In the West City Banquet Hall, a certain presidential candidate is hosting an event to boost awareness and answer some questions his supporters or detractors might have. After the Dirty Snakes HQ has been destroyed thanks to Kon, Derry has been putting more and more focus on running for the role or President of Earth to achieve at least one major victory for the gang, though the public doesn't need to know about that. All they need to know about Derry is that he's the owner of the Snake Eye's Casino, the only active candidate for presidency currently, and when the time is right, the superhero Laitier, the man who's helped clean the streets of Central and West City. Perhaps later today is the perfect time to reveal it, but he must bide his time.
Reporter after reporter came in to ask several questions, and Derry gives out very clear answers, telling the straight truth whenever possible while avoiding questions that might relate back to the Dirty Snakes. With enough leverage, he can always have the Dirty Snakes pose as just a regular mercenary group funded by him, but he'll have to be careful with what he says. After about an hour of nonstop questions, the crime boss finally gets a break from the constant bombardment and everyone takes the opportunity to snack upon the various treats that were brought to the banquet hall today. The perk of being as rich as Derry (despite the dent the HQ repairs have made in his wallet), is that he can perfectly accommodate for everyone here and get a little bit of extra leverage with his supporters.
It was also the perfect time to start pushing for leadership on Earth since Arcose has a new emperor as well, at least according to the news stations. The fact that the planet has been leaderless for months is a complete embarrassment, and the fact that arcose of all places managed to find an emperor faster was baffling to say the least. Azoth might rule with kindness and honor, but Derry isn't so keen on that. Sure, the poor and middle class will certainly see many improvements to keep them compliant, but he's never been after them in the first place. Why would a crime boss go after them when the rich have all the money in the world and likely have just as much blood on their hands as he does? Regardless of his thoughts, Derry focuses back on his meal, intent on finishing it before more reporters start swarming him to ask more questions.
