THE LIE IN THE LEGEND

News of what had happened over Hatchi City was entirely unwelcome, yet somehow unsurprising. She had heard that Lottus had defied the grave only days after she had learned he had perished to begin with, and she supposed someone who carried the past on his shoulders as heavily as he did was inevitably prone to trying to carry out the same tired scheme again and again. She still wasn't sure of everything that had happened in the battle, and she wasn't sure how much she cared. Hatchi was still in one piece, and so was the Kingdom. Everything else was noise to her.
She didn't bother to secure clearance to speak with Lottus. If they had of told her no, she would have come anyways--so it was better to just take action and deal with the consequences without adding the risk of disobeying a direct order on top of that. Ordinarily that wouldn't have concerned her much, but some semblance of unity was important given the grand moves being made in the political sphere away from Plant.
After swiping her rank badge to disable the alarm system, she pried the door open and stepped inside. She was certain Lottus would be restrained, but even if he wasn't--she was more than a match for him these days. Their next battle, whenever that would be and however real it would be this time, would have a very different outcome to their last.
She stood in the doorway, hand atop the hilt of her sword. A heavy, weighted white cloak hung over her shoulders, concealing one arm, while the breath mask she had been wearing off-and-on since Hatchi City was seated in place over her jaw. Otherwise, she had recovered from that battle without incident, and from what she could tell, she was in a much better state than Lottus was.
She didn't know how to address someone like Lottus, given the short but troubled history they had. But, she wasn't about to let him have the first word.
"It sounds like the Legendary Super Saiyan lost again," she said, keeping her tone icy. "Were you coherent this time?"
