The Emperor Arrives! [Open]

Tarine, more commonly known as Mel, had been planning on using today for yet more research into some of Earth’s secrets. Despite really pushing his luck with how long he could keep ignoring his host’s previous obligations, his goals and ambitions were infinitely more important than the dull life of a human anyway.
…But he did need a source of income less he ended up homeless in the future. So he had to make the most out of today before he would be forced to find work.

Though making his own way through the crowds he felt a disturbance in the back of his mind that gave him pause. He needed a few moments to really comprehend what he felt, but there was no mistaking the feeling of a monstrously high energy signature nearby. Something told him he should panic- maybe a Saiyan had made the transformation into an Ozarru and was about to go on rampage. Though he quickly pushed the feeling back down on realising the lack of chaos and how unconcerned the civilians were. Still it was a completely unfamiliar signature and that was deeply concerning in any case, so while the crowds were still unbothered, taking some time to investigate this mystery couldn’t hurt him, right?

Tarine made the decision to completely mask his ki from an outside reading, mainly out of caution that whatever it was would sense his approach, and so he could follow if necessary. Moving further towards the source he spied some type of jewel-encrusted lizard leaving an ice-cream shop with a rather large order. On further confirmation that also appeared to be where the reading was coming from. That face also seemed strangely familiar somehow, now Tarine was certain he’d remember meeting something with a power of that calibre, so maybe they'd instead been in the news at some point? That seemed more likely, he was much more focused on news from Plant so he could’ve easily passed them by without a second thought, they might of even been some type of celebrity based on the way some people were staring or attempting to take pictures.

Though even if that was the case Tarine didn't want to risk an approach just yet, for now he'd attempt to follow at a distance to see exactly where this individual was headed, though if Azoth did decide to look back he might have noticed a red haired person following, likely turning away if caught staring, but that probably wouldn't be entirely strange given that an extremely high profile figure had just arrived on Earth.

A few days ago, Alaistair had gotten into a angry scuffle with a training bounty hunter in the middle of the woods. He had been trying to go for a walk in a secluded area with his ship, the Cayenne Shako, and had come across these rolling hills with an open space surrounded by forest, located South of Central City. It'd left him so livid, that even days later, he wasn't sure if it left him injured. What he did know, though, was that he'd later taken the large vessel to the capital of the planet, intending to hit up the Snake Eyes Casino set up there and gain a little something after the week he'd had so far!

He had booked himself a few nights in a near by hotel, paying for the room himself and taking the time to try relaxing himself. Yet, this wasn't happening. The encounter after such a large financial loss for the Derry Presidential campaign rubbed him the wrong way. This was beginning to feel like a diversion from his main goal: to return to the Demon Realm with his people and become one of the most enigmatic warlords the Demon Realm had ever seen!

"Aurgh..."

He'd been in his bathroom, a shower taken and with him half dressed. He'd been looking into the sink for a few minutes now, ruminating in his thoughts. Should he start making his own moves? Wouldn't that seem like that old fool, Yangcong, who'd put an enormous bounty on his head? Was it better to keep focus on the public matters with Derry and attract followers? He hadn't really gotten any, for the matter...

He slapped his hand into the slick marble, a feint crack developing underneath that he quickly patched up with a bit of his magic! He walked out of the bathroom and went to his curtain drawn window and opened it up. Some light did come in from the sun, but a notable shadow loomed overhead. He raised an eyebrow lightly for a moment, before a swift head pounding sensation greeted him! He cursed, looking up at the source of the shadow. Whatever it was, the power was easily double his own! Who or whatever it was, Alaistair had chosen to make this his attention, to take his mind off of things.

Once more, he materialized some clothes for himself: A slick suit in black with a red bow tie at the base of his neck. He exited the hall and chose to go upwards, floating above the carpeted floor of the hallway as he sped through to the nearest stairwell! He entered it and shot upwards, reaching the top of it in seconds and exiting out the door to the roof. Some people were there, hashing it away with one smoking and the others pondering what the deal was with the ship above.

Alaistair floated up higher, to only see a teal colored Arcosian fly out of the ship and go down to the streets. Alaistair pinched the bridge of his nose before looking to the guys there, asking them, "You guys got anything to drink?"

"Uh, no..?"

"Not even for a chunk Zeni," Alaistair pressed further, pulling out a small wad of cash from his pocket. It was way more than a couple hundred. He knew it, and even the guys looking at it knew that.

One of the three pulled a bottle of whiskey out and offered him the bottle. The bottle looked a bit expensive, having a kaleidoscopic appearance to it with a darker amber liquid inside. Al gladly took it, took a small swig away from his lips, and offered it back. He then stated, as he floated up in the air once more, "You guys may wanna look into getting some better stuff down the line, unless you're pre-gaming. I'd gander it being worth 800 zeni..."

"It was about eleven hundred, before tax."

"Oof... Well, thanks anyway!"

He sped after the Arcosian, leaving a small gust in his wake that nearly knocked the 3 off their feet! He could see a crowd gathering around the Arcosian that'd been rather substantial. Curious, instead of landing next to the man, he landed on the outside, behind the crowd. He approached close enough to hear what the hubbub was about.

"What's going on?"

"Guy, the Budokai champion's here!"

"Who?"

"The Budokai Champion, Azoth! My man, I do not KNOW where you've been, but look at this. This guy rocked the competition from the beginning on and after he won, he went off grid for a while. However, not that long ago, news on the web started surging about this guy that-"

"Oh, you mean about that fiasco at South City?"

"No, you dingus! Let me finish!"

"Man, okay! You don't need to hit!"

"Anyway, this guy actually went back to his homeworld, right, and he freaking took over the place! This guy's a bona fide planetary Emperor!"

"Really? I-"

The guys Alaistair had been listening to started to trail on about some other stuff. Meanwhile, the crowd continued to develop, threatening to drag Alaistair into the mess! He tried to wiggle but found himself somehow getting ushered up from by people trying to get up there! He'd been shoved from the back to the near front, the demon businessman becoming a bit more visible over on the sidewalk now, clearly looking like he was about to slap around a few of the paparazzi trying to get up close! Even Azoth would be able to see the at this point. Frankly, though, Alaistair did want to get a better look at this Azoth fellow, considering his brief encounters with that, 'scientific,' Majin, Faustus! He just didn't want to have so many people prying into this business!

Considering that there's an encounter that may result in a fight earlier, it's unclear if Alaistair's going to look a bit scuffed up. For now, assume he's in Okay condition.

Getting the attention on Earth was lightyears away from the attention Azoth was getting on Arcose. First and foremost, he was also known here as the Budokai champion, more so than being the emperor of a distant planet that, as far as he knew, never quite reached Earth in its numerous conquest, the two of them being incredibly far apart. On this blue marble of a planet, people only seemed happy and excited for him to be there, while on Arcose, while it was improving fast, there were still a lot of double-faced individuals and scheming old warlords to be dealt with.

The bright and honest smile on the arcosian's face seemed to never fade as he was showing around a few tricks to people asking him for hints about fighting, martial art or even ki-manipulation, he had become quite good in all of these, with his previous training as an Imperial Guard and then experience fighting a bunch of people, including the tournament itself. His confidence was certain, but rather than keep it to himself and use it to his advantage every time he could get it, the young emperor wanted to share with the world, so that the overall skill cap would augment, pushing him to improve even further!

For a moment, Azoth wondered if the President of Earth had to be chosen finally, it was a whole thing too, if his stay here, while probably shorter than the last, could allow him to start official diplomacy with the leader of Earth, essentially extending both of the world's reach beyond their border and allowing his alliance to have its second member, it would have been much more than justifiable.

This train of thought was cut short by someone approaching him. This one felt different from the rest, it took a moment for Azoth to realize that it was not a human, but a Tuffle! Azoth had a feeling this person was not exactly there to talk martial art and techniques, but he still would seem happy to see him, the young emperor did have a certain charisma and open mind about other people.

'' From where I am, we do introduce ourselves before we start asking questions...''

He said in a somewhat serious voice and all the imperial presence he could muster at the moment, before shifting tone and stance with a short laugh.

'' ... just kidding, sure, you can ask away, I don't mind at all. Although, I would like to have your name, just in case.''

The emperor had missed having opportunities to make jokes, so that felt pretty good.

It seemed Azoth's joke might have been a little too strong... he should have remembered that not everyone was like Jackie, able to take every joke as it was, and perhaps his title of emperor was forcing people to somewhat take him seriously at all times... that was quite the bummer, but figures that being emperor would not bring exclusively good things in his life. Oh well, he would just have to find his old friends if he wanted to have a good, relaxed time, but for now, he had to fix that Mel fellow from being so scared of him, he'd prefer another friend asking how to improve their fighting style.

'' Mel uh, well nice to meet you. I am Azoth Icepeak, emperor of Arcose. I'd rather introduce myself properly, rather than have you run with whatever you've heard.''

He smiled lightly at the man, crossing his arms as it seemed the Tuffle hybrid shifted to 'business mode' for now. Alright, Azoth could take come more business still, it was his job now after all. When he heard his first question, Azoth took a moment to ponder about it, what could he say and what couldn't he, that was the key here.

'' Well, first and foremost, I really like Earth as a whole. The weather, atmosphere and people, everything is quite nice. Also, I made a bunch of friends here, and I hope to see them again, tell them what I managed to achieve on Arcose, and all that. And lastly...''

Azoth looked for a moment in Mel's eyes, then at his ice cream cone, he would give it a bite, followed by the slightest moment of bliss from the chocolatey flavor filling his mouth.

'' The food... man... the diversity of everything growing on Earth allows you guys to make such good food. ''

He chuckled a moment, stretching his neck a bit.

'' Oh, and I guess I hoped Earth would have chosen its president by now so that I can... well... discuss politics with your leader, create trade opportunities, alliances, and that sort of things.''

Yeah, that should cover everything, hopefully, that was the kind of information that Mel was looking for.

Most of what Azoth had to say was pretty interesting, maybe some of Azoth's reasoning went a little over Tarine's head- it didn't seem worth visiting a planet just for the food, but he did other reasons. Earth did indeed have a lot of diversity compared to what he knew about other places in the galaxy, most seemed to be known for pretty much uniform climate over the planet so wanting some variety made sense. And he desired to keep in touch with the people he'd met before, what sort of people would make such an impression that an emperor felt the need to visit? Tarine had a lot to consider, Azoth seemed an interesting sort, not really what he expected a ruler to be like. Could be a good thing since he also didn't seem like the type for conquest despite his high power level.

Azoth might have captured his interest, but he visibly perked up at the mention of alliances, if he was open to speaking more about his intentions then along with having a better idea of who Azoth was he could get a useful perspective on the current political situation. Was it a bit selfish talking to someone just for information? Maybe, but this was stuff they were willing to give away and he needed as much knowledge as he could if he wanted to be of use somewhere.

"Ah, that's- oh" He'd barely been able to get a response out before the owner of the other strong ki signature decided to make his entrance. He was also left a little irritated, Azoth wasn't going anywhere for now, why couldn't he have waited for them to finish talking first? He wasn't a fan of the act being pulled off in front of him nor the way he wanted to take over the conversation, and this was confusing. What did a random fishing company have to do with a presidential candidate?

Something about him was raising alarm bells, it wasn't just that strange edge to his energy but he decided he had to interrupt his interview then tries to pull them into talks about some person who isn't even the president yet by dragging the both of them to some other private location. He was pretty sceptical of this offer and it was blatantly obvious.
"Right... You sure we'd need to move for that? The crowds have been pretty tame so far and if you want to advertise your candidate, shouldn't you be talking to them instead?"

Azoth's positioning and demeanor became threatening, in a polite manner. Al withdrew the hand when it'd been neglected! However, he didn't take any harm to that. He wasn't being polite, having interrupted to the interview this person was having with the Emperor.

"In this case, it's literally just that he's the only candidate," Alaistair retorted swiftly, putting his hands to his sides, "With no opposition at this rate, he's going to be taking presidency."

The interviewer, who'd been also a bit irate, was skeptical of Alaistair's proposition to move to somewhere else. However, he insisted, "Well, you've been around plenty of crowds, right? They can swarm people uncomfortably to get their little tabloids made! You're intent to interview, and don't mean to impose. I'm, at this point, offering a place of peace from such a thing! Besides-"

He leaned in, covering his mouth from the crowd so the two could hear him easier.

"-People on this planet tend to yank rugs out from people walking on them to keep their own feet clean in the most opportune times. Right now, trying to advocate for my candidate in his, currently, one man race is unnecessary... And a waste of resources."

His demeanor was undoubtedly making the two uncomfortable, but Alaistair was being honest! He pointed down the road with a thumb, stating with a smile, "I've got someone who can help with what I mention at the flip of a dime. Then, you can have your interview AND be able to go on a wilder tour of the city... My treat!"

It seemed Azoth had maybe done too much of an impression on the poor demon that wanted to present them his candidate for Earth's election, there was a visible shift in his face, similar to someone who just realized he was talking to someone who was no fool, nor could be manipulated so easily, or rather, that's how Azoth interpreted it. It was a shock, however, to hear that he was the only candidate to present himself for the presidency... wait, this was supposed to be a democracy, wasn't it? Even Arcose had two people face to face for the throne, how come Earth didn't? Even Mel seemed to question the same thing, out of Earth's population, nobody else wanted power?

'' Well, if you're so sure about his victory, then know that soon enough, I'll be visiting your boss, no harm intended, of course, to discuss some policies. I know my power can be quite intimidating, but I assure you, but only beings I ever killed directly threatened me and my group. Arcosians might not have the best of reputation around, and trusting me on words surely won't happen, but I assure you. I love Earth, its people, its culture, and its soul, so I would mean it no harm.''

Yes, Azoth felt like he should over-compensate for his people's reputation, knowing full well that being 'too nice' would bring suspicion on him, but also, the longer he would respect his words, the fewer the doubts, eventually reaching his goal.

Still, the man insisted, doubling down on his proposition to move out of here towards a place he knew. At this point, Azoth was almost curious, and if it was a trap, he figured he could trigger it and see what happened. He would turn to Mel, who had asked a new question, which was an interesting one.

'' What do you think? Fancy a drink perhaps? Can't be that bad now, can it?''

He threw Mel's way, he would let the Tuffle hybrid make the choice, whatever he was more comfortable with. Would it be during the walk there, or not moving, he would also start answering his question.

'' Well see, now that I am Emperor of Arcose, I plan on reaching out to the other civilized planets of this galaxy. My goal is to create an alliance of sorts, with trade, cultural exchange, and mutual defense being the strong points. I believe we could achieve so much more if we all worked together. So I want the leaders of these planets, namely Earth, Plant, and Namek, to join this alliance. Arcosians could build a proper spaceport, bring a new kind of tourism as well as trade opportunity never seen on some planets before. Basically, achieve what my people were trying to for centuries, only without the part where we conquer. ''

Yeah, that was basically it. Of course, Azoth knew that a lot of his plan could be misunderstood and associated with 'I want to make my empire big', but at this point, he couldn't just go over every part of his plan and assure that everyone involved would have a choice because if he did, he would look even more suspicious.
