“Captain’s Log, day two,” Derry states as he leans back into his chair. The crime boss was a bit busy looking out at all the emptiness that space had to offer as he set the ship to autopilot while recording his daily logs. Normally he would never keep around these sorts of logs, but considering how limited Derry’s options were for entertainment, these little guys provide a minor distraction before he has to find something else to do. If only there was something at least a bit more interesting to look at than the vacuum of space.
He continues, “No sign o’ any trouble. Nearest asteroid is thousands o’ miles away, and we still ain’t even halfway to Earth. All systems are functional, and supplies are plentiful. Frankly, the lack of anythin’ to do ‘round here is what’s killin’ me. Signing off.” With a single press on the control panel, Derry ends and subsequently saves the recording before moving back forward on his chair. Piloting the ship itself was boring him at this point, and he engaged the autopilot by throwing a few random switches on the side of the console.
He leans back into his chair and looks back at space and all the nothing that it is providing him. He could only imagine what things are like for Hazel if he’s bored out of his mind currently. Speaking of which, it’s been a hot minute since the two of them had their little… session back at his office before it was rudely cut off by those demons. It’s funny how things have been going so far considering how the two met. At first he was absolutely terrified of her and couldn’t stop thinking about her out of fear. Now, he just couldn’t get her out of his mind, although this time it was different.
Every time he’s ever around her he begins to slowly warm up, and every time they ever come into contact shivers run down his spine. He knows this feeling very well, but Hazel herself still needs time to adjust to this whole ‘love’ concept. Their time on Plant has helped with her discovering the concept, but it still wasn't quite enough. Considering what he’s heard of her upbringing, it didn’t really surprise him all that much. Maybe he could help her understand this whole ‘love’ thing by finding something to do together. She does have access to magic, so she could probably conjure something out of thin air.
Derry gets out of the captain’s chair and starts making his way towards the back of his cruiser. Considering how much time Hazel tends to stay in her bedroom when nothing is going on back at HQ, it would be safe to assume that the demon would be in her quarters at the moment. Hopefully he would only be interrupting Hazel’s own boredom once he arrives outside her door.
