CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: Vigil stands at 245 centermeters, or around 8 feet tall. He weights in at over 200 kilograms, mostly comprised of muscle. He had light purple/blue skin tone with pure white hair. His face appears aged, though by Kai standards he's still in his prime. He only ever wears his traditional kai clothing, using his magic to create more copies if his own are damaged.
BACKGROUND: The life of the Shinjin is often one of temptation. Though born above the stars in the afterlife, they spend their days often looking down at the mortal realm, contemplating their role in things. It's not unheard offer Shinjin to leave the afterlife to play a more active part, often frowned upon by the elders. Increasingly this has become more common, with little the elders can do to stop them.
Vigil was however was not like this. Not at all. He was quite content with his life above the mortal realm, and even would go as far as to say he would never want to live among the mortals. He had a degree of disdain for their kind, seeing them as foolish and rash, driven by base desires made worse due to such short lives. He preferred to spend his days training among his brothers, or pursuing magical arts.
Vigil had a great interest in the magic, having studied it for many hundreds of years. He saw it as superior to the martial arts which were so popular among the mortals, going so far as to spar against his brothers purely by using magic to try and prove it's superiority. He wasn't also victorious, but he did well enough to earn respect.
He assumed this would be how he'd spend the rest of his days, until one of the elders pulled him aside, dragging him off to one of their groups. As soon as Vigil arrived he knew that something was off, yet they were all hesitant to say anything. Eventually one elder spoke up, asking Vigil what he though of the Shinjin who had left otherworld. Of course he said he did not care for them or what lay beneath other world.
It was then that he was informed that some events had been troubling them. They mentioned names that Vigil had only known in passing, specially Vale and Cyprus. These were names known within legends, yet now the elders would say that they were very real. Apparently they had been locked away for terrible crimes, yet somehow their seal had broken. The elders had sat back while other Shinjin interfered directly on mortals, but now? It had gone too far.
They needed to send someone they could trust down to the mortal realm to bring these Shinjin to justice, and to do what they were unable to. Vigil objected to being involved, but as he was among the most powerful of the Shinjin he was eventually convinced that he must play his part. And so Vigil begrudgingly left other world, descending into the realm of the mortals to protect those whom he had loathed.
