Crash & Splash [Vocado&Pitt]

Though Pitt may not have known it, and Kabe certainly had no idea that Pitt had been thinking so, Wildefang was not designed to be a reinforcement for the weak. Unlike other swords, which were an extension of the wielder designed to give them a dangerous edge where their body usually otherwise lacked, Kabe had commissioned the ebony blade from an indestructible material because he was so strong.

His early years on the crew had him learning the art of the blade under Mayen, who insisted that every crewmen knew at least the rudimentary makeup of each martial art known to the crew. But even now, with years of shattering blades under the weight of his brutish strength, he still was no more than an amateur with it.

It was ceremonial in use, almost. Something he brought out to test the mettle of his opponents without going all out on them. He couldn't even use it very well with his energy. Pitt was definitely correct in his assessment, Kabe lacked proper training by ever metric.

And he laughed when Pitt noted his odd techniques. The heavy kick that followed the comment was blocked by the aforementioned 'toothpick', which held against the blow like concrete to a feather - unlike Kabe's arms, which visibly shook as they were rocked by the surprising force behind the blow.

With a wobble, Kabe watched knowingly as a small bubble of light seemed to form in Pitt's throat, and realized he'd have to cop the energy wave point-blank.

Time to reveal another trick of his legendary gullet, then.

With a stomp for grit, he felt the warmth of the the energy wave hit him, and at the right moment, dug into his gullet and roared inward with a deep inhalation, the energy and light being snatched from the air around them and sucked down his throat like a hoover to dirt.

As the last of the energy was slurped up, Kabe wiped his face with his fist and gulped, swallowing it down. "How's that for an odd technique?"
