So I got bored and I am a nerd so I threw together the below.
This is a heat map calculation of the species and their transformations at each of the levels new transformations are unlocked from start through to 350k along with an average.
Lighter colours indicate that you are closer to the max for that level than the bottom; darker colours mean you are at the bottom. There's some interesting things this tells us! There are my big takeaways, anyway:
1) Aliens are pretty consistently middle of the pack. This is to be expected; they are constantly unlocking new forms and those are never at the top or the bottom available. If consistently feeling like you're in the conversation at your tier is the most important aspect of the play experience for you, I think Alien looks pretty compelling!
2) Arcosians are great early game where the power differential is most pronounced (no big shock there either; that's what they are designed to do!). Konatsians enjoy some really strong midgame presence between 100-200k but drop off sharply after that. Herans have a strong game from 250k-349k and still aren't bad at the 350k tier. So in terms of raw PL numbers, Arcosians are best starting, Konatsians are best midlife and Herans are good late game... except that's thrown out a little because Arcosians, Earthlings, Namekians and Tuffles all jump up at the magical 350k point.
3) The averages are interesting. The strong late game skews the figures for Herans (and really anyone who has the largest endgame multiplier because the 350k boost is weighted most heavily). However, Aliens coming in with an average of 5.38m and no point they are weakest really underscores their consistency compared to everyone else.
Probably the single biggest takeaway from all of these numbers, though, is that the difference between the lowest average and the highest average is only 11%. Since everyone is considered to be equal within 20%, that means that you really shouldn't worry too much about the distribution. If you're weak at one 50k threshold, chances are high you'll even out again at the next - or worst case scenario, the one after that.
The longest stretches of dark colours are Androids, Earthlings, and Majins, so if it is really important to you to avoid that - those are the three races which might have a more prolongued stretch of feeling underpowered compared to someone of equal PL within their character life.
Obviously, none of this analysis is looking at particular builds which can change the combat maths significantly and I expect some species have weaker transformations to balance stronger inherent traits - but I just thought this might be an interesting thing for people who like looking at numbers to look at!
