GENERAL RULES |
RULE 1) Treat others with respect. You are expected to behave in a cordial and responsible manner at all times. Malicious behaviour or harassment towards members or staff will not be tolerated.
RULE 2) While swearing is permitted, discriminatory language or behaviour is not. There is no room for debate on this: just because you don’t view a term as offensive does not mean it won’t make others in the community uncomfortable.
RULE 3) No sexual content. The site and the Discord are both strictly PG-13.
RULE 4) Remain civil during any debates or disagreements. Though it is inevitable that players will disagree with each-other and with staff, the general discussion areas are not the place to air grievances.
RULE 5) Plagiarism of any kind is not permitted. You may not use material or posts from other sites, other members, or other content. You must provide credit for any art you use and you may not use art you do not own unless it is specifically tagged as being free for general use. Due to the nature of AI art generation, we do not allow AI-generated art or text to be used on our forum.
RULE 6) Keep advertisements to the advertisement section and do not attempt to coerce members to join your forum.
RULE 7) Player profiles must be named after their characters. In keeping with the theme of the site, real-life face claims are not permitted as avatars.
RULE 8) Characters or content that are considered inappropriate or ill-fitting for the Dragon Ball setting will not be permitted. You’re free to be creative, but make sure you’re keeping in line with the overall tone of the setting. Customization of transformations should not imply unique or extreme powers beyond other members of your species, ie. SSJ-level Wrathful or non-yellow to gold Super Saiyan.
RULE 9) Malicious exploitation of site mechanics and plugins will be considered cheating and will result in significant warnings, suspensions, or bans. If happen upon a bug or exploit, do not abuse it and report it to staff immediately.
RULE 10) Be mindful of the overall tone of general discussion areas. They should remain a reasonably positive space for members to enjoy. Excessive or persistent negativity, combativeness or toxicity will result in removal from Discord.
ROLEPLAYING RULES |
RULE 1) Godmodding (taking control of another player's character) and meta-gaming (using out of character knowledge that your character can't and shouldn't know in-character) are not permitted. Attempting to write players into a corner with excessive conditions and what-ifs built into a post is considered godmodding: this is a forum for cooperative storytelling.
RULE 2) You may only use items and techniques your character has access to. You can get creative with basic ki use, but not use full mechanical techniques you haven’t gained access to.
RULE 3) You may not kill or permanently injure another member’s character without permission during normal RP. You may be permitted to do so in certain threads, so long as it does not also violate Rule 1.
RULE 4) You are allowed up to six separate characters, each with their own account. Furthermore, your sixth character slot is also subject to additional rules as detailed in the Character Transfers thread.
RULE 5) Role-play should occur roughly in real time. Threads should occur on or around the date they were posted unless otherwise implied: you can get flexible with this, but no thread should interfere with the established time-line of other threads or stories.
RULE 6) Ordinarily, you may not role-play with more than one of your own characters in any given thread. However, there is a monitored system that allows your characters to interact; the Your Characters Here thread explains this in greater detail. You should still maintain a degree of separation, where possible, between your characters' overarching plots and motivations.
RULE 7) Respect boundaries. If a specific description or topic would make other members in your thread uncomfortable, you will be asked to stop. Disturbing depictions of violence are not permitted.
RULE 8) Things will not always go your way. Do not harass or attack other members for their character's actions. Do not gloat, brag, or hold character success over other players. At the same time, do not guilt or condemn other players for being proud about their character's threads or accomplishments.
RULE 9) Always leave an OOC note stating your base Power Level and any Companions' base PLs at the start of any thread.
RULE 10) You must keep track of all of your techniques somewhere on-site. Whether you keep your comprehensive list on your character app or a separate tracker/plotter page is up to you, but it must be somewhere easily accessible.
RULE 11) You may not use transformations stronger than your current level, or use abilities that would require extremely specific training from an inaccessible canon source. For example, you may use the Kamehameha or the Tri-Beam, but you should not use the Kaioken or Spirit Bomb unless specific mechanics allow for their unlock.
COMBAT ROLEPLAY RULES |
RULE 1) Characters are considered roughly equal in power if they are within 80% power-level of each-other. A character below this, but at least within 60% of the more powerful character can still compete, but with a clear disadvantage. Any lower and you will be unable to hold your own, save for KP-usage. You are not permitted to engage in godmodding no matter how much stronger your character is than your opponent.
RULE 2) When in combat, you must track all of your applicable stats- your current KP, MP, PL, any items you have or have used, any transformations you have active, along with any used techniques and how much damage you have taken. Do not maliciously hide or exempt information. You can read more about how combat works in the Combat Rules thread.
NPC RULES |
RULE 1) Non-player characters cannot have a large influence on the overarching plot of the site. A NPC with strong personal ties or stakes to individual characters is fine, but a NPC that has overarching influence across several boards that players unrelated to them would need to account for is not.
RULE 2) Non-Companion NPCs cannot have extraordinary forms or power levels above what the playerbase has obtained. i.e, no Super Saiyan-level NPCs until the level is surpassed by many players.
RULE 3) NPCs can have power levels that rival average player characters so long as it is not in violation of NPC Rule 2, though having one of these stronger NPCs present in a group thread requires consent from all participants.
