BACKGROUND: Not much was known about Haya's birth aside from the fact that one of his parents was a Kabochan and the other was human, although he never particularly cared to figure out who his birth parents were. Although he was abandoned at a small clinic shortly after his birth, he was adopted by Sioux who raised him as their own son and named him Haya. His childhood was happy despite the fact that he was only raised with one parent, seeing as Sioux did his best to support him however they could.
Growing up, Haya believed he was fully human. Perhaps it was the fact that he was the hybrid of a human and a human-like race, but the only indication he had ever had of his true heritage was how quickly he grew, towering over the other kids at seven feet tall at the age of only fourteen and reaching maturity at fifteen. Although he knew that Sioux was never his actual father seeing the difference between the parent and child, for the first time he was forced to confront the truth. As a result, he became intensely interested in learning more about who he was.
Finally he got his answers after taking a DNA test: one of his parents was in fact a kabochan. Having never heard of this species before then, Haya continued to do whatever he could to connect to his heritage. He initially began to experiment with fighting, seeing how naturally athletic he was as a child and learned that he had a penchant with it more than other children. However, conflict arose between Sioux and Haya shortly after this as while they were happy to support their son learning more about himself, they still wanted him to retain the life he had. There were many fights, insults and regretful words thrown out ultimately leading to Haya leaving to join the Galactic Patrol at the age of 18 in order to distance himself from his father and perhaps meet his own heritage for the first time. Although heart-broken there was nothing Sioux could do to stop him.
His time in the Galactic Patrol was exciting but short. While he had achieved his dream of meeting someone of his species, it was not in the manner he expected. After trying to stop a group of space pirates, he received a wound from a kabochan pirate that greatly hindered his ability to fight. Unable to fight as efficiently as before, he was discharged from the Galactic Patrol only 2 years after he joined. Reluctantly, he returned home to the arms of his forgiving father, the two ultimately making amends.
While Sioux's healing magic was able to help with his wound, his mind ultimately did not manage to catch up with his body, still registering it existed despite the fact it long healed over. Seeing as there was nothing that they could do for his mind, Haya reluctantly knew he had to adapt to his new condition if he ever wanted to fight again. After spending another four years training, Haya eventually grew stronger, utilizing precise movements and calculations in order to help make up for what his body lacked, all while his father supported him the entire way.
Even if he decided not to rejoin any police or military service, Haya eventually began to work for other businesses in order to further support his father, acting as a mercenary occasionally. Yet despite everything, he always had his father's back, willing to come back home and help them whenever they called him. When Sioux approached Haya, speaking of their experience with a strange woman and dreams that felt so familiar, he was more than happy to help them help regain their memory, seeing as they had always been his greatest cheerleader in life. He just wanted to return all their love.
