Well, that went better than expected.
It was a rough encounter, physically and emotionally, for both Dion and Kabe as the duo attempted to reel in the corrupted and subsequently manic character of Kay-Bee back into their safe and caring company. To watch as someone so innocent and devoted devolve into something so chaotically inclined was heartbreaking to behold, and even more soul-shattering for the Saiyan whose shoulders carried the entirety of the fault with him. He was simply a son who wanted to do his father proud, and his sickness forced him to suffer so much more than he rightfully have ought to because of it.
Even so, Dion fought on through his guilt. As Amara put it before, life was far too fickle to allow the mistakes one makes to define the future they could forge in light of them. He refused to let the chance to redeem himself slip away through his fingers, and it appeared as though fate appreciated his attempts at refusing to stay down, as the two were eventually able to reign in the eldritch-magicks drenched clone son of Kabe after a hard fought conflict. With the end coming by way of entrapment- Catching Kay-Bee in the very same simulator that constituted his turn toward madness and mania.
And despite not acting as a cure-all solution to the twos' problems, the successful recovery of the Kabe clone son helped to rekindle some of the warmer feelings the Saiyans had for each other at the beginning of their friendship. Whlie he was sure that it would take much more time for the wounds cut in their relationship to be fully healed, Dion was overjoyed to see at the very least that some reformation of what they once had could be built upon and grown back to something even better than before.
A revelation that only helped to embolden the bartender to finally go and do what he had been meaning to do the entire time he's been away.
Apologize to little sister dearest.
And of course, subsequently find Nero. Not only was he the only man potentially fit to combat and perhaps finally eradicate the corruption that laid within Dion's veins, but he was also now the only man who could likely help Kabe do the same with Kay-Bee. He had promised Kabe before departing from his company that he'd find Nero himself and beg for him to assist with Kay-Bee's condition, so if not for him, Dion was prepared to do whatever it took to find the duo for the corrupted clone son of Kabe.
Although this was, much easier said than done- Dion failed to write the address of her humble abode down when he was cooped up in it the day he was nursing his injuries from their initial fight, and it didn't help that every single place on this planet looked the exact same way. Nothing but bright green trees and jazzy blue grass around for miles on end, it seemed.
Still, a determined bastard he was, and so, after what it felt like a few hours of searching (he was sure it was actually closer to a few minutes, but, the obnoxious size of Namek compared to both Plant and Earth made it feel much longer than it ought've), Dion decided to make the rest of the trek on foot. Too much of a risk that he'd fly by and miss something completely obvious that could point him in the direction of the two he was looking for, so, powering down a bit and taking things at a more methodical pace appeard to be the smarter move here.
However, that didn't make the process any less monotonous to deal with- if anything, it likely made the tedium of the time spent searching even worse. Stepping through endless backdrops of green and blue only to find MORE green and blue waiting for him. And while he was sure on a normal day Dion would have appreciated the sights and the consistent scenery of the nature of Namek, today was NOT a normal day.
Frustrated after a little while longer spent searching on foot, Dion fell to his back in a field of wavy blue grass below him. An exasperated sigh leaving his lips as his eyes gazed skyward near (but not at) one of the three giant suns that dotted the sky above him.
Could fate throw him one more bone?
One that, preferably, pointed him in the direction of Nero and Zhalla?
