It had only been about an hour since Patch's defeat at the hands of Russ in the tournament. The final blow had shocked his system and forced a reboot, and the engineers on site had to weld him back together and refill his coolant, but all in all he was no worse for wear, apart from a new bit of scrap metal affixed to his chest to cover the wound. It seemed that the tournament's repair crew were unfamiliar with his design, and had just used whatever they had lying around to fix him up. It wasn't perfect but the Android couldn't exactly blame them, even he wasn't quite familiar with his design, given that strange 'Overdrive Protocol' that had apparently powered him up shortly before the end of his match.
He didn't have much memory to devote to solving that little puzzle right at this moment however. There was a far more pressing issue at hand. He had hitchhiked his way to Namek without permission and though he had theorised he could hitch a ride back he'd heard rumour that the people whom had unwittingly flown him here did not plan to return to Earth. Without a ship of his own, he had no way home. He inwardly cursed the short sightedness of his calculations for not accounting for organic error. Yet he knew that standing around blaming himself was not going to be of any use. Instead he decided to explore one of the forests of Namek, maybe take some scans and hope a solution presented itself.
He had theorised of course that his best bet would be talking to the other tournament contenders and asking if any of them could give him a lift back to Earth. Yet he had also theorised that after his failure in his own round of combat most of them would not want to associate with him, especially since he assumed it was obvious his opponent had spent the round merely playing with him.
So that was why he found himself walking curiously through Guru's forest. His power suppressed to the level of a normal human so that he could experience the sights as a human would. His oculars narrowed and took many scans of the flore and fauna as he walked. Yet, distracted as he was, he didn't quite notice a bit of unstable ground just in front of him, at least not until it crumbled and he went tumbling haphazardly into a pit.
Patch hit his head hard on something as he fell. He didn't feel it because he doesn't feel pain, but he knew it was there. Soon he fell to the bottom of the small pit with a definitive THUD. His face down in the dirt for a few moments. Shaking it off he stood and looked around, his ocular's activating a small but powerful flashlight as he tried to get a baring on his surroundings. He knew he was down a hole, and in that hole appeared to be a large structure of some kind, though he was having trouble making it out exactly.
Outside of the pit, the loud CLANG of metal hitting metal would've been quite audible to anyone that happened to be nearby.
