"Such is the way of mortals I suppose, making grand assumptions based on small amounts of information."
That was likely the first time he had said that feeling so clearly out loud, despite holding onto it tightly. It felt like an itch he desperately wanted to scratch every time, but in each instance he pushed it down and moved on, but perhaps it was partially his recent lack of rest eating at his filter and being back in Otherworld that made him hold back less than he might have normally.
"You all speak so confidently as if you are given a purpose when you are the ones to make your destiny. There is no such thing as one path, one way to do things, that's not what balance dictates. You could decide to pick up a tool and never destroy in this moment, and that would be the path you put yourself on, guided by outside forces perhaps, but your decision and your path."
Holding up his hand a single red line appeared from the ground until it stopped, hitting what looked like a poorly drawn version of Lottus.
"This has been your path so far, this existence as you referred to it as, sowing destruction. It was caused by outside forced and your own decisions."
Moving it, a second blue line moved up hitting what was an equally poor looking version of Ward.
"This would be mine. Nothing says you couldn't move to my path and me to yours. This is simply the paths we walk. We happen to counter each other in a sense and by doing so, we create a balance in a small way. So, you could choose to destroy this block completely just as I created it, or you could use it for another purpose, create something else from it."
Ward gave a light shrug in response to the question, taking a moment to think how he should respond. It was and wasn't a direct answer to a direct question.
"The short answer is, there can be. If something has an opposite or opposing idea or force then there is a balance to it, and it would therein be a part of balance. It's not an abstract idea as some see it to be, in fact it's rather straight forward, but balance is balance. Sometimes things fall out of that balance."
The more Lottus talked the more it was obvious he was pulling from something, some memory or experience, perhaps even some idea he had for something he was planning.
"Balance is not a being pushing pawns around a table, it doesn't have an opinion, an emotion, a goal outside of wanting to be itself. The opposite of agony would be pleasure, suffering would be peace and composure. It may not seem fair, it may be painful, it might be joyful and comforting, but it simply is. I observe things and I observe balance, and I live within that balance to the best of my ability. In rare instances I push things to balance them, which is why I tried helping you at Hatchi, even if minimally. Those actions put us both on paths that in turn brought us here standing in front of one another."
His eyes simply watched the cube flew watching it be assaulted, and giving a heavy wave of his hand to make what was left of it dissipate completely. Bringing his arm closer to him, he clenched his fist tightly as his energy looked to swirl around him but a moment, and dark clouds covered the entirety of the planet.
"You are the one who controls your hatred, and it's your responsibility to balance it."
Much like Lottus, he was speaking more to himself, but it was his immediate response all the same.
