It was rare to see Eris in person. The purple-hued Shinjin dressed more the part of an egotistical modern fashion designer than a deity. Despite her naturally weak power level, the Shinjin's gait exuded a sense of confidence that Marrow found most to lack. Her handler, as many liked to derogatorily dub her, was an enigma. Most 'villains' would be seething with rage to be kept so easily in check by someone weaker than them. Marrow couldn't care less. Sesame, Derry, Eris. Everyone wanted to be on top, and that made them predictable.
The criminal's eyes slid to the group of dark-hooded Kashvar Eris was currently conversing with. While most of their kind were content to shroud themselves in their nestled capital, many still held dark grudges against the Konatsian people. Dark Mages were the most potent and radical of the minority, willing to cavort with any number of outsiders or Demons to see their revenge brought to bear. The chance to strike a deal with a SHINJIN was simply too much for them to pass up, even if their end of the bargain involved teaching Marrow. Oh, and a little bonus artifact.
Marrow's thumbs slid over the charcoal-colored stone mask, blank of any detailing or holes for vision. Her gaze flickered to Eris, the Shinjin shooting her an encouraging thumbs up. Sighing, Marrow slid it over her face. Whereas most magical artifacts she'd come across before had subtle lines of influence, the dark magicks SCREAMED in unison. She blocked the noise out easily enough, the cursed items attempting to grasp at emotional strings and greed that were simply buried too deep to grab hold of. "Was that it? I feel no different." The trio of mages seemed taken aback, muttering amongst themselves.
