It had been a rough year for Tiara. The teenager had been through a lot following the terrible accident that had almost killed her, but all of that could be put into the past now. The future was looking bright! And with her miraculous recovery, she and two of her friends had permission to head to one of Central City's many karaoke bars to celebrate!
Often, Central City could feel like a very impersonal place. There were just so many people here! And the main rule for getting through the day was to try and interact with as few of them as possible. That was the problem with metropolises like Central City; so many people, but so few of them were willing to embrace the people around them.
That was what Tiara enjoyed about karaoke; the simple act of singing brought all souls together! For a brief time, they could enjoy the expression of each other's joy, love, sorrow or heartbreak. Everyone who stepped into the bar understood that to be the ultimate goal; to reach out across the vast gulf of solitude that defined modern living and clasp hands with their fellows!
That was how she saw it anyway.
The karaoke bar itself was nothing special; a little dingy and small, in fact, but it was one that the three high schoolers could afford. Tiara, Katsu and Dumpla; the trio of earthlings definitely made a colourful splash. Tiara with her short, bright blue hair and eyes, Katsu a shorter, green-haired girl with incredibly large glasses and pale features smattered with freckles, and Dumpla a taller, broader, tanned young woman with dark hair held in place with a pretty orange ribbon.
"I still can't believe you're fully recovered, Tiara!" Katsu said as they settled at a corner table; on the stage a salaryman belted out the words to the latest chart-topping single as though he were trying to hammer it into the ears of everyone present with a battering ram. Tiara had to admire his passion!
"Yeah, no kidding." Dumpla said, punching her friend playfully on the arm... and then shaking her hand after it went numb. "I don't know what it is, but you seem even brighter than you did before the accident. It's, crazy!"
Tiara laughed at that, scratching behind the back of her head.
"Ah, Doctor Pope is an amazing woman!" She exclaimed, "But really, I'm not that different! Honest! We're still best friends, and nothing in the world will change that!"
"Do you think he's going to hog the stage all night?" Katsu asked, "I really wanted to hear you sing again, it feels like it's been forever. It's so unfair they'll kick us out before 10!"
As the trio started to laugh and joke amongst themselves, however, a dark figure entered the karaoke bar. Tall, broad-shouldered and studded with obvious rivets beneath his immense trenchcoat and fedora, the lumbering man looked over the gathered patrons, his gaze lingering on the unaware highschoolers before he moved to the bar.
"Water."

Tiara is Memory, but ssssh! It's a secret.
UT: Powered By Hope is active - Memory’s ki energy is not just standard. She is a literal beacon of hope. Those who can detect such things can feel the extremely distinctive quality of her shining soul and even those who don’t hold such abilities often feel supernaturally calmed or inspired by her presence. PCs are not effected by this unless their controller wishes them to be.
