Did Azoth just confess to murder? That actually didn't surprise him as much as it probably should've. His reason even made sense on a basic level, though he should probably have paid more attention to who Azoth was before he sought an interview, he didn't even know that much about Arcosians for that matter. But dwelling on it right now probably wouldn't help his attempts to conduct an interview, so he'd try and ignore this fact for now.
"What? If you're sure then I guess that's fine."
Azoth's agreement to go to the place Alaistair was offering threw Tarine off somewhat, he hadn't expected him to based of his initial distaste. Realistically though Alaistair probably wasn't a major threat. Despite Tarine's distrust towards him, Azoth seemed to think it was safe enough, he probably wasn't dumb enough to attack the emperor anyway, he was more likely to try and talk Azoth into a business deal or big up that Derrick guy, which would most likely get him shut down again. Really his own fault if this ended up backfiring.
Whether they were walking or not Azoth still had some interesting things to say about what his goals were, whether he was telling the truth or not. Plans to ally with other worlds, that checked out since it was apparently one of the reasons he was back on Earth and, yeah, species did seem to benefit by trading with each other. At Plant being mentioned on the list of planets to ally with he appeared to become more alert as to what Azoth was saying, he might have even looked a bit excited or possibly wary, though the change in expression was very brief.
"Well, your plans sound optimistic, so if it is what it sounds like then I wish you the best of luck with that." He paused before adding as an afterthought, "Some places, they seem a little... unstable right now though, don't know how that'd be worked into your plan."
Guess it was time for them to be dragged to whatever place this guy had in mind, but with how this guy loved to avoid giving straight answers to his questions, he could afford to be be a little irritable first. "Hey, I might be agreeing to this but I'd still like to know exactly where we're headed first." Followed by a bit of embarrassment "... I can't f-"
Interrupted by a bizarre cackling noise from above, he was shocked to see a large ship(?) passing overhead, the best way to describe it was showy, demonic maybe? And of course it belonged to this guy and his "associate".
"I think that's probably going to spook more people than us walking. And can you stop being so vague with your answers? You never said anything about a ship."
