Munsu's Tea Room and School of Mystic Arts
A decently large establishment, the entrance is directly opposite from the main counter which holds a decent selection of baked goods, some from Earth, others adapted from some rather... interesting offworld recipes. A basic coffee/hot drinks machine sits behind the counter along with a worn wicker based chair. To the right the room opens up into a larger space lit by a skylight with a large square mat in the middle, small tables and chairs line the edges.
Today hadn't been the busiest of days for Portobello, it appeared the rain had chased all but a few away from dining in her humble establishment, as the cafe sat empty Portobello took the time to rest her fuzzy frame on a chair she kept behind the counter.
...It was peaceful, the sound of rain hitting the windows, a shadow moving in the corner of her eye...
Slap!
"Ow!"
The other party was the only other person gracing the cafe at this time, a young man, lightly build, red, longish and slightly unkempt hair, also a new hire and a aspiring thief of baked goods. He drew his hand back from the outstretched claws and clutched it tightly, giving the woman a slightly upset stare. Portobello merely raised an eyebrow and gave him an unamused look.
"What did I tell you?"
"No one's even buying them! Can't you just take it out of my pay?"
"You won't be getting any pay if I don't have anything left to sell."
With that he slunk into the backrooms, towards his actual job. Portobello held the cold stare for a few more moments before breaking into a smile. There were no hard feelings, to be perfectly honest he was the only person who seemed to like those cookies, much too sour for her, she only kept making them to honour a dear friend back from her more exciting days.
Ah, but dwelling on old memories wouldn't bring in customers, it was back to playing the waiting game. Until the next customer came along she'd continue to laze around in her chair. If a potential customer was to arrive however, at the opening of the front door her ears would perk up and she'd stand up to greet whoever it happened to be as they walked over to the counter with a cheery "Well hello, how are you?"
