A tournament. Tri-seasonal. Last time the woman was too busy with school to ever indulge in watching it, even from a screen passively. Now she had the levity to just pick some days off to watch the whole scene. And with the Prelims already done with for the day, the young flame decided to head off from around the benches and view some of the attractions around the place. Which, there was plenty to choose from really. Such a big event invited a lot of merchants and companies to offer their own confections and entertainment. Especially between fights.
"Here ya go ma'am. One serving of quadruple-decked vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate and slathered in caramel."
A young man working a very simple ice cream shop had just dunked this large and stable layered cone of nonsense the young monk decided to get on her way viewing attractions. Whatever pays the bills, the orange top lady smiled and takes her cone. Already having paid. She gives a quaint wave to the man before heading out with a bit of a pep in her step.
Mid-way through her cone she'd spot some performers on a stage, crudely reenacting a fight with such crass sense of the characters they played that it was hard to tell whoever they were even playing. Didn't even look like it was from this year's Budokai. Taking a bit to stop and watch proved this, it was some stunt they wrote a script of from the 24th. Beyond being crude and obviously for the show she'd stand there and watch for a bit.
"Now see, I wish I could be paid to be a Vagabond. Just, go around and observe all the strange people around me..."
Jackie was talking to herself. Aside from catching the eyes of a few people nearby also watching the show, she was pretty much alone in her loud thoughts here. Anything to drown out the bit of drama happening on stage. The choreography was better than the acting, somehow.
"No... No way! You can't be serious, where were you hiding this power!?"
One of the actors gave it their all, dressed in what counts as a gi. Without the top. Well built man and he'd dressed up to look battle damage. He was overselling his lines though. His partner in crime upstage wasn't much better, floating gracefully in the air with a hand outstretched. Ready to send whatever crystal orb he was subbing in as a ki blast at him.
"Prepare yourself! You aren't going to survive this!"
There was a tiny part in Jackie that wanted to pry herself away from this. As campy as it was, it was also a bit cringe-inducing when she knew how these things actually transpired.
