The climate in this region of the planet was rather bitter, a far cry from the relentless heat of the deserts out west. It was to be expected, given it was quite literally a polar opposite to what she had grown used to in her twenty-four years. Some said the north was as unforgiving as the flat sands and the canyons of the wastes, yet for all the hazards they presented, Celeste would admit that this terrain proved a bit more daunting than the tales led one to believe. The vast cliffs of ice were formidable and imposing in their height, abundant everywhere her eyes dared to cast their gaze. Beyond the dusted plateaus, bottomless ravines, and snow-capped trees, the sorceress had uncovered a lake tucked away in a most idyllic grove, where the water’s surface remained glazed with a fresh frost.
Celeste realized the importance of her time here in the area, which would serve well with the development of more cold-based spells. The temperature would be ideal to draw forth the ambient mana and ki in the air, much like she had frequently practiced back under the trees and boughs of Levinwood back home. Though it was vital to remember how differently each element felt when Celeste reached out to them, for each of them behaved differently, much like the hearts of man and the planet to which they were so intricately bound.
The girl’s path had taken her across the surface of the hardened aqua, to the center of the discoidal circumference, where she made a rotating wave of the hand over her head. Her boots would gently lift from the frigid surface of the lake, as the witch began to hover in place, moments before she took up a cross-legged stance in the air. Bringing her hands before her, they were held in a variety of poses before eventually resting on her knees, as she began to meditate mere feet above the frozen lake. A soft breeze would begin to form around her as she did this, causing faint snow flurries to dances across the surface of the ice, whilst Celeste focused on tapping her powers into the surrounding element. The grove was peaceful and nearly quiet, save for the faintest whir that occasionally came with the breeze. All that remained now was to wait, and remain focused on what she wanted to achieve in this frozen wonderland.PL: 5000
