Crotona brought herself back on board the rowboat, puzzled by Shako's meaning behind scanning. She stated that the creature was looking for something more suiting for him and assumed that it was the ship! Alaistair looked back at the ship, and then back to the whale creature. He pointed his thumb back to the vessel, asking, "You actually interested in that vessel? You're a bit..."
Alaistair paused, gesturing to the whale creature.
"Gigantic. The same size as the ship, from what I can see."
Shako huffed a garbled laugh, the mouth slightly moving as it did but not with the separate gasps. It was as if it took one singular one.
"I am," it replied, jovially, "And I have my ways... Give me the vessel."
Alaistair smiled back with a raised eyebrow, floating closer to the whale creature's Oni mask, getting within mere feet of its 3 eyes. He questioned, raising a finger up to it and saying, condescending to the creature, "You're quite a young one, aren't you? Maybe nearing your first century, right?"
This wasn't what the creature was expecting out of Alaistair. More, 'I won't let you,' or, in a panicked tone, 'It's yours'! This rubbed the creature off wrong, causing it to speak a little more clearly, although it's deep voice maintained, "Yes..? Uh, I'm sorry. Normally, people don't go asking my age. So, why are you asking my a-"
"Because you got me intrigued and may be interested in what you can do for my business, crew, and I. However, you and I need to talk when we're working," Alaistair interrupted, raising his index finger but not moving his mouth. His voice wasn't even audible to anyone else, yet it sounded to Shako that his voice was every where! Alaistair was speaking to its mind with his own, and this boggled the younger Oni creature.
It stammered, verbally, "Uhm... Yes. Sure. We can talk. The mask is attached to this mass of wreckage..."
Alaistair flashed a toothy grin, saying, "Then lets get you aboard!"
Before anything else could be said, the Captain grabbed one of the enormous canines with his left and the bottom lip of the mask with his other hand! He heaved the mask off, a billowing yelp coming from the creature as bright purple energy zapped all around the two. As it got further away from the body, the mask diminished in size and appeared to merge into that third eye on its forehead. By the time Al finished pulling it away, the metal sheets creating the whale body plummeted down below the waters, slowly falling to the sandy bottom. In addition, Alaistair was left, holding the mask's eye in his palm, which looked around side to side.
"Can you speak," Alaistair asked the red eye ball.
"That freaking hurt, but yes," it spoke, its voice diminished to a shrill tone, like it was a mouse, "I'd like you to NOT do that in future!"
"As I said, we'll talk later. You can explain how you work later. Right now, my crew and I wanna get this work done."
"O-Okay."
Alaistair turned back to Crotona on the rowboat, saying, "Alright, let me get you back on board and find you an island to go relax or whatever it is you intend to do."
