Mint may of been the dark side of the Arcose Underworld was something he planned to change. Now that he was apart of the Arcose upper division, he was going to up his status. Trading, and making good relations with the planet. He was very excited to do just that. He had arrived at the Space Port that Azoth had created, a sign of the relation he was trying to build between the people of Earth and Arcose. He was head inside looking into the building. All the people busy making Emperor Azoth dream come to life. But it was time for Mint's dream. Mint would look to one of the folks, "If anyone has any questions about Emperor Azoth you may dictate them to me. I'd like to meet the people of Earth. Afterall I am a lord myself. I need to know of those who hopefully will agree with our version of the universe. One of peace and prosperity." Mint would turn grabbing a chair to sit at the front of the building. It was not anything he was use too but he hoped someone could come around. At the very least he was going to stick around to listen to what happened around this place. Get a feel and better understanding of the Earth Culture he usually distanced himself from.
It was one of Jackie's usual outings in Central City. Walking among the people as she perused the more exotic bits of multi-planetary culture. The open market near the heart of the city was a bustling place full of this stuff, and it was always an excuse to get out and look around for any trouble or potential allies. It was in the middle of perusing some off-world fruits that Jackie got that shot of energy piercing in the back of her head. She could feel that presence's approach from a good way out. it would give her plenty of time to catch up to what her first guess was - The Space Port.
Like the Arcosian that came before, Jackie was a bit hard to miss as she stumbled ever closer to the place. Letting loose some of her own strength for anyone to sense should they not be mistaken. She wasn't just some lowly stranger wanting to come up and hear the good word of Azoth. Speaking of which, that's really what got her to come on over. 'Emperor Azoth'. That was still a little weird to hear, but it sure sounded like him.
"Yo." The sun-kissed woman decided to breach through the small crowd the port had, to stand before him and size up the arcosian. She doesn't recall meeting any others affiliated with Azoth, but it only made sense those loyal to Arcose would be primarily Arcosian anyways. Earth just wasn't teeming with them, honestly.
"Heard ya talkin' about Azoth. Well, He's a friend of mine. And I can't argue with peace. Sounds like him. And you said you were a lord?" She's heard it from the man himself before he even took the crown. It might not be a bad idea to get acquainted with other possible diplomats of other plbnets. She had no plans to ever from anything between planets but being friendly with everyone was less likely to create hostilities.

Earth was still such a strange place in her eyes, with all that she had ran into since her time here, The creatures each strange and unique with their own properties, she was starting to struggle to find whom exactly the planet really belonged to. Yet, with all this exploring she had been doing as of late she had yet to really find means to her own cause, her own goal. Even as she gazed around, it was really hard for her to even notice much difference between herself and some of these humans and zoanthropes on this planet. It made her wonder if she were to learn more of this place, could she potentially, if she really wanted to, pretend that she was simply one of them?
The fox had to push those thoughts away, at least for now. She wasn't here to stay for sure yet after all. She just wanted to try some of the treats and delicacies that they provided on this planet. The people she had seen so far, the trip from south to north, it was only a side thing. No real meaning behind such.
Maybe it was because of such thoughts, that she found her attention pulled towards those words of the arcosian. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow a bit at the sight of another one. She was starting to wonder just how many of them frequented the planet as well. Peace and prosperity he preached of and yet, she found herself wondering if he really knew what that meant. Anyone could desire such things after all, but the realist and perhaps michieveous part of her wondered if they understood the cost that come from such desires. Rather, what prices one would be willing to pay for such things to be true. As she walked closer towards the port, nothing truly to spark her out from the crowd as much between seemingly from her lack of a signature to detect and her seemingly zoanthrope appearance, with a light twitch as her ears peaked upwards, she pondered a question for the arcosian. "If you don't trouble a question, but what version of a universe do you speak of? Rather, what is peace, what is prosperity to you?", she would pose the question as she brought her hand up under her chin.
Mint scouter beeped to life as he left in awe with a power level of <20,000> Which was not bad at all. It showed how strong these earthlings truly were. But if was the strongest person on the planet he had to wonder if they could be of any use in the grand designs of the empire. “Greetings.” Mint nodded as she explained that she was a friend of Azoth. And she asked if he was indeed a lord. He smiled lightly. “I was elevated after Emperor Azoth rose. I helped out where I could in his rise but admittedly his will made it work. His good heart was what allowed him to become the emperor.” Ignoring the part he killed General Hibernal but he had been stubborn. If he had just let himself step aside he’d still be alive. At worst, Azoth had to do what had to be done and at best he did the universe a great service getting rid of just an arrogant man.
“But yes I’m Lord Mint. I decided to look around and see what I can do to help. My goal is to be of great service to my emperor. To help bloom his empire into something that he can be proud of.” He would peak up as a woman came forward and his scouter didn’t even pick her up. She could hide her ki somehow? She had a very interesting look and abilities. She even had a nice question asking what peace meant to him. “A good question. I suppose that is not an easy thing to answer. People have different visions of peace. Me and my Emperor would as well. But I’d say a world where you can always get justice. If something wrong occurs to you, you are able to have someone fix that to bring justice. We cannot stop every person from doing evil, but we can stop wars to occur and violence to overtake entire worlds. To bring a sentence of comfort to everyone. Does that answer satisfy or shall I go more into depth with your question?”
Well, she really didn't have anything that could directly contradict him. He didn't seem like the type to just make a big grand lie either. And it's not like that's the first thing that really came to her mind when speaking with Mint here. As general and grandiose as he initially spoke, he seemed to at least be genuine. Not even really questioning how or what help this lord could possibly have provided to elevate himself. She could only give a bit of a bow towards the arcosian.
"Well, it's nice that I'm one to catch ya. Name's Jackie. This your first time on Earth?" She asked, genuinely curious as she felt like she would have spotted this man long ago if he hadn't just arrived. Then... some red blur approached from her peripheral. Very Red, in fact. Looked like a zoanthrope, one in the same as an Earthling with a few quirks, but perhaps just a bit... different? She couldn't put her finger on it. She approached soon after, questioning the broad generalizations Mint spoke of Azoth's ambition. Quite the words to start with.
She had to respect that the spokesman lord didn't just hide behind lawyers or managers to avoid answering such broad questions. She expects the man had an script ready for such a question anyways. It at least sounded close enough to what Jackie shared? The Earthling was never too much a stickler for definition of terms that mean different things to different people generally. It was hard to make broad policy on 'peace' and 'prosperity' without getting some disagreement. Jackie was sure there were some on Earth who felt attacked every day by what was the status quo.
"Not the greetin' I would go with, but he did kind of ask... Eh." The monk looked over at the red fox lady with a snort. She was being half of a smart ass, the other half wondering if she treated politians and the like too casually. Did she? Ehh. She could probably hold very cordial conversation if she had to, but her default was to treat everyone with the same dignity and tone. WC: 360 TWC: 697
Well, at least she got a response, she would breathe a light relief in that conclusion at least. She listened as he described the idea for peace that he thought of. She even respected the thought that he knew others have different visions of peace. Respectable at the least, it was something she could admit to. “You pose a good heart with your response at least,” the fox would admit as her tail did a slight switch of side as it swished in curiosity. “However, I don’t believe your empire will be able to stop all wars. Perhaps in better phrasing, maybe you can stop them in their current context. You will never be able to stop violence, however. Justice and peace always sound like a genuine ideal. Something admiring to it at the least as well, no?” Rinako would ponder her question to the Arcosian as a slight smile began to form with every passing word.
“Violence will never come to a complete stop, or rather…conflict. Justice and Peace after all, can be subjects that often enough arrive at conflict themselves, no? If I were to offer any form of suggestion, perhaps looking into a forever peace or justice is not the right concept to look for? Mayhap your empire should simply look for the next day to better than the last. A balance with things rather than a flood. Ironic as it is, you may find yourselves more conflict the stricter you are to adhere to one form of peace or justice.", Rinako offered in solace as she reached into her sleeve and seemed to pull out a small but light cup. She would wave her hand over it as the cup would seem to be filled with a brown, sugary rich drink. “Like an overflowing drink, too much and it simply pours over”, her final comments would consist of as she took a sip of the black tea. Not as good as fresh, but hopefully served the point she insisted. “Oh, how rude of me, I didn’t bother to introduce myself. I’m the name is Rinako, and would you like some tea Lord Mint?”
It was as she heard the monk speak that the fox perhaps realized, maybe she was going a bit overboard…couldn’t hurt to tone it down just a bit she supposed. She had noticed the monk having chatted very casually with the Arcosian after all, so it wasn’t like he could be too bad of person. Not like she couldn’t still have just a bit of fun nevertheless. “Apologies, I spose I did go a little overboard there, been a while since such a fun question was posed…though in fairness like you said…Jackie, was it? They did ask for it.”

Mint nodded to Jackie, “No I have been on Earth but not much. Just to meet with Emperor Azoth when he is around on the planet. Since he created this place, I came to him to give him my reports on things going on across the Cosmo's. So in many ways I suppose I serve to give information. Emperor Azoth cannot be everywhere at once after all.” Mint bowed his head to Jackie. He was still getting use this role that he just placed himself in. It was very odd to talk in such a manner. He was use to talking at a calm pace but not without malice to it. His business required him to do that all the time. But in this business that would be a death sentence.
Mint focused back around on Rinako. Jackie was there but she didn’t have much to say on the matter. So for now he’d leave her be. Hopefully she will not be too annoyed by that. Because he had a lot to unpack in what Rinako had to say about peace. He listened to each of her words nodding along and let her finish before he spoke. “Well put. The goal is perhaps too high to reach in our lifetime. But if you wanna to create a universe of peace, you need to start with the lofty goal and to move the pieces around in order to achieve one’s goal. Not everyone will agree what exactly the peace that will be built up towards. But the goal is to make the building blocks. As you said, the world is better each and every day.” Mint tipped his head as she offered her name and some tea, “I would be more than happy to have some tea. Rinako. And do not worry about the question. It is a great question to be asking. But you’d have to ask Emperor Azoth himself how to exactly handle it. What a say is a mixture of my own thoughts and what I think he would say.”
As much as Jackie liked talking about her current motives with hopeful students and peers, she was unsure about speaking philosophy with two new faces she just met. As good as both sounded, the redhead just kind of stood there. Awkward in her stance as she looked between the opposite color palettes that were Rinako and Mint. Such things were usually reserved for people she was interested in recruiting to the cause. Azoth's informant here at least had a purpose in explaining himself... She sighed a little.
"I imagine being 'emperor' holds him down with responsibility. I get that. He didn't really talk in policy around me either during his time here. I figure he didn't want to think too much about it and would much rather enjoy some festivities..." She was kind of anchored to Earth, too. Even if she did want to lash out and help other planets people with their problems she had to worry about a home first and foremost. It was a sad fact she couldn't be in multiple places. That neither of them could be in multiple places. The train of thought was cut off when she noticed the little fox magic up some tea out of nowhere. Blinking down at her before being asked about her name.
"Eh? Oh. Yeah, Jackie. The heck was that? Didja just, pull the cup out and pour a drink with your hands???" That was a new trick she hadn't really seen before. The confusion was laced in her smile and perked brow as she inched forwards. Trying to look down into the cup for any obvious tricks of the mind or eyes. For all her wisdom and perception, she was really failed by her lack of experience with something like this. WC: 298 TWC: 995
Well, she wasn't going to lie, so far this had to be her favorite Arcosian out of the ones she had met so far. Seemed far less likely to randomly attack or go into a boredom she had found as of yet. She liked as well that he held reasoning with the words he chose to use, a novice politician at best. Still much better than someone more experienced in the works of politics. Especially so with conversations involving the likes of conflict and peace. "Well, it's fun to at least meet others who can understand the partial workings of peace and conflict with their controversies.", she would acknowledge with a light movement of her hand as she held it open. Her other hand would move to take a drink of her warm tea, knowingly and enjoying the awareness of the sun monk's attention to such a spectacle. A magician always had to have a little fun after all.
"I imagine you are right there Jackie, someone with the rank of an emperor must surely be a busy individual indeed.", the fox would speak with a slight slyness to her voice. Some form of idea, planning was going on in that head of hers. She was easily able to acknowledge mentally at the least that attempting anything good or bad to someone that high of a rank would be a gravely bad idea. Though perhaps she could pull a bit more enjoyment out of the monk’s questioning of the drink. “Why indeed I did, but now what magician would I be if I revealed all my tricks.”, the fox would offer dear Jackie with a reassuring yet sly smile. Placing her own cup of tea down on the ground, she would come to stand closer to Mint before reaching once more into her sleeve, repeating the same trick once more for Arcosian royal. “…As promised Lord Mint, a local delicacy of a drink.”, she would coo with a passing of hands, holding the glass out for him to take. “A thanks after all for answering these questions.”
Rinako would continue said smile as she turned towards Jackie, “Now I could tell you about the trick behind such, but wouldn’t you rather like a free glass to drink as well, Jackie? No magician can reveal such tricks after all.”

Mint nodded his head to Jackie as she noted that the Emperor must have been very busy. He was not going to talk much about his policies which made sense. “Well the first time he was on earth was before he became Emperor. He returned after that world martial artist tournament. I've heard a few stories on this planet. The fighting there and coming to this planet help sharpen his skills and increase his power. Something he needed when he took the leadership role in Arcose. I also imagine he didn’t wanna bring too much in the way of mess. The fight for the throne was not an easy affair. There was a second man who wanted to take power and he had a more...vile mindset for the emperor. As opposed to a path of peace, he was a man of war. But he was defeated by Emperor Azoth.” That was enough information for now.
The fox lady seems to be using some sort of magic to create the tea for everyone. He would take his tea with a nod to her. “Thank you very much.” Mint would sip. This of course could be poisoned but she didn’t seem to be the type and even if she was, if she could conjure a point that could so easily kill him then poison was the least of his worries. “But yes hopefully I can keep providing what information I do know. I wish I could be of more help but the Emperor right now is so busy just trying to build relations with every planet. That is the main focus at the moment. Afterall, if we want to build that peace then you need to know those around the universe. And those who won’t follow along with the idea of peace.”
Huh. Now that right there was useful to know. She wasn't aware specifically, but she remembers being warned of a certain General Arcosian who had lead some rather atrocious campaigns on behalf of the Arcosian empire before Azoth started standing up. So, he had gotten rid of him? She had to assume this was that same guy. She just nodded at Mint.
"Huh. Well, that's good. he told me about that dude. Hibernal, was it? He seemed to agree with my description of him as 'Saturday night cartoon villain'." She didn't know how useful her description here was, being a very Earthling television thing to reference. Rinako pulls her attention more and more though. The red fox was apparently some magical wizard or somethin'. Or just pulling her leg. That fancy trick was repeated in front of her for the Arcosian as Jackie rubbed the back of her head. She supposes it's not THAT unusual. Jackie could make solid objects with her own life force, as the sun permits it. Usually, this was done for ceremonial and rituals though. It was not something so refined either. She was limited to her elements. OR, YA KNOW, NOT SOMETHING EDIBLE.
"Ehh, sure. But I don't like tea all that much. Ya got water in there? Apple juice? Can ya make me a Pina Colada?" She was half-serious, actually curious what limits such a magician had with their cup nonsense. Not that she was wholly against accepting strange liquids from strangers with animal ears and tails. WC: 257 TWC: 1252
Rinako couldn’t help but begin to find herself fascinated by the story these two began to go on about. The emperor had come to this planet as well in an attempt to grow stronger. She wondered just how strong this world could have made him to allow him the ability to take over an entire empire. Such an idea just didn’t seem feasible to her. Maybe it could be a stretch, but as she saw Jackie reassuring this story even, Rinako couldn’t help but wonder just how strange Earth here really was. “Saturday night cartoon villain hmm? If he was seeking to really just go on a warpath, I suppose we really did get lucky with your emperor coming out on top.”, Rinako would acknowledge with a hint of amusement and perhaps respect to her voice. The fox may be many things, a trickster included, yet she would gladly acknowledge such reputable feats if they were true.
She was glad that Mint seemed to enjoy the tea at least, it made the conversation go a bit smoother in perspective she supposed. “I’m glad you enjoy it Lord Mint, and I suppose if this is how you seek to build relations with the surrounding worlds then you are without a doubt on the right track.”, she would say choosing not to question what would happen to those who refused to follow their idea of peace, at least for now. It was Jackie’s question for her drinks that distracted her attention just a bit now. “Well, water is pretty easy I suppose, but Apple Juice? A Pina Colada? I’m not exactly sure what those are really?”, the fox would question with a sure hit to her curiosity. She was so curious that even her head had turned slightly, her ears spiking immediately up as her tail gave a light swish from excitement.
He found it a bit annoying they were calling Hibernal some Saturday Night Cartoon Villain. That was not what he was. He was a calculated general, but he had been arrogant. That was his biggest issue. He didn’t realize that the tides were changing. Emperor Azoth was at the top of the food chain. But Hibeneral could not accept that. He couldn’t accept just being some general. But he kept this to himself, giving any praise would look pretty bad. What was true was they were lucky Azoth had come out on top. Especially him. Azoth had let him join the ranks; he was not sure Hibeneral would have done the same. “Yes we are very lucky he was stopped. But he still has a lot of his support. Even with his death, there were a lot who liked to see his legacy and ideas back on the throne. It is why we all need to be villgient of these types of warmongers. To make things run peacefully.” The two of them seemed to think he was doing a good job building relationships. That was a good sign these two thought that was the case. That was what he needed to do, continue to build up his usefulness of the empire. To make sure Azoth could never get rid of him no matter what.
Huh. You know, she could maybe forgive the red fox for not knowing what a pina colada was. That was much more a Southern Tropics treat in liquid form. Popular with tourists and all that, being a blend of pineapple juice and coconut milk. Unless you went crazy with rum. Jackie might have hated herself a bit if she accidentally got that version of the drink, actually. That wasn't the strange part though... Not knowing APPLE JUICE? Jackie had to shake her hands up in the air and grab both of their attention. Breaking up what little talk there was of Azoth and Hibernal.
"Whoa whoa whoa - Wait. Pina Colada I could excuse, but THIS? APPLE JUICE? Aren't ya a Zoan? Apples are like one of our biggest fruit crops. I..." her utter and exaggerated shock is only half played up, taking a moment to compose herself. Bringing her fists up to hold them knuckle to knuckle and take in a deep breath with her eyes closed.
"You're not an Earthling, are ya? Sorry for assumin'. I got ahead of myself. With the whole ears and tail, could fit right on it ya know." Jackie relaxed her arms and blinked her eyes open. Leaning now to give Rinako some harder look around the face. It really wasn't any different from the few cat boys she's met. Whatever the case...
"... Just give me water. If ya don't disappear on me all a sudden I could point ya in the direction of some apples." WC: 256 TWC: 1508
Truthfully, it had seemed that Mint was bringing up a rather important piece of information. Especially when it came to concerning this warmonger. The fact he had a lot of support still actually rose a slight bit of worry in the fox. She understood well enough that those supporters could easily grow once more if their influence was able to spread just a bit more. Not that she was going to get much time to question this bit of information, however. The shock and cry from Jackie over the dreaded apple juice had immediately thrown her back, her ears and eyes widening in surprise at this sudden outburst. “I…I’m sorry?”, she couldn’t help but murmur out as she hadn’t expected not knowing of some kind of fruit would hit her so hard. Even at the question of her being a Zoan, when she had opened her mouth, all she found was herself blankly staring without a word.
“N…No, can’t say I’m really an earthling here…can see the confusion and admittedly may have been relying on it.”, the fox would sigh with her admission. “It’s just easier you know? Like you said, it’s easy to blend in somewhat with them and well just generally a lot less of a hassle.”, Rinako would say forcing a bit of a smile, as she would start to pull one last cup out, picturing in her mind a simple cup full of water. The trick behind such magic after all, was simply how well your imagination with such magic could work. Conjuration and the likes after all. Simple measures as she passed the cup towards Jackie.
