Ever since the incident with the moon, Derry had been swarmed with workload after workload due to the ever evolving political landscape, from potential renovations to the moon to updating planet security. As such, he had little time to investigate the moon incident any further, seeming like an open and shut case in regards to what happened there. Kon, Virus, and Kombu had all since disappeared from society, and the president knows Kowlin to be dead, but that still left one last person, one person left unaccounted for: Mel.
Mel had been a rather enigmatic figure to Derry and the government, and despite having possession of all sorts of data collection systems, they had barely anything on Mel. Hell, it was Kombu who even brought the name Mel to their attention, and he wouldn't have paid those words any mind if the camera footage from Kon's mask didn't indicate that there was more to this Mel than he initially thought. Now it seems like Mel was the only one that remained at the incident, and Mel's absence on the Central City Accords Registry was quite notable, which means it's perhaps time that he finally pays the recluse a visit.
Even finding out where she lived was hard to figure out, but with a few specific receipts that came his way, the president was able to figure out just where this Mel lived. Apparently they lived within Central City itself, specifically in an apartment complex. Derry took no guards with him on this trip, believing that all that would be required is himself to perform the interrogation. He has few questions regarding the moon since that whole case has pretty much been put to rest at this point, but instead it's about time he has a little chat with him about the registry.
At long last, Derry arrives right outside of Mel's apartment door, and with a quick and light knock on the door, he eagerly waits for whoever is inside to open the door.
