Apparently Azoth can still rule over his own planet just fine though the confines of his ship that's just hanging around Earth's orbit at the moment. Perhaps Derry should invest in something as technologically advanced as that. He has his very own massive spaceship available, but it hasn't really been outfitted with the technology necessary to perform tasks such as what Azoth's is capable of. On top of that, he presents Derry with a small purple rock, claiming that he can use it to teleport back to Arcose if something were to happen over there. He recalls possessing one of those stones at some point, but at the time he saw little value in it as a teleportation device and just sold it off. If only he knew the stone's true capabilities, he might not have forked it over so willingly.
The emperor continues his miniature lecture by explaining that he wished for the people to meet the new leader of Arcose so that they know that the man doesn't pose as a threat to them, unaware that there is very much the possibility of Azoth being a threat to Derry. At this rate, he's going to need to come up with even more contingency plans for the future if he gets a bit too nosey.
"Really?" Derry asks as he looks at the compartment where the stone lies, "I must say that's quite impressive. I believe I had one of those stones before, but I never would've guessed that teleportation was something that they could even do. I might need to consider picking one up if I do become president. Could be quite useful in emergencies." He looks directly at Azoth and continues, "Arcose has indeed had a long history of tyrants, many of which weren't exactly very friendly with Earth. I'm just glad that we have a far more sensible emperor to cooperate with this time around, it makes for a nice change of pace."
Derry reaches into his pocket and grabs hold of a small notebook containing a plethora of phone numbers and scouter frequency numbers, alongside an expensive black ink pen. "I'm not entirely sure if you have any paper on you, but I can always tear out a piece from here and give it to you just in case," Derry starts as he briefly glances at the audience, "but if you have a scouter frequency number, or by the off chance that you have a phone number, you can write it down here in this little log book and I can give you the number or frequency to my secretary. I would give you my contacts, but you'd be surprised how easily I'm swarmed with phone calls and such. Running for president isn't exactly a cakewalk, you know."
