immediate issues. It was difficult to say where he would find others who could safely train with him, but at least for now, he was fine. He didn't have any plans to try and kill while sparring, but there were many things that he did not understand about himself. Sometimes, his body felt like reacting on its own.

Yet again, there was telegraphing to his opponent's actions, but this time, it wasn't clear what Megis was doing. The prior attack at least had the basis of a two-footed kick, but he had no idea what Megis' odd body was capable of. Naturally, he was caught off guard as the elastic body slingshotted towards him. The insectile creation was caught directly by the slam, tumbling out of the air and landing hard on the ground.

Again, Megis made full contact, having caught up too quickly for Kyten to react. Where he was able to recover easily enough before landing, this one outright knocked him out of the air. For a moment, the creation's body abruptly tumbled across the tournament grounds, landing in a heap and taking a few seconds to recover this time. As he rose from the ground, large eyes glared at Megis. Something resembling confusion flashed across the creation's face despite its lack of complex features.

Being struck was a strange feeling. Kyten had scarcely been struck by the few that tried to fight him, and never had they caused meaningful harm. Megis' last two attacks were far more powerful than his prior adversaries' efforts. They hurt. They actually hurt. More than a passing scratch to be ignored in seconds, the pain lingered as he rose to stand. Within his mind, a part of him demanded an extreme response. He knew that he couldn't take too many hits like that. That someone harmed him, that someone had both the capability and will to do so, that demanded a reaction. He'd retaliated severely for less.

Yet, Kyten refused to go so far. He had willingly chosen to participate in this. This was for his benefit, not some unprompted attack. Moreover, Megis was an important figure, and harming him shouldn't be done without outstanding reason. He, presumably, knew what he was doing far better than Kyten did. He expected that Megis could restrain himself, somewhat, so long as Kyten remained somewhat restrained.

So, he only had to respond in turn.

Kyten stand properly, before abruptly flying close to Megis. Once next to him, the bug's arm lunged forward in a punching motion; the claws were still there, but the creation ensured they were in something of a closed position, such that only the blunt back of those claws should strike as he punched forward. He wasn't trying to drive through Megis this time, though how successful he was in this goal remained in question. Perhaps this was too forceful for most to handle, but Megis wasn't most. His earlier attacks told him that already, even if his oddly stretchy body hadn't already.

More than unhappy about the situation, Kyten was confused; he was sure he'd closed his hand to avoid piercing, and that he shouldn't have punched hard enough to go through Megis via force alone. Yet, the arm went through the pink being regardless. Had he still punched with too much force? Was Megis's body simply oddly fragile? Had he failed to keep the claws from striking properly?

Ultimately, it didn't matter the reason. Yet again, Kyten had struck through Megis, even while he was supposedly prepared. His arm swiftly returned to a base position, as he looked at the Majin he had once again felled with what he could only assume was excessive force.

"Are you okay?" Kyten asked bluntly, looking down at the fallen Majin. His mind wouldn't allow his guard to loosen, but based on Megis's position, the attempted practice had come to an abrupt halt.

After a moment with no response, Kyten propped the motionless body to the side, out of the way in case anyone came along. "Perhaps it would be better to find someone else to do this with," Kyten announced bluntly, looking down at the fallen Megis before flying away. Maybe Megis' body was simply not a good match to practice against, given his own body. His restorative features would provide some room for accidentally excessive force, though optimally, that wouldn't have been necessary.

Kyten ultimately couldn't understand what happened here, what the purpose behind any of this could have been. Perhaps someone could tell him, but he couldn't know now there was at least one person he could consider asking, though he did not know where to find him...
