All of Nilen's time on Planet Plant up until this point had been spent on the Saiyan controlled side of the world. It wasn't by any specific choice of his. It just happened to be where the ship he rode in on had landed nearest, and so he inevitably ended up meeting a few Saiyans before he met the tuffles. That got him involved with their affairs for a while, which spurred him to help out with their relief efforts after the attack on their capitol supposedly by an Arcosian. Regardless of the cause, though, the damage had been very real. Nilen offered his abilities to aid them in the recovery efforts, and had earned some favor on the Saiyan side of the world in a small way.
Now, however, he wasn't making enough money from doing odd jobs around the Radditsu district, so he set off to do some hunting and gathering so he could at least save money on food. There was the unfortunate side effect of him not knowing what was most edible here and what wasn't, but Nilen was hoping that he'd find someone who could give him some direction in that regard. He had at least been able to find out from a few Saiyans that the most vibrant location on the planet for flora and fauna that might be ripe for the claiming was the Berri Forest on the Tuffle side of the planet.
So here he was, quietly trudging through the woods with his hood down so he could hear and see clearly. He attempted to be silent while stepping through the underbrush, but he was unfamiliar with how to proceed stealthily through this kind of terrain. In spite of being light on his feet, the brush and roots made the ground far more sturdy as well as the leaves and twigs made his steps much noisier. He caught wind of some reptilian quadruped around the size of a house cat back on Earth and tried to give chase, but the little thing was so fast and blended in so well with the lush greenery that he lost track of it entirely. Nilen got a little frustrated with his situation trying to hunt in this strange territory, so he shifted his focus to looking for plants the might be edible. Berries and the like were his goal here. Surely there had to be plenty of fruits to eat in a place called the 'Berri Forest', right?
