As Saiyan Laws Decree [CH]

Taori's beam roared towards Amara, though the Queen wasn't quite finished yet. Out the corner of Taori's eye, he spotted her final attack, which careened through the air towards him at blistering speeds. It was a good thing he hadn't poured everything into that last attack of his then, or he'd have been left somewhat defenseless against Amara's final gambit. He still didn't have quite enough left in him to block it completely, though, and only had time enough to summon a makeshift barrier in the palm of his hand, with which he pulled back from the beam he was firing and swatted down at the incoming projectile.

His last second block served to dampen the impact Amara's sword had, although it still stung as it slashed against his arm and armor before being swatted down to the ground. The cut it left on his arm stung something fierce, and Taori staggered back as the blade - and his arm - began to spark with electricity for a few moments, although when the dust settled, he was still standing, and Amara was not.

Amara's bright blue hair faded to its usual brown, and while it was a tad less of a spectacle to behold, Taori preferred Amara in her natural colors. Taori breathed a small sigh of relief that it was over, and briefly thought to himself he'd be sleeping very well that night as he rested off all the injuries he'd just sustained. He supposed if he'd had to, he could've kept going for a bit, but his head was starting to spin from how much he'd exerted himself over the last few minutes.

He stepped forward to the wounded Amara, who was down on all fours, bloodied and battered, though likely playing up the severity of her state for the crowd. "You fought very well, Amara," Taori stated, "Thank you for your service to the crown - you may rest easy, now." He then bent his knees slightly and held out a hand for Amara to accept, if she so chose, to stand back up. "I trust in spite of your defeat, the Kingdom can still count on you as one of its closest and most reliable of allies."

"That is a worthy endeavor to pursue," Taori replied as Amara expressed her desire to roam the stars and hone her skills. Admittedly, there was a small part of him that envied the freedom she had technically just won herself, although this was hardly the time for second guessing his own convictions. He hoped Amara was right about his strength being up to par with even the legends, though Taori wasn't so sure himself. If Amara hadn't wanted to lose, would she still have? He was out of practice, to be fair to himself, so he'd just have to see how he'd shape up after some practice. Maybe he ought to challenge Amara to a more no-holds-barred sort of fight later on. ...Not to the death, obviously, but to the natural winner.

"And, yes, I think that's-" Taori winced and clutched his side, "A rather good idea right about now." Taori stepped forward alongside Amara, and Alpinia suddenly rushed up to the both of them, standing between them both to prop both of their shoulders up as they walked.

"You two really went at it!" she exclaimed as they stepped forward towards the crowd. The group of onlookers were clapping with amusement and excitement at the conclusion of the battle, and Taori offered them a half-hearted wave and smile as they parted around the trio. "You're going to have to get me some of those gadgets too, Amara!" Alpinia continued as they walked, "That way I can start lending you guys a hand when these big crazies show up to blow things up."

"Ah, well, we'll see," Taori replied, "I think you'd best leave the big crazies to Amara and I." The last thing he wanted was for Alpinia to suddenly be vaporized, of course. "Anyway... Healing pods sound great right now. Let's not make any detours." And with that, Taori was led out of the throne room and down towards the healing chambers, alongside Amara. Although, after this brief rest, he'd have to step out back into the role of Saiyan King, even if it might one day spell the end of him.
