Namek Sucks, Let's Blow It Up

"Oh yea," Salvo stated, "Don't get me wrong - if ye or anyone else among us tries double crossin' me, I'll blow yer head off b'fore y can so much as blink." Though Salvo's words carried quite a bit of weight and seriousness to them, she spoke them quite casually, as if they didn't mean a whole lot to her. She did find it interesting to hear about Jinx's younger days, though. She'd never really thought about Majin as even having teenage years. Did they not just sort of pop into existence in the form they'd be for their whole lives? These squishy little fellows were quite odd, weren't they?

Jinx may be odd, but she was rather cute, offering little protest other than a squeak as Salvo jabbed her finger into the Majin's cheek. "Teal? Yea, that works," Salvo stated. She'd never thought a whole lot about her skin color. All Herans were just a shade of blue or greenish blue, and that was about it. Majin, though? They were any and all colors, as Jinx had just demonstrated. Still, the whole concept of someone being formed through complete random chance was hard to wrap one's head around, wasn't it? Salvo's parents might not have specifically planned to have kids, but they knew what they were doing could make kids.

"Bah, anyway, all this procreation talk is off topic," Salvo said, shaking her head and leaning back. "I dun really care that much about Majin sex 'n all that." She supposed now was as good a time as any to mention to Jinx about her deal with Fukushu.

"Ah yea, I ought to mention to you I struck up somethin' of a deal with a fella Heran 'a mine," she explained. "Said he was lookin' for folks to help 'im conquer Konats, and I said I mighta known some people good for it. You interested?"

"Eh? This was before you 'n I were meetin' up about the whole formin' a team thing 'ere, lass!" Salvo quickly replied as Jinx seemed almost offended at the fact that Salvo had agreed to lend Fukushu her aid in his conquest. "I only just found out 'bout yer whole Nova Corps thing two minutes ago, 'ere." Of course, her meeting with Fukushu would likely have gone a bit differently if she'd been aware Jinx had already been forming her own sort of mercenary group, but Salvo still felt like this would probably work out.

"I'm sure we can still be takin' Lux for ourselves if that's what ye were plannin' on," the Heran reassured the Majin. Having Lux as their own, personal city and base of operations sounded like a pretty good idea to Salvo, now that she thought about it. While Salvo still planned on moving around the galaxy looking for targets and such, having a specific spot to return to and regroup when she needed it didn't sound so bad. She was pretty sure her ship's crew would appreciate that, as well.

"Don'tcha worry 'bout nothin', Jinx," she continued, leaning back and crossing one of her legs over the other. "Fukushu didn't seem so bad when I was meetin' with 'im. And if he decides he really wants t' be a stick in the mud 'bout it, he couldn't exactly stop us if we put our feet down 'bout it. Fella's injured from a fight he had back over on Plant, anyway. He might be strong, but not strong enough t' beat us all back."

"S'pose it depends on how it all goes down in the end!" Salvo stated with a shrug. No one could really tell for sure how a fight for an entire planet would go down, of course. Salvo felt quite confident in their chances of victory overall, but you never knew if some hero was gonna get lucky with a stray hit and take down you or one of your comrades. Salvo had known perfectly good and competent pirates and conquerors who had been felled at rather unexpected moments. She sure as hell didn't plan on being one of those, though.

It seemed they were about done here, then. Jinx got up from her beanbag chair and stretched, though Salvo stayed seated, simply uncrossing her legs and leaning forward to rest her elbows on her thighs while she listened to the Majin. Although, she furrowed her brows when Jinx suddenly summoned up a fridge out of nowhere, complete with an array of cold drinks inside. She wanted to get to know Salvo a little better, huh?

Well... Sure, why not?

Salvo cracked a smile. "Eh, sure thing, lassie!" she replied, "Me crew can handle 'emselves for a spell. I haven't had much chance to sit down and relax since I first landed her, anyway." She glanced over at the fridge, then asked, "Got any rum? I'll take a Hetap if ye haven't."

Regardless of the presence of rum, Salvo would lean back, and then ask Jinx, "Well, what do ye wanna know 'bout me, then? Can't imagine there's too much to tell that'll impress a being that's a few thousand odd years old or so like yerself, but if there's anythin' ye been wonderin', go ahead and ask." Salvo didn't get the chance to talk about herself all that often, since pretty much all the people she met were quite business oriented, so she was a little curious what Jinx might want to know about her.

Rum flavored Hetap? ...Sure, why not? "Toss it here," Salvo instructed Jinx as she held up a hand to catch it, and the Majin swiftly tossed her the drink, which she popped open and took a swig from. She swished the liquid around in her mouth to get a sense of the flavor before swallowing it, and once it went down her throat, she pursed her lips and nodded as she pulled back the bottle from her mouth. "Not bad, not bad, this!" she exclaimed, giving the bottle a tap with a finger from the hand that wasn't holding it. She'd have to buy a few crates of this stuff to share back with her crew! They'd love this sort of thing.

Jinx herself took a cherry flavored drink, and then asked Salvo her first question. How'd she become a pirate, huh? Well... "Wouldn't say I became one so much as I was born into it," Salvo replied, then she took another sip of her beverage and readjusted her position on her stool to something a bit more comfortable before continuing.

"Y'see, me folks were some pretty damn fierce pirates themselves. Top 'a the line, too. Don't think they ever really planned on havin' kids, but out I popped regardless. Taught me all the basic fundamentals 'a bein' a pirate when I was still a wee lass, they did. Though, I s'pose they can't 'ave been the best at it, seein' as they got caught an' all." Salvo paused to take another sip before she continued. She really did like the taste of this rum soda.

"They had me a little brother, too, though I ain't seen 'im since I was nine years old. That's about when they got caught 'n captured by the Galactic Patrol. They took in me brother too - prolly raised him to be a right upstandin' citizen by now. Me, though? I escaped and took me parents' ship from the impound lot. Formed me own crew and b'came the woman ye see sittin' before ye today." Salvo rather took pride in her origins, as she felt much of her current success had to do with her own effort and work ethic. Her parents may have taught her the fundamentals and provided her a ship to steal, but all else was her own doing.

"That's about me, then. Wot about ye? Ye said ye been sleepin' for a few 'undred years or sommat? Wot's up wit' that?"

"Prolly," Salvo simply replied as Jinx mused that Salvo's life would have likely turned out very differently for her had the Galactic Patrol picked her up alongside her brother. She'd have stuck with him, she imagined, though while she was still young, she had already been taught and raised quite a bit by her parents. Those GP slobs would likely have had a hell of a time trying to turn her into a proper, 'good citizen,' though it was probable that Salvo would have, at the very least, not ended up as a murderous pirate. Would that have been better? Maybe for the people she'd ended up killing over the years, but Salvo rather liked her current lot in life. She wouldn't change a thing, personally.

And as for Jinx's own life story, it sounded about as odd as the Heran was expecting. "Hmm, so yer sayin' once you've had enough fun hangin' around, yer just gonna nod off for a couple 'a centuries?" That could be inconvenient, depending on the timing. Salvo rather liked Jinx, and while Herans could live fairly long if they didn't get themselves killed in battle, they couldn't live that long. Salvo also wasn't going to put money on herself dying of natural causes, either. She wasn't here for a long time, she was here for a good time.

"Well, that's unfortunate," she added. "Ye sure I wouldn't be able t' just slap ye awake if I hit ye hard enough?" One of Salvo's signature neck breaking slaps would be enough to wake up just about anyone, if they didn't die, though Majin were odd. Their sleep was probably some kind of special one no one could remove them from but themselves. "And if that won't work, ye better not clock out until after I've kicked the bucket, yea? And make sure ye remember me after ye wake back up. I'll be countin' on ye to spread tales of the Dread Pirate Salvo to the next generation!"

"Yea? That's good, then," Salvo replied as Jinx expressed how unlikely it'd be for her to return to her slumber anytime soon. So, she'd be awake for a couple hundred years at the very least, then? Salvo was quite unlikely to live that long - she'd never heard of any Herans getting particularly far past eighty years old. "Well, fer me, anyway. Guess ye'll be a bit sad once I croak! Though I do envy ye, not havin' t' get all wrinkly and crusty like I do." Salvo flicked her hand through her hair, letting the strands rest atop her fingertips. "Not lookin' forward to this orange fluff turnin' all gray and stringy, I can tell ye that much!"

Eugh. Aging did not sound too pleasant to Salvo. She was already doing some of it, though luckily, Herans weren't too dissimilar to Saiyans in that they tended to stay in battle-ready shape until they reached great old age, at which point their physical state rapidly deteriorated. Ah, well. At least Jinx said she wouldn't be so quick to forget her after she woke back up!

"So are ye like, immortal, then? I mean, I'm sure ye can die if someone managed to blow ye up into little bits 'n pieces hard enough, but are ye never gonna get old and croak it without somethin' killin' ye?" That sounded pretty weird to Salvo, too. Wouldn't Jinx eventually get tired of life? Salvo was sure she'd, for the most part, be appreciating every day of her own life, but that was cause she'd likely only be living for most of a century. Jinx, though, would continue to be around for eons. Wouldn't that get a bit tough on her?

Jinx's words did not sound like they should be particularly chipper ones, but the Majin still maintained her chipper demeanor regardless - although, Salvo did notice her mood dampen very slightly. So, Jinx would forget everything eventually, huh? Well, that was too bad. Salvo had thought she'd figured out the secret to keeping her pirate legend alive for all eternity, but Jinx could probably only keep it alive for a couple thousand years or so at best! That meant Salvo would need to do a lot more to ensure people never stopped fearing her name. Ah, well. Jinx would probably be a help, at the very least.

"That do be true," Salvo replied as Jinx also stated she'd done nothing that had kept her own legend alive over the last few millennia. "I can't say I'd ever heard of ye in particular before meetin' ye here on this planet. But I'd be willin' to bet that's cause ye just never met the right crew in any 'a yer previous lives!" Salvo pointed a finger up at Jinx and gave her a firm wink, then used her other hand to down the rest of her drink in a single gulp.

She then stood up and crossed her arms, looking down upon Jinx with a grin as she stated, "Mark me words, Jinkers! Next time ye wake up, people'll still be tremblin' in their boots at the mere mention 'a yer name! Yer reawakening'll be a sign 'a the end times for the peoples of the future! And the Nova Corps'll still be the dominant force 'cross the entire galaxy!"
