Super Friends

Nasu let his eyes remain closed. He did not know why, but he always enjoyed keeping those eyes of his closed, so that he could keep his gaze rested and lurking within the shadows of his own perception. It made him relax, made everything feel… smaller, insignificant, that no matter where he could be now, he did not have to worry about the bigger picture and instead he could perhaps just focus on what was currently taking place under his very nose. Ah, who was he kidding… day by day it was becoming simply impossible.

There was a vast galaxy, full of trouble at any time and Nasu could not be anywhere. It was simply impossible, not too much to ask. Therefore, if he could find a small amount of comfort in just closing his eyes, even for just a minute, he would take it. Eventually steps began to fill and vibrate within his eardrums, someone was approaching. Said individual happened to be the one he was curious to meet in the end, he did not recognize the voice but once he let his gaze rest upon the fellow Saiyan he recognized her from the earlier bout he was witnessing.

“Hello. I am afraid not. I was preoccupied with something else during the sign ups.”

It would have likely been weird telling people he walked amongst the dead at the time. So, this had to do. Eventually the cape swung away when he extended his bandaged hand towards the stranger.

“I am Nasu. Pleased to meet you.”

Of course whether she would take it or not in the end he would unveil the true purpose as to why he chose to meet her, not so much just to meet a fellow strong Saiyan but rather there was a matter that interested him greatly. The power that he had briefly felt and witnessed was concerning, simply because he wondered if the time had already struck; were people finally reaching up to the next dimension? If so, the universe had made its turn to balance itself… a dangerous occurrence, given the danger that the wrong kind of people could tap into a power greater than most.

“Say, how long have you been a Super Saiyan?”

Of course the entire secrecy element behind his new responsibilities was something that Nasu chose not to shy away from just yet, at least not until he would know what to do with it better. Not to mention, he knew what a fighter was; he knew many would likely approach him just for his teachings, he wished to keep something of this caliber pure and true, so that only the worthy would indeed come before him to learn a greater power.

Besides, it was probably weird to say that he had been walking among the dead for the last month or so. Now Nasu had a different perspective, but this was the first time he had seen another Super Saiyan in a while since the attack on Hatchi, this could have been a good opportunity to start building up some new friends and allies.

“Zhalla. Very well. I could not join the tournament but I am a regular in this world. I can not say I have chosen to live here just yet. I just can not seem to stay in one place at all.”

It was always a funny sensation. When the man thought about going somewhere else entirely, it was like a candle had just been lit up in the middle of a dark room and there he simply followed that instinct all the way to where it brought him. He was not going too far. This part of the galaxy is where he needed to be at the moment.

“Just in time. I have arrived not too long ago.”

Nasu knew that the transition was not smooth by any chance. He could not say it was instantaneous for him either, but he had gotten used to it, at least to the point where he could freely access the form at will without having his mood swung all over the place. It was an intense training around the Scar, upon some of the most ferocious ground Namek had to offer that he stressed the form hard enough.

When she asked the reasons behind his question, he was not too sure how to answer. So he just turned around, put some distance away and once more he turned, his cape swung behind him as he did so, but his eyes were already lit in vibrant emerald flames, when he put enough stress all the way within himself his power began to overwhelmingly draw without, not a few seconds passed before he roared and shined in the golden light.

“As you can see I know a thing or two about Super Saiyans. You seem to be a good hearted warrior and while I have not completely mastered this power myself, maybe I can help you out. What do you say?”

Nasu nodded somewhat. Indeed the man had some manner of history with the planet, even if it was some kind of rocky start given the fact the first time he stepped foot here, well there was some weird stuff going on and all that. Of course most of it was just history now, but it did happen.

“Quite. I would say I am a regular here. I would not mind getting my own place here to just sit back and relax when I am not dealing with trouble off world.”

He said, light heartedly so he did not actually mean it, or perhaps he was somewhat serious about it. Truth be told he did always come back here in the end when he was done traveling across the cosmos, taking care of the conflicts that popped left and right. Of course he was not realistically anywhere, mostly he followed the lead of his good friends and made sure he could assist them to the best of his potential.

Of course instead the news of his transformation was quite welcome, just like he expected. He saw Zhalla’s fight and he could see that she was not quite… in control? He was not sure how to describe it but just like Lottus and Nasu managed to wield the power, he was pretty sure this young woman could without any kind of stress.

“I did. Because I achieved this form a handful of months ago. I have dedicated every waking moment until now to training with it. I am not sure if you could say I mastered it, but I am definitely comfortable using the form now.”

Nasu gestured her to follow him, to try and get away from the tournament grounds to prevent any sort of collateral damage.

“There is not a secret way to master it, of course. But I can lead you down the right path. So far, how have you been transforming? What is the process you follow?”

There was always trouble off world, indeed. There was of course no idea that soon Nasu would end up having to ask Zhalla for help as well, but it was some funny foreshadowing for sure. Not to mention that in the end there was always something that was true about Namek; whenever you were here, you could feel like you were at peace. At least when the villain of the week did not try destroying the planet or something like that. Sadly occurrences like that happened here too, but no place was perfect right?

“Yeah. I will be back, definitely. I have good friends here. I do not see them often, but I am happy enough hanging around.”

Zhalla did point out that Nasu was indeed very committed to trying to understand and use the power to its fullest. Of course, for most Saiyans there did not have to be a reason but the man mostly took it as a precaution because he felt like there had to be some sort of rush to achieve mastery over the form… otherwise things would turn quite sore.

“A godlike entity once explained to me how the universe is all connected. Just like we have achieved this power, other people will discover something similar. It is best we get the upper advantage on people that will do something wrong with this kind of power. It is our responsibility.”

He gave a confused stare until he suddenly realized; of course, there was the tournament. Ah, damn. This was quite silly. Hopefully he did not take too much time that she would end up getting disqualified or something. He nodded, very quickly and somewhat distressed.

“Ah my bad. I was too focused on you being a Super Saiyan honestly. Right. Yes, of course I will pass by Namek. I already do it very often. So don’t worry. You look out for my signature when you are available and we will get some training done.”

Zhalla described her process, and it was a good way to start. The man thought he could at least give her a few more pointers, and thus he raised a quick index finger.

“Do that, but also try to do it… randomly. When you are watching something, or eating. You need to get the hang of it without having to prepare yourself fully beforehand. Do that for some time, and we will get some actual training whenever you can.”

Nasu smiled, his hair soon returned to normal, he had let go of the power and returned to his regular form. Then he saluted her shortly.

“I will be on my way to see if I run into some friends. You go on ahead and keep going with the tournament.”

He stated and after having exchanged farewells, he would raise into the air and explore far into the distance.
