Alien Prowess: Extraterrestrial - Twice per thread, you may add a sparking variant to a non-sparking technique. Techniques cannot have more than two variants at a time.
Alien Sturdiness: Durability - Once per thread, after all other damage reductions, reduce an incoming attack's power by an additional 40%.
Optional Trait: Kinetic Genetics - Once per thread, you may use a free 30% defensive technique with the unique 'absorber' variant. If the barrier remains unbroken, you gain 1 KP.
GENERAL TRAITS: Antisense - Your ki is invisible to energy sensing and scouters, even in the midst of combat - this can be toggled on and off. In addition, escape techniques have a boost of +20% to their total effectiveness and your first escape technique per thread costs no KP.
Vampiric - Once per thread, you may designate a Standard Attack as ‘Vampiric.’ If this attack deals any damage, you choose to recover 1 KP or 10% HP.

BACKGROUND: The rumors around the galaxy claim that his birth name is Maciel, but everybody at this point knows him as Barracuda. On Gemoon, the planet he's originally from, Barracuda made a name as one of the most homicidal, suicidal, genocidal bounty hunters there ever was. Nobody was hungrier for money and conquest than Cuda's Clan. The mention of his name struck fear into the hearts of many. But upon the death of his troupe in an interplanetary war, the loss of his wife and child, and years of battling with the traumas he's suffered and administered, self reflection has sent Barracuda on an entirely new path.
Losing his child in a senseless act of violence from an enemy gang truly made him realize the err of his ways. He had killed many, and pillaged many a town, country and planet without thinking twice. Losing his troupe opened a wound. Losing his wife poured salt deep into that wound, and made it irreparable. But the crippling pain that came along with seeing an infant of his own flesh and blood taken from it's consciousness was enough to make Barracuda renounce the destruction he had come to be known for.
Of course a chill of detestation runs down his spine at the thought of those who carry out selfish brutality in the ways he used to. But Barracuda knows he is only in control of himself at the end of the day, and has made it a goal of his to not waste his energy judging others. While this is a goal, it is not yet a completed one by any means.
He spent years doing the work of what Earthlings would consider a monk, honing his spiritual abilities to connect with the God of the Gemoons, known as Source*. Isolation, meditation, studies of the historic mystery knowledge of not only his own planet, but of many others, has lead Barracuda to a more righteous way of existence, now being able to use all the trickster skills he'd learned throughout his years for better means. He's in no rush to be anyone's hero or save the world, but he feels he must master himself, use his abilities and evolve in the name of Source.
These days he's found himself on an excavation to Earth, a place where he can lie low, continue his studies and test his will against the strongest in the lands while finding less nefarious means to make a living.
*On Gemoon, instead of using the term "God" as most Earthlings would, they use the word "Source." Nobody knows what Source looks like (if Source can even be perceived in this way), but Source is believed to be the energy that flows through all living things, and guides the journeys of all beings.
TECHNIQUES: You start with Three Standard Technique Slots and One Sparking Slot that you can use any way you like. Some species start out with additional slots, or access to certain slot-based abilities for free. You also start with two additional Utility Technique Slots.

Light Attack Technique || Phantom RushLearned long ago, when Barracuda began his escapades as a bounty hunter, the Phantom Rush is an artful flurry of punches and kicks intertwined with ki, supported by his sword which levitates and completes the graceful barrage.Power: 20 %KP Cost: 2 KPVariants: Bleed2. Support Technique || The Great Central SunYou release a blinding flash of light, replicating the sun's rays. This allows you to attempt to escape any thread or travel between splits in an Action Thread more safely. This technique valued at 60% of your total power and requires 2 KP to use. In order to stop you, a player must use an attack that is superior in power to your Great Central Sun. You cannot undo your escape via Great Central Sun if you are successful, but you can use KP to defend if it is overcome.3. Medium Defense Technique || Mikael’s PrayerBarracuda surrounds himself with anywhere between 20 and 50 swords of ultraviolet ki that first rotate in various directions. They eventually converge and create an energy barrier, rendering the target shielded.Power: 30 %KP Cost: 3 KPVariants: ReflectiveSPARKING: Heavy Attack Technique || LightmareBarracuda simultaneously shoots seven iridescent zero-point-energy infused ki blasts at hyperspeed towards the enemy, representing the seven chakras. Once they intersect with the target’s energy field, and even moreso once they land upon the target — they not only intensely burn and cause incredible physical damage, it's rumored that if the opponent is mentally vulnerable enough, the Lightmare brings forth their fears and deepest traumas, overloading their nervous system.Power: 110%KP Cost: 5 KPVariants: Overflowing1. Utility Technique || FlightBy some means, usually through a skillful application of your ki, you are able to fly through the air.2.
