Apparently quite a lot has happened ever since Derry had gone on his trip to both Arcose and Plant. Not only is he starting to go through the rigorous process of having to get his own hands dirty in quite some time, but apparently tragedy has struck Battle Island. Quite some time ago, the place was bombed by some terrorist who had something against the place, though details of the event were always rather hazy at best. He didn't get any interviews with any survivors since there were so few around, and he wasn't even sure where the culprit, their accomplices, or even the people who stood against them even were. That is, except for when one lead came into his office.
A survivor of the attack washed up onto the shore of the coast and was brought in for questioning, eventually making his way all the way up to the president's office. He explained that though he couldn't really say anything about most of the other people who were fighting with or against the terrorist, he did remark that he believed that he once saw a woman who matched her appearance roaming around in the alleys of South City. It was pretty much the only lead Derry had access to, so he dismisses the survivor and immediately heads out to see if he can get a word in with this criminal.
Others would likely want to track the criminal down to try and either bring her to justice or outright kill her, but not the president. He wants to keep this visit to South City off of the records since he wanted to see if he could convince this individual to run a few errands for him. Despite all of the forces on Earth ready to fight against non-Dirty Snake threats and the Accords constantly forcing these people into hiding, she still somehow succeeded, and he was especially curious as to what her true capabilities are.
In the dead of night the president slunk around in the dank alleys of the outskirts in South City, looking to see if he could question anybody about this woman who managed to take on Battle Island and won. He was equipped with a description of her appearance and her general location, but he still needs to do plenty of digging before he can truly come up with anything. Derry passes by drug addicts and the homeless alike, all of which looking up at him with a raised eyebrow, wondering if they really did see the president of Earth walking right past them. He cared not about being seen by them, only that he would eventually find the one who brought down Battle Island and chat with her.
