The Outer Plait was large, probably larger than the territory the other non-Mazoku Namekians controlled if someone bothered to measure it all. The more Gandigan explored, the more hidden places he found that he had never even heard of before. One day while out in the Plait he came across a small tribe of roaming Mazoku; those who choose to move about the land rather than settle in one place. Gandigan decided to chat with them, and eventually they divulged the location of an old castle which used to have some important to the ancient Mazoku.
Of course Gandigan assumed it was the same castle that he had already ventured to when he encountered Rho, though this Mazoku was insistent that this castle was separate, and that there were actually many other smaller castles around the Plait which were built by the same people in the same style. Gandigan had never come across these other castles before, though he soon found out why.
The Mazoku explained that many of the older castles were protected by magic, with their appearance hidden from the usual eyes. Only a Mazoku spell would reveal them to the light of day, and those who knew the old magic were slowly dying out. The old Namekian drew a crude map on a piece of paper for Gandigan before teaching him the incarnation he would require to find the castle before he and the rest of his tribe continued on their own way.
Gandigan was no archeologist; he had others reasons for wanting to seek out these castles. He knew that the clan which had captured him used the great castle of the Outer Plait as one of their base of operations, which meant that was a decent likelihood they were using other ones as well, and as powerful Mazoku they might have the magic to find them. Studying the map carefully Gandigan would head off to the nearest castle, which was about a thirty minute walk to the north.
