Though Pitt may not have known it, and Kabe certainly had no idea that Pitt had been thinking so, Wildefang was not designed to be a reinforcement for the weak. Unlike other swords, which were an extension of the wielder designed to give them a dangerous edge where their body usually otherwise lacked, Kabe had commissioned the ebony blade from an indestructible material because he was so strong.
His early years on the crew had him learning the art of the blade under Mayen, who insisted that every crewmen knew at least the rudimentary makeup of each martial art known to the crew. But even now, with years of shattering blades under the weight of his brutish strength, he still was no more than an amateur with it.
It was ceremonial in use, almost. Something he brought out to test the mettle of his opponents without going all out on them. He couldn't even use it very well with his energy. Pitt was definitely correct in his assessment, Kabe lacked proper training by ever metric.
And he laughed when Pitt noted his odd techniques. The heavy kick that followed the comment was blocked by the aforementioned 'toothpick', which held against the blow like concrete to a feather - unlike Kabe's arms, which visibly shook as they were rocked by the surprising force behind the blow.
With a wobble, Kabe watched knowingly as a small bubble of light seemed to form in Pitt's throat, and realized he'd have to cop the energy wave point-blank.
Time to reveal another trick of his legendary gullet, then.
With a stomp for grit, he felt the warmth of the the energy wave hit him, and at the right moment, dug into his gullet and roared inward with a deep inhalation, the energy and light being snatched from the air around them and sucked down his throat like a hoover to dirt.
As the last of the energy was slurped up, Kabe wiped his face with his fist and gulped, swallowing it down. "How's that for an odd technique?"
Despite the relative freshness of the encounter, Vocado couldn't help but smile as a wave of nostalgia hit him. The sparring family reminded him of a bygone age. When all that mattered to the Bonewood boys was their own bickering. Who was the strongest of the three, or which of them could catch a Saibaman by the ankle fastest (Vocado was usually the winner in that particular contest).
Kabe and Pitt traded blows expertly. If he didn't know any better, he'd suspect that such feverish combat would've been the end of an average fighter. The fact that Kabe could not only withstand such fearsome blows, but send them back, was incredibly impressive. One day, he'd have to meet the rest of this kid's crew.
But the surprises didn't stop there. While Pitt took to trying out his own mouth-based attack, Kabe couldn't seem to help himself in one-upping the goliath. With a single motion, Kabe sucked in the errant Ki and nullified it as if it were nothing! Vocado punched the branch in excitement, shaking leaves out of their resting place above him.
"That's what I'd call inventive, Kid! Keep it up and you'll get the damn crown!"
Rolling his shoulder, Vocado leaned back and placed an arm behind his head.
"Fun as it is for this pissing contest to continue, I can tell both of you are holding back. Show off a little more! Throw a real punch, Pitt!"
Pitt's foot still ached from making contact with the sword as he fired his failed attack. The area was surrounded by his ki, but Kabe wasn't gonna let it go to waste. With another weird use of his innards the younger Saiyan seemed to eat the energy right out of the air! He taunted about Pitt's earlier comment on his odd techniques. "Man kid, you don't stop impressin me! Good to see Bonewoods are strong no matter where they are. You got guts kid!" Pitt couldn't help but laugh at his own joke.
Vocado also seemed impressed by the resourcefulness of Kabe's gut. He was amped up, but it seemed the one spectator they had was getting bored of the warmup. "Now that I know you can take it, here comes a real one kiddo! It's not as flashy, but it's never let me down before!" Pitt rose to the air as he finished his sentence. He remembered when he first used this technique on his brother, maybe he'd be impressed by how far it's come along.
He put the bottom of his palms together and pointed downward at Kabe. His red ki flared and he released a flurry of red ki blasts toward Kabe. The initial stream of blasts followed the river bed, Pitt wanted to give him a chance. The explosive balls sent small bits of acid flying upward as it raced toward Kabe. Eventually the machine gun like line of fire would be aimed for Kabe. "Trying eating some of these kid, I doubt you'll keep em' down this time!"

Vocado had a point. Kabe had been holding back, baiting out the true strength of his opponent before he revealed his hand, so that he could pull some wile and tricks to get himself out of danger if he were trumped by too far a margin. But where he had been holding back, he got the sense the massive man was holding back as well.
Kabe didn't laugh, but he found a great deal of humor in Pitt's joke-wrapped compliment. But it was with that compliment and Vocado's commentary that the fight had kicked up a notch. He didn't have the power to sense ki, or a scouter equipped, but he could tell that Pitt was readying something real as he rose into the air.
Something that would take a little bit more than swinging a sword, and a fair bit of gumption. The telltale sign of ki manipulation, Pitt grabbed at the air with his palms pressed together and extended his arms to faced toward his target - Kabe - and unleashed a barrage of energy from his hands.
"You know, this is little more than a snack." He shouted, surging his body with ki in an effort to increase his speed, and vanished in a blur.
On his way forward, he scooped a single globule of ki from the attack in the air, skidding to a hazy stop beside Pitt, and slurping the energy from his hand before continuing.
"You're tough. I can taste it in your blast. Maybe we are related. So you're probably tough enough to take this." Kabe said, a crackle of red energy forming in the palm he'd just slurped from, popping and fizzling like some kind of soda-firework hybrid. The moment he was done speaking, he dragged the popping light through the air and tried to slam it into Pitt's jaw.
Power Level: 5,000 KP: 3/6 MP: 5/6
Kabe uses LD|Subsonic Shutter for 2 KP! He dodges the attack for 60% (3000)
Kabe uses LA|Fissile Pop for 1 KP! The attack is aimed at Pitt, for 20% (1000)
Was this real? Vocado had been impressed before, but to see the kid skirt by such an awesome attack with so little effort was staggering! He rubbed his cheek idly, almost as a way to double-check that this wasn’t a dream. Blinking, he nodded in realization.
”Looks like we’re all a little better than I thought...”
Vocado had been on the front lines for ages. Brutal fights and muddy, bloody skirmishes weren’t out of the ordinary for him, but it was rare that either side got to really show off in any major way. Most fights took place in dreary trenches or claustrophobic, dilapidated buildings. The sheer volume of combatants on both sides meant most skill went out the window. Either you fired off shots from afar or you rounded a corner and lopped someone’s head off. To see how far his brother had come, and to see that same skill be thrown back by their newfound nephew? It was breathtaking.
”Don’t tell me... Could they be...?”
No. Surely not. Strong as they were, none of them were legendary. Not yet, anyway. The myth was old and fantastical anyways. Nothing more than an old wives tale: propaganda spread to embolden the youth and bring them to the frontlines.
Pitt laughed as he continued his firing of ki blasts. He was happy to see Kabe not only survived without a scratch, but was on the counter attack. Pitt trailed him with the blasts, but his nephews speed was unreal. Another use of ki Pitt's straight forward teachings never taught him. It seemed he used ki to enhance his speed instead of just his strength. Pitt would have to try that out one of these days.
Following up with that burst of speed he snatched one of Pitt's own bullets out of the air and consumed it. He ate it right out of his palm like it was a snack! He gave a smug retort and jumped up to Pitt catching him in the jaw with a kin infused punch. Pitt reeled back through the air, snapping his head back towards his nephew. He wore a smile and brandished a new bruise. "Not bad. Not bad at all kid. Your definitely Bonewood material. A real chip off the old block."
Begrudgingly Pitt landed on a small patch of ground resting above the acidic pool. He crossed his arms and powered down. "Well I'm satisfied with that test. You have my respect Kabe, welcome back to the clan. But now it's Vocado's turn, and last time me and him tussled he blew up a mountain side and knocked me out. So bro, you wanna see what he's got? I'm sure you'll be happily surprised."
Pitt is hit dead on by Fizzle pop for 20% dmg!
Pitt powers down and offers Vocado to take the duel from here.

Kabe smiled in primitive smug satisfaction as his blow struck true, sending his uncle barreling a short distance back through the air, a new bruise serving as a powerful symbol of the might he'd acquired in his years roaming the stars. As his uncle landed, he watched as he visibly relaxed, the tension of a fight in his muscles melting away to something more casual though still visibly excited by the exchange.
Sauntering over to his blade, which was half dug into the dirt, a small smear of acid sizzling uselessly against the timeless ebony metal the blade was worked from. Licking the acid off, the focused on gullet space and slip the blade back down his throat like a sword swallower, before turning to face his relatives.
When Pitt turned to his brother and offered to tag out instead of simply finishing the fight, Kabe wasn't sure he liked that idea. The fight was exhilarating, sure. But he'd never much been a fan of fighting battle after battle back to back if he could help it. At least, not on an empty stomach.
And aside from some acid and a little bit of energy he'd managed to down during that scuffle, he was as hungry as a horse. Neigh, make that ten horses.
"We can face off some other time, Uncle. I haven't eaten since before my ship got attacked, and I feel like I've been hurtling through space forever. Tell me, is there still that little Dinosaur Brisket joint on the outskirts? I don't remember many things from the early years, but that Ajisan Wild Pepper sauce? I'd literally kill for some of that right now."
Wait, they wanted to have Vocado step in? It was an interesting idea, but one he'd need to find a way to pass on. Tough as he was, the strain from his battle with Cheri still weighed on him quite a bit. That, combined with his hesitation to start one battle right after one ended against a blood relative, made him look for options to deny without seeming weak.
But the effort was taken away, as Kabe seemed to be just as uninterested. Vocado sighed subtly, and hopped off the tree. Clicking his scouter, it blinked and beeped slowly, before fizzling out completely. Still on the fritz, it seemed.
"I know a couple good places nearby, if you're up for the trip. The Mercenary Outpost, despite its rough exterior, has quite the list of restaurants. Most of them won't get you sick, either." He gave Kabe a once-over. "Then again, I don't think you can get sick..."
He gestured for Pitt and Kabe to follow, before taking to the sky. Travel through the Acid Lagoon was treacherous, but flying over it was a breeze (so long as no Tuffle patrols shot you out of the sky, that is). With the might of all three of them combined, they'd be just fine on the way back to the civilized world.
"How's Toma's sound? They've got some unreal smoked meats."
Pitt couldn't help but wince as his nephew "sheathed" his sword. He grabbed his own neck and gulped audibly. In typical Saiyan fashion when the fighting seemed to end, their minds turned to food. Pitt was a bit disappointed that he wouldn't get to see what else Kabe was capable of, but he was quickly over it at the idea of brisket. He began flying off with Vocado and at the mention of Toma's he felt his mouth water, his stomach doing the talking for him as it grumbled loudly. "Ok I'm sold, some pepper sauce would reeaally help get rid of the taste of Saiba."
It wasn't often that Pitt and Vocado got to eat at a real eatery, but it was a special occasion. The last thing the two wanted was for their nephew, who had quite the appetite apparently, to be disappointed in his home world's cuisine. "Alright but this isn't over, let's fight later nephew of mine." Pitt was happy that he and Kabe so quickly were on terms of calling each other by their familial titles. And with the fighting over and the trio with hungry bellys. They flew into the sunset towards a well earned reunion meal, and away from the crash site.
