The message she had awoke to that morning had been far from expected. It as hardly from someone in the Shredder Corps, inviting her out to train again, nor was it anyone she particularly knew all too well. No; instead, Rosemary had awoken to a message on her communications from a familiar name with no face. It'd wanted to meet with her, at last, and asked where would be the best place to do so.
So, the hybrid woman rest on the sickly purple cloud of hellish magic, looking out over the wastes at the agreed upon location. It wasn't far from the city, not so much that her disappearance would be noted, but neither was it necessarily close enough to attract attention. It was perfect for these clandestine meetings, out in the middle of nowhere with people who might have less than good intentions.
She raised the bottle in her hand to her mouth, sipping on the cheap whiskey she'd brought with her. Wasn't this how these things always went, after all? Just sitting and waiting... Hoping that something didn't go horribly wrong and get her into trouble with top brass.
Why was she nervous, anyways? It wasn't like they had spoken much in the last few months. Ever since she had gotten out of the healing tank, there had hardly been any information or bounties to report, anyways, and there certainly had been no money coming her way... Still, her tail twitched anxiously, and she kept an eye out for any souls she might think of as... strange.
Thread PL: 40,000 | Items: Scouter, Healthy Beet, Turbo Energy Drink, Sparking WaterEver since Derry arrived on Plant with Hazel, there was one thing in particular that he had to do before heading back to Earth, and that was to finally meet up with Rosemary, his longtime contact here on Plant. He didn't really have any specific tasks for her to perform, nor did she have any interesting information to report back, so it's been quite some time since the two have spoken to each other. Derry wished to remain annonymous until he knew for certain that Rosemary could actually be trusted with handling such information, and considering how long the two have been working, it's about time they physically meet and discuss about certain recent events.
The truth of the matter is that Derry has absolutely no idea how Rosemary would take the news that he's been contracted to defend Tuffle territory from invaders. She herself was half-saiyan, though compared to her brethren she's a bit... aloof? There weren't that many things that were definitive in her files back on Earth, but the fact that she has saiyan blood running through her does worry the crime boss. Perhaps he could salvage their relationship by forming a different contract with her, or if all else fails, bribe her.
Out in a wasteland near the saiyan capital, Derry arrives at the scene and looks over the place with his scouter sunglasses to make sure that he is the only one there and potentially spot Rosemary. His scouter sunglasses start beeping at the presence of a certain hybrid as Derry looks up and sees who he presumes is Rosemary sitting atop some purple cloud and passing the time by drinking. The scouter comes back with her power level, which was approximately thirty two thousand. Right now, he possessed more power than the hybrid, but he was wiser than to ignore the fact that she likely could become an Oozaru just like any other saiyan.
If Rosemary somehow didn't notice Derry enter the area, he cups his hands and shouts, "Hey! You must be Rosemary, is that correct? I'm the contact from the Dirty Snakes!" Since there wasn't anyone else around the area, he felt fine just shouting to grab her attention.

Out of the corner of her eye, she had spotted something approaching from the East long before his words had reached her. For just a brief moment, the whites of the hybrid's eyes flashed a more violent red than usual, and a snide smirk crept across her face. The stranger, whoever he was, was nothing to be worried about. Even if he could transform, there wasn't much of a threat that she could see. So, the hybrid raised her bottle again, and took another drink before the stranger's words caught her attention.
Ah~ Derry, right?
Rather than shout over the wastelands of Vegeta, Rosemary opted to reply telepathically to the Earthling now drawing closer. Her power was controlled just enough not to intentionally overwhelm him with her rage, but that was all she could do, and the chatter of aggression and violence still clamored at the corners of the mind, like an Oozaru circling its prey. Almost casually, the cloud that carried her weight turned and carried her closer to the man, where a curious look met him.
Save for the lack of a tail, his soul was like that of anyone from Plant. This was... interesting.
"What is it you wanted to talk about?" She got right to the point, and never stepped down from her cloud. It wasn't that she was trying to be rude, but even the cheap stuff was strong as hell on Plant.
The purple cloud slowly descends towards Derry as the demon he presumes was Rosemary continues drinking away. Without opening her mouth, the demon asks what it was that Derry wanted to talk about. As she was speaking, Derry couldn't help but hear some sort of angry chanting in the back of his mind, something he hasn't really quite experienced before. Was this perhaps some sort of effect Rosemary had on others when she speaks to them? If so, he might have some sort of potential use for something like that in the future, but now isn't exactly the time to bring that up. He has... other things to discuss.
"Yeah, a few things actually," Derry replies as he takes his sunglasses off and puts it away in his pocket. He grabs onto his box of cigarettes inside his pocket and grabs onto two sticks. He places one in his mouth and holds up the second towards Rosemary if she was interested in a quick smoke. With a snap of his fingers, the tip of his index finger is set aflame and he lights his stick and offers to light Rosemary's should she accept the cigarette. He continues after taking a puff, "Not entirely sure how dedicated you are to the Saiyan Kingdom itself, but... there's a certain tuffle that gave us a contract. In exchange for the Bloodthorne coffers, me and the boys are tasked with keepin' intruders outta tuffle territory."
He takes another puff before looking right at the purple cloud, thinking that he's seen this kind of thing a few times before back on Earth. He looks right back at the demon and continues, "It's a whole lotta money, so I couldn't really refuse. I came here in the hopes of reachin' a sorta understandin' since you probably wouldn't approve o' it. I've got a few things in mind to help smooth things over, though I'm open to acceptin' your own ideas."
Just like they, they had gotten down to business. Rosemary couldn't help but feel some respect for that, and for Derry's good sense in not wasting her time with pleasantries when they were uncalled for. However, she did still need to turn down his offer of a smoke, which illicited a small chuckle and an ironic tuft of her own power from the corner of her mouth.
"A Tuffle, eh?" The hybrid mused aloud before taking another drink and swilling it around in her mouth for a second. She recognized the name Bloodthorne, but couldn't remember exactly where from. Were they an older clan? Family names were a rarity in Vegeta, so she should have been better able to remember where it'd come from. For the life of her, however, nothing had come to mind. Still... "I see." She huffed, expelling another tuft of black smoke that washed over the male before rising harmlessly into the sky. Her eyes listed over him carefully for a few moments, though what she found was hardly worth worrying over.
She smirked in her smug fashion.
"In the interest of our... professional relationship, it's only fair to say: if the Snakes are working for the Tuffle, then you are my enemy, Derry." One hand brushed the hair from her face, and another tuft of smoke rose into the sky above. "Is that all you've been asked to do? Play bodyguard?" Hints of anger seeped into her voice, though whether by virtue of her self control or of the whiskey she had brought, Rosemary kept from attacking. Instead, she gestured for him to continue with a flick of her wrist, "Go on. I'm listening."
It seems as if Rosemary was already covered when it comes to smoking as a little cloud escapse the corner of her mouth as she and Derry were speaking. He shrugs slightly as he puts the stick back into one of his pockets, not even bothering putting it back into the box. Rosemary takes another swig of her whisky, and the crime boss looks at her with an eyebrow raised, wondering just how intoxicated she was, if at all. She was part demon and saiyan, so who knows how they handle drinks. She sends a puff of smoke into Derry's face, and he closes his eyes and waits for the cloud to disappear before opening them back up. By the time he can see again, her gaze was fixed on Derry and the hybrid was listening intently.
She points out how Derry is enemies with Rosemary if he's working with the tuffles, and he interrupts her little train of though, stating, "Not necessarily. Only if ya come on over to Tuffle territory an' cause a ruckus on their land. Otherwise, my boys and I are fine with ya. The guards with us might raise their weapons, but I can always, well, 'convince' them to hold their fire. Bodyguard duty's basically all we really got goin' on, but it gives us some... special permissions." Derry pauses for a moment to let Rosemary come to her own conclusions. She motions Derry to continue on with whatever offer he has in mind.
Derry clears his throat and continues, "See, we're basically the main defenders over on their territory while the others do their own thing. As such, if someone were to get past us, they could theoretically go just 'bout anywhere in tuffle land. So, how does almost free access to tuffle territory sound without everyone immediately wantin' ya dead?" The crime boss pauses yet again before offering, "'Course, I could always offer a cut o' the coffers if ya need a bit more convincin'. Any thoughts?"
"Heh." A small chuckle expelled another tuft of smoke from the corner of her mouth. The whole situation was so ridiculous it was almost funny. What was she supposed to say? His words had a point to them, and it was a very good offer, but something about the idea of working with the allies of the Tuffle made her skin crawl. Her stomach churned in nauseating fashion, sending her tail twitching slowly behind her.
"It sounds nice and all," Rosemary mused aloud, holding her chin between her thumb and finger in casual thought. "But what's the actual point of it? You do know that if I go into Tuffle territory, it's to fight?" Her natural suspicion of the Saiyans' long time enemy had won out in the recesses of her mind, and began to dominate the conversation a little more. A little more anger rose in her voice. "And that anyone who gets in my way will be crushed, just like the Tuffle?"
The hybrid stretched one boot to the ground, and lifted herself up off of the hellish cloud to stand at her full height before Derry. Her brow furrowed in frustration, and she set the remainder of her whiskey atop the cloud before it rose steadily into the sky and away from the pair.
"How's this? You tell me who is paying you and what you know, and I'll do what I can to spare you being torn apart by Oozaru when we win this war." Though she had refrained from attacking Derry, Rosemary's worse nature and instincts had taken control in the end. A light growl built in her throat, and her tail had fallen deathly still...
Derry could get the feeling that Rosemary was starting to slowly get more and more angry as their little conversation continues on. His offers clearly weren't enough to really appease the hybrid, and it almost feels like he's on a timer until she starts lashing out at him for daring to side with the tuffles. She makes her point about how if she were to go into tuffle territory, it would be to kill them and anyone who gets in their way. "It's not like I particularly care 'bout them tuffle soldiers," Derry comments as he starts pacing around her slowly. "If free passage into their territory ain't appealin', go right ahead, tear apart a few soldiers, see if I care. I'm just there to make sure the whole damn saiyan army don't come crashing down on them. My loyalty has a price, after all, and I always keep my options open."
He takes a quick puff of his cigarette, making sure to aim away from Rosemary before continuing, "Besides, I ain't layin' down my life for them little guys. Ain't no price high enough to get me to do that." The hybrid gets off of her cloud and stands up tall right in front of the boss before threatening him, demanding that he reveal who the buyer is and any information he has about them. Despite the fact that their power levels are similar, Derry really has no answer to her becoming a mighty Oozaru besides maybe finding a way out and cutting his losses. Still, he can't back down and tell her about the buyer, not without some cash.
"Threats ain't gonna get ya anywhere here, Rosemary. I didn't get this far in life just givin' in to every demand. If ya want information, ya get it like all my other customers: Either by payin' for it, or earnin' it. Just remember I didn't come here to squabble and fight ya, only to give ya an opportunity." He pauses to take another puff of his cigarette before tossing it aside despite it being only halfway done. "Think this through before makin' any rash decisions you might end up regrettin', Rosemary. I can always offer somethin' else aside from passage into tuffle territory, but unless ya got some extra pocket change, that kind o' information is off the table."
Her brow furrowed at the man's refusal, but still, Rosemary kept some semblance of self control enough to keep from belting him and beating the answers out of her... business partner. She had to remind herself that things were done very differently on Earth, and that honor, pride, and loyalty meant nothing to their pitiful people. After all, all it took was a few shiny coins for them to gleefully stab you in the back...
"Bah." The hybrid snarled and spat another tuft of smoke that rose slowly into the air. "Remember, Derry. Money may be god on your planet, but around here, that kind of thing won't save you when the monsters show up at your doorstep." Her snarl stretched and twisted, baring a few teeth at the alien and traitor. "And, we will come. We will destroy everything in our path. I suggest you think long and hard about where it is you stand. From where I'm looking..."
Rosemary's body began to smoke and become translucent, as her eyes glowed a faintly threatening red. "All I see is a coward following the money." Starting with her fingers and the tip of her tail, her body slowly evaporated as she spoke. "A word of advice: if you're going to take a side, don't run. Stand by your convictions to the very end." Finally, the smoke reached her throat and mouth, and the hybrid vanished from sight and sense with a final, telepathic parting message:
Things weren't going the way Derry wanted in this little meetup, with Rosemary only getting more and more frustrated at the crime boss siding with the Tuffles, with his only real chance of making amends now out of the window. He puts money over loyalty, and she does the exact opposite. Makes sense for someone like her who doesn't know how the galaxy really works, but it's still a bit of a shame. He'll have to find a brand new contact here on Plant. The demon saiyan's body begins to slowly turn into smoke as she continues her threats and telling him to die with dignity before disappearing completely. Nothing that he says to Rosemary will change her mind, and nothing she says will change his. The next time they meet, it would likely be on the battlefield.
Derry presses a single button on his scouter sunglasses to send out a quick message to all elite Dirty Snakes, stating, "Attention to all elites. Connections with the demon saiyan hybrid Rosemary has been severed. Remain on guard when encounterin' her, she will likely be hostile. Anyone who encounters her must let me know what happened. Unless given permission, none are allowed to aid her. Do keep an ear out in case she wishes to make amends." With another press of the button, Derry ends the broadcast and takes one last look around the wasteland around him. As of right now, he's in no condition to fight on par with a saiyan as strong as Rosemary. He'll have to fall back and find Hazel for the time being.
