Gandigan's blood was hot. Even after his excursion to Konats, he had been thinking on the last encounter with Shroom. The sort of abilities he saw the Dragon display... they were too much to be left unchecked. The little bastard's magic may even be greater than Nero's, though he would rather not think about that possibility. It was a shame to let such abilities go to waste, but Shroom had forced his hand; everything he did was something that Shroom could have avoided.
The only problem now was finding him. Treses had told him that Shroom lived somewhere in the Outer Plait, but that wasn't exactly a detailed explanation. The last time he had wanted to meet up with Shroom he only needed to offer the invitation, and with how things ended he didn't expect that would work again. He had just a single clue to work with: underground.
Several times Shroom had referred to Gandigan and the others as 'surface' people, which implied that he was from the underground. There were many different caves in the Outer Plait however, and Gandigan was going to have to search them all if he wanted to find Shroom. But the Mazoku had nothing but time on his hands, and this would make for good training. Though Gandigan preferred not to go for direct combat. Despite the difference in power he was weary of mages.
He knew what sort of tricks they could play, and that they didn't need great power levels to pull them off. The last time they meet Gandigan thought he could strike at Shroom while he was asleep, protecting himself from retaliation, but that failed. He would pray to Porunga that he could catch Shroom off guard, and perhaps strike from a safe distance. He didn't need his mind being invaded again...
So Gandigan combed the Outer Plait, ducking into every cave he came across, waiting for the one that would lead him to something deeper. For the most part he ignored whatever powers he sensed, knowing that Shroom would be playing some trick on him. A large cave not too far from the Capax people presented promise to Gandigan, who crawled in with his power level suppressed, hoping to catch anyone inside off guard.
