CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE:
BACKGROUND: Planet Hera, the once peaceful planet and home world of the Heran race, fell from grace to become a shadow of its former self, a hive of scum and villainy. A place where the notion of trust is but a long-forgotten concept, where even the idea of honor among thieves is laughed at, perhaps remembered with nostalgia by the older folks. In this lawless cityscape, the only culture is the culture of profit at all costs and culling the competition is common practice.
That isn’t to say, however, that the planet is only this god-forsaken hellhole. In the outskirts of the metropolitan area, small tribes live in seclusion, keeping themselves close to their culture and heritage. While no stranger to technology, they willingly choose to live off the land as hunter-gatherers, passing down their way of life to each generation. Contrary to their cousins from the city, they are more free-spirited in nature, but by no means this lifestyle made them any less ferocious and cunning. To survive in these inhospitable lands, these clans had to overcome both nature and frequent invaders, be it from the city or other dispersed clans across the planet.
Dosu was born in such a clan. Given the treacherous reality of the world he was brought into, he was soon taught the traditional fighting style of his people. It focused more on practicality than finesse, each technique passed down to him having a clear purpose, either to kill or disable opponents. While the people of Dosu’s clan were indeed loving and peaceful among themselves, the reality with outsiders was completely different. They weren’t so much hostile as they were completely indifferent to them, so long as they did not bother their way of life. If provoked, however, they would not hesitate to attack and kill, all in order to preserve their own. Their relation to death was a complex one. While they did grieve for their losses, it was more through celebrating their life than mourning their death. They firmly believed that positive attitude would facilitate integration in the afterlife, while mourning a death would attach their negative emotions onto the soul of the dead and corrupt it. However, this notion only applied to their kind. For outsiders and strangers alike, they did not consider their death to have the same value or importance. They took no pleasure in the act of killing nor was it prompted by any evil ideals. This action only existed to ensure their own existence, after all. They understood that life, at its core, was only a struggle and that they, too, were fundamentally no better than animals.
From a young age, Dosu proved himself to be a remarkable fighter, leading hunting parties from as early as his teenage years. The boy had basked in his people’s culture and felt a strong bond to the world around him. Despite enjoying life among his peers, he was drawn to the unknown, to the life that existed far beyond his reach. Aiming for the sky above was a dream of his, even if childish and futile. What he did not know, however, was that the stars would come right for him.
While out on a hunt, the young adult came across a space pod, its occupant having not survived the landing. His curiosity piqued, he jumped aboard it, slamming every buttons. To his bewilderment, the machine was brought to life and following the input of the auto-pilot sequence, he was propelled upwards in space.
For a short while, the Heran was able to marvel at the beauty of the “heavens” as his people called it, but the dream was short-lived. Upon landing, Dosu was left on a world that wasn’t his, unable to rejoin with his people. Keeping his lifestyle to heart, he fended for himself for a few years, striking fear into the hearts of the people of Plant, a war-torn planet.

COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUES:
Ignorance || Light OffensiveADDITIONAL NOTES: Rename the starter transformation to Wild Stance
Dosu claws at his target's face, attempting to blind them, whether it's momentarily or permanently
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2KP
Variants: N/A
Dead Calm || Light Defensive
Dosu calms his breathing, adapting to his opponent's rhythm. Using pre-initiative, he can react near-instantaneously to an attack, dodging it effortlessly.
Power: 60%
KP Cost: 2KP
Variants: Evasive
Burial Rites || Medium Offensive
A technique that involves a series of strikes aimed at different vital spots. This combination seeks to disrupt airflow in the target's body and weaken them.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4KP
Variants: Exhausting
Heart Jab || Heavy Sparking Technique
A precise hand spear strike that passes through the skin and muscles, under the ribcage, and tries to touch the heart, tapping it gently. The impact is strong enough to cause internal bleeding and, in the best case, cause the heart to stop beating.
Power: 90%
KP Cost: 6KP
Variants: Bleed, Bleed +, Careful.
Utility Technique || Feral Spirit
Damage received triggers an endorphin rush, enhancing his reflexes the more he is hurt. While this does not affect his power in any case, he can ignore the weariness and pain that comes with damage as long as it is not incapacitating in nature. Since it allows him to disregard his own health, it makes him even more reckless and prone to lapse in judgment in crisis situations.
Notes: Doesn't affect Power level in any way, it just allows Dosu to disregard damage received and trades the pain for an endorphin high. OOCly it changes nothing on his health threshold.
Utility Technique || Ripper's Touch
Due to his exceptional grip strength, Dosu can tear through flesh, armor, and metal as if it was butter. His grip strength is strong enough to crush limbs and bones if given the opportunity. Treats Dosu's melee attacks as if they were bladed weapon attacks. Opponents are able to defend themselves the same way they would against other weapons. The more extreme effects (anything other than shallow cuts) can only be used with player consent. Does not constitute an upgrade in power and has no mechanical effect. Prolonged use consumes energy, tiring him out faster.
