Vigil was not blessed with the great sight that many of his elders possessed. From above the clouds they would often look down upon the mortals, judging from afar. Many took this one step too far, travelling beyond their realm so that they could touch the forbidden fruit of the mortal worlds. Vigil abstained, having no interest in the realm below, but now being tasked to track down those vicious heretics he was left with little choice. Lacking the far sight of his kin he instead would have to sniff out these blights one rumor at a time.
Sightings of Shinjin and Oni were unfortunately more common than he expected, giving Vigil several potential avenues to explore. While on his travels he came across a small pirate operation located on an outer moon. He quickly descended upon the scum, holding them in stasis while he extracted what he needed. He was told a particularly dangerous story of a powerful Demon on Konats, who's deeds were so vile they gave Vigil pause.
Although the primary concerns of his elders were tracking down other Shinjin, mainly a terrible group helmed by a warrior named Cyprus, Vigil was still interested in dealing with any rogue Demons he came across. Their kind already had a realm of their own, and their polluting presence wasn't appreciated by anyone. From what he had heard from the pirates this 'Kamae' sounded even more dangerous than Cyprus was, perhaps being even more powerful than himself.
As zealous as he was to get rid of his scum, he wasn't foolish enough to rush in like an untamed bull. An investigation would come first, and if need be an emergency call back home could be required. Despite the burden placed on his shoulders Vigil knew he still had brothers who'd be more than happy to test their might against an Oni like Kamae.
Stealing a pod from one of the pirates, Vigil hastily travelled to the planet Konats. It was the first real planet he had stepped foot on that wasn't the Kai home world, and surprisingly it granted some relief of nostalgia. Where in his mind there was once beautiful fauna and flora had nearly matched by this mortal realm, though he still could tell the difference. Vigil parted the dirt beneath him, creating a small pit in which he buried his pod before moving to the nearest settlement.
He could feel a burning hole in the world coming from afar, and right away he knew that it must have been what the pirates had told him about. Thankfully it was in the opposite direction of the town in the distance, giving Vigil an opportunity to learn a little more about what was going on. The bright lights of the town he soon learned was called Lux were far from appealing to the subtle Vigil, who preferred the quiet of home, but if this is where his task took him then he was going to have to get used to being a little uncomfortable.
Vigil wandered around for a bit, looking for a bar which wasn't so loud as the others. Eventually he came across a smaller looking place which seemed like it would suite him fine enough. Making his way inside, Vigil cleared his throat before announcing himself. "Greetings, mortals. My name is Vigil, and I'm looking for anyone who has information on whatever terrible thing has happened to Konats recently; I know that Demons are at work. I'll be willing to pay for any information that helps."
