"It's alright, don't worry about it. Control is something you don't always have even after training for a long time."
"Speaking of control, can any of you wrap ki around yourself to stick to surfaces? I picked it up in the circus. There, I used it for tight rope walking. Out here I'm finding new uses for it every day. I bet I can hang upside down like a bat, never tried that though...Oh and I can teleport too!" It was obvious the modesty was not her strong suit.
"I'm curious about how you fight, too. Do you use lightning the same way that most use ki?" Kyten sat still, head slowly tilting as he pondered his own question. There wasn't any inherent desire for him to fight her for a number of reasons. It was simply another thing he was curious about. It seemed there was no shortage of such things here.
She got audibly more excited upon hearing his question. "Only one way to find out!" If asking to fight was rude, manners were not her strong suit either! "I'm curious about seeing all of you fight. You most of all." she looked at Sentia. "Don't worry about hurting me. I'm one of the toughest humans I know, even tougher than our strong man back at the circus! I fought in a Tenkaichi Budokai tournament once. I lost my first match, but I was told even being in it was a testament to my toughness as well as my ability. I've traveled all over the world and fought more interresting people since then. I consider every one of them my friends! I'll try not to hurt you though." There was that world famous modesty again.
Sentia was all too happy to address the few questions that her strange new friend threw her way. After all, in her hundred years of tenure as a Kai, Otherworld had to be the place she knew the most about. Far more than Earth or these fleshy mortal creatures before her. She strode towards the insectoid and threw her arms wide as she launched into explanation.
"Otherworld is relegated to the dead and those who watch over them, but that doesn't mean mortals can't go there. It's not easy to do but you absolutely can. Especially if a Shinjin like myself directly leads a mortal there. I can teleport between realms and bring whoever I please. To be honest, I'm not too familiar with the rules of the dead. My job is to watch over the living, like you lovely people! If I had to guess, you have a soul because you're alive. It's simple but beautiful, no? Though the fact I can't sense you is so strange. That's really what stumps me, since it's like you're missing the vital spark that shows almost everyone is alive. No offense, of course!"
Finished dumping as much of her knowledge as she could, she ceased her gesticulating. Turning her head to Rei instead, who posed a very intriguing question, the Kai rubbed her chin in thought. Would it be wrong to show off her godly powers so readily? It couldn't hurt, it would help her understand the prowess of mortals a bit better. Thinking on her mentor's words though, she shook her head.
"Sorry, but my fighting powers are a secret.~ I should only bring them out to help those in trouble and harm evildoers, understand? Showing them off willy-nilly would be bad for the reputation of the Kais." She shrugged her shoulders to emphasize that if it was up to her, she'd do differently. Her smile never wavered for a second though, quickly pointing in Cele's direction.
"How about him? He's being trained by me. His techniques have a bit of my special style behind them. Plus, he's a Saiyan. A true warrior who learns in the heat of battle!" The boy looked a bit nonplussed about the choice to bring him into this but he quickly shook it off, putting on a weak smile instead. His tail swished in excitement, taking a battle stance already.
"If you're okay with it, I'd love to spar. I need to get stronger and her methods are really slow."
Sentia's eyes landed on Kyten, wondering how he felt about this sudden development. After all, he had seemed quite polite so far. This sudden bout between friends was normal for martial artists and the gods. But what of him? Cele's PL: 11,000 WC: 454 TWC: 2085
As the large-eyed creation silently nodded along. So others could visit Otherworld. Maybe there were ways to visit it without aid, but he doubted she'd need to know them. Something to look into, regardless.
Though the talk of souls wasn't inherently reassuring, the reason for her confusion brought a moment of thought before he recalled a likely explanation.
"Ah. I think I know what it is, somewhat. The computers said that I was made to be naturally good at hiding myself from others. They didn't tell me how or why, but I assume that's why you can't sense... something. I could be wrong, though." He had never gotten any feedback about that inherent ability, as it was a simple part of him that he could not notice. If what she said was true, then he knew that aspect functioned on some level. Not that it gave him any reference for how it worked, but he could take solace in the fact that it was doing something. Whether it had mattered until now was another question, but not something to be worried about.
Though he should have expected the interest to be somewhat mutual, Kyten was caught off guard by how enthusiastically the Reigun reacted. Moreover, he was surprised by how seemingly ready the human was to fight herself. The creation's question was of idle curiosity, brought upon by the Saiyan's own, not any request for a battle. The Saiyan's reaction to the offer was far less surprising; the computers focused on them more than most races, so he knew a decent amount about them. Not to an exhaustive or exclusive degree, but enough that he knew Saiyans held a reverence for strength and combat. Combat came naturally to them, generally.
For Kyten, fighting so far was to be done for protection or killing, and the former could easily lead to the latter. The Otherworlder had a different reason to refuse, speaking of only using her power for harming evil and guarding the innocent. While the reasoning and severity differed, the end result was the same. Neither of them felt they should fight flippantly. Logically, he had no reason to fight here, especially with those he considered friends.
Yet, Kyten was still curious. Both about how they fought and if fighting could inform him why Reigun found it so fun. Some small part of him was oddly interested in the idea too, but not enough to get ahead of himself. Perhaps it was something in his creation, he hadn't been given all the details behind that. The insectoid stayed silent for a moment before responding.
"I think you two should go first. Three of us fighting at once will probably end up a mess." A clawed hand remained near Kyten's chin in something that approached a thinking posture. He knew it would likely disappoint them if he did nothing but watch, and it was possible they'd see through the excuse, but he wanted to be sure of himself before fighting them. Mostly, he wasn't confident in his own restraint, and knowing nothing of their strength meant things could go very badly. The girl assured them she was strong, but it could be simple bragging. Seeing them fight would alleviate that doubt, or confirm that he shouldn't be fighting them. Either way, there was no harm in waiting this way.
"Sorry, but my fighting powers are a secret.~ I should only bring them out to help those in trouble and harm evildoers, understand? Showing them off willy-nilly would be bad for the reputation of the Kais."
"Suit yourself, Sentia. I think I might understand a little, but probably not completely. That's ok, though."
"If you're okay with it, I'd love to spar. I need to get stronger and her methods are really slow."
"I don't mind at all. I've fought Saiyans before. One of them offered to show me the stars, but that never happened. I think my opponent at the tournament I was in was a Saiyan. Saiyans never disappoint as far as fighting. From my experience, they are ready to go when I am ready to throw in the towel. Anyway. We should go out into this field here, further from the road in case someone passes by. We wouldn't want bystanders to get hurt. You two are more than welcome to watch. Maybe you will find it enlightening."
Reigun went into the middle of the field and assumed a fighting stance. One arm was extended in front of her, the other behind her. The one in front of her was clenched. The other was open. She leaned forward slightly. She opened the one in front and waved her fingers at Cele, as she smiled.
"Also, since you come from the afterlife, can anyone go to Otherworld? Or is it only for the dead and those like you?"
"You'd think anyone can go to the underworld...somehow. Maybe if Sentia takes them?"
"...It's alright. Just try to be careful about that, okay? You could hurt someone like that, and they might not be as understanding afterwards."
"Hey, don't worry Kyten. I got my emotions under control, ya know?"
"I'm curious about how you fight, too. Do you use lightning the same way that most use ki?"
"As far as I know from talking to others and from fighting, yeah, it seems like it!"
"Ok here we go Cele, bring it! Don't hold back!" Reigun blinks as Sentia looks as though she got a call, without having a phonel, like telepathy. Angel business, Rei supposed. Sentia mumbled somethihng about having to go and flew off. Cele looks at Reigun and back at Sentia and shrugs just before flying after her.
"I guess its just you and me, bug man. Don't suppose you're changing your mind about fighting me?" Reigun does some stretching... arms, legs, torso, head... with some flexing and knuckle and neck cracking added too.
Though Kyten wasn't sure why Cele couldn't fight Reigun, whatever Sentia was called for seemed important. Regardless, it left Kyten with the awkward issue of actually addressing the question of a battle. It seemed he couldn't put it off, and had to actually address the subject.
"...I'm sorry, but no. I know you want to fight, I know you want to see what I can do, and I'm sorry, but I won't fight you. I don't want to fight you." For once, the smile faded into something akin to a truly neutral expression, all but vanishing as his mouth shut. Part of him was curious to fight, part of him wanted to try and see what the fight could be like, a more casual fight. But he couldn't. It felt wrong to try and fight a friend like this, to possibly hurt a friend like this. He didn't trust his restraint. He didn't trust himself. He always felt... different when he was fighting. When he was attacking others. Neither better nor worse, but notably different. He didn't know how or why, but he was.
"It was nice meeting you." He added bluntly as he stood, before abruptly flying away without giving any chance to respond. He flew away from this awkward moment, away from the discomfort. Perhaps, had Cele fought first, he may have been willing to fight. But that hadn't happened, and his worries weren't alleviated. He didn't like leaving like this, but the awkward feelings about the situation would only grow the longer he stayed. In his mind, he knew that it was or the best. The best for her safety. The best for himself, so he would not attack a friend.
Kyten did not like it. His mind told him it was right to do this. It was an intrinsic feeling. So why was he so unsatisfied by this?
Kyten EXITS, rather than try to salvage the awkward situation.
"It was nice meeting you." "You too," Reigun responeded automatically. Reigun didn't expect Kyten to change his mind. He seemed pretty resolute and his logic seemed reasonable. He/him? Reigun never inquired as to what pronouns Kyten prefered. "Hmmm...I guess it's time to move on." This was a nice place to spend a day. Reigun couldn't help but to wonder where the wind would take her next... well hopefully somewhere that she could get herself a bite to eat. She got back to the road and saw a truick about to go by. She had no idea where it was heading and didn't really care. She used a ki blast and jump at the same time to end up with a ki boosted jump and then used her ki control and attached her ki to it. She landed on it and used her ki control again to keep from falling off. It took no effort and she didn't notice it being at all taxing for her thanks to her training. She had done it all so many times that it was all second nature to her. Going forward, she would have to train more so her electrical powers don't coincide with her emotions.
