CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
Standing just above average height for an Arcosian, Rime has a dark blue skin tone, along with white, chitinous plating that covers his chest and forearms. There are grey streaks down the skin on the side of his face, and on the top of his head is a chitinous, protective exoskeleton that looks similar to a helmet. In the middle of this 'helmet' is a large, jewel-like piece of his body that is sheer black while shining and reflecting, similar to an onyx. While many of his kin leave their feet uncovered, Rime is often seen wearing Arcosian military-style boots, thinking it impolite to walk around with bare feet.
BACKGROUND:
Born to a family of shipwrights on Arcose, Rime's line was not destined for greatness, and neither was he. One of the most minor possible families of the Arcosian race, his birth right was to grow up, to learn how ships could be designed, built and repaired. Then, he was to spend his years doing that, with little ambition. His parents were staunch and stubborn people, believing firmly in their duty and being proud of it. Rime was a middle child, and he grew used to being looked over for treatment; he was not his older brother, who was the son their parents wanted. He was not his younger sister, who could appeal to what fleeting thoughts of affection they had.
At first, Rime seemed to take well to ship design. He was excellent at keeping track of every part, every detail. Yet, he found the work dreadfully dull. He disliked the monotony of it, how in essence every ship was the exact same. There was little challenge in the work for him, no stimulation of his senses. Whenever he had finished helping at the spaceport, he would retreat to read dramas, to stories of intrigues and the history of the Arcosian Emperors' courts. He was enraptured by it all.
He did not struggle to make friends, but he always felt out of place amongst his own kind. Many were far more naturally powerful, with more life goals, with loftier ambitions, while all he wanted was to climb out of manual labour on a noble's transportation vessel. Eventually, he found something he was really good at; manipulation. He could convince people, whether they were his friends, strangers, even those that hated him, to do what he wanted. All his practice with details had paid off - he could pay attention to body language, tone of voice, know someone from the way that they walked.
Yet, that did not make his station any higher. Refusing to be left in obscurity, Rime disappeared from his family home and enlisted in the military. His test scores and a showing of some natural speed got him a place in a special detachment; assigned to scouting and reconaissance, he was trained to be able to hide his energy signature and perform hit-and-run attacks, watching for any important detail their unit commander needed.
Though Rime lacked some natural power, he excelled in application of tactics and the finer points of combat. He was able to thoroughly assess an opponent in record time, and was not shy about exploiting any weakness he could find. He tuned what hand-to-hand combat arts he learned to his liking, and was recognised for his progress.
On a simple scouting mission to assess the defences of a world in the middle of conquest, Rime's team was caught in an ambush. The enemy's numbers and forces were overwhelming, and he was left as the only survivor, retreating as he continually sent intelligence back to his commanding officer. Somehow, he survived his entire trek back to home base while being pursued, only to collapse upon arriving. For his service, Rime was promoted, and soon was requested by Intelligence.
Working in Military Intelligence was the first job that Rime truly enjoyed. He liked finding the details in reports, interrogation, even in the few reconaissance missions he was still performing, as now the intelligence was for himself to collect, decipher and report, rather than another man with a higher rank. His service was continually met with rewards, and after being commissioned as an officer, he was soon made a Captain of his own detachment.
Yet, Rime did not find what he was looking for. His constant progress had been satisfying, and through consistent training and practice, he could now even hold his true form without difficulty. Yet, he didn't see himself ending his life having always served in the military, despite it being all he had ever really known as an adult.
Rime requested a leave of absence, and a transfer back to the capital, which shocked his superiors, who wondered why he seemed to be delaying his own career progression. He continues to struggle with his idea that a sort of 'soft' power is safer, as the intoxicating idea of becoming physically powerful on his own continues to tempt him.
Without anyone to hold him back, Rime seeks both with ruthless abandon; to be both strong politically and in sheer power, grabbing and taking the things that he wasn't handed.

Defensive Light || CountermeasuresADDITIONAL NOTES:
Rime focuses on dodging and parrying his opponent's attacks, whether swaying around them with his rather swift movements or catching attacks through careful ki control and baring through it as best he can.
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: N/A
Offensive Light || Cold Combination
Rime makes use of his own style of Arcosian martial arts, attacking with a sequence of combinations, utilising all four of his limbs as well as his tail to try and prod at an enemy's defences before suddenly rushing to exploit any hole he can find in them.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Variants: N/A
Offensive Light || Glacial Strike
Using his ki to significantly power up his strength, Rime aims for a single, powerful strike at a more vulnerable area of his opponent, trying to immediately maximize damage with sudden speed.
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: N/A
Offense Medium || Seeker Ball
Rime prepares a simple ki orb made of red energy, which continually pulses with power. With simple getures using his hands, fingers or even just his eyes, the ball follows and rushes after an opponent, attempting to slam into them and detonate.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Homing
Defensive Medium || Permafrost
Focusing his ki, Rime creates what appears to be a shiny, thin shield of clear energy around himself that clings tightly to his body. This acts as extra padding and armour, and remains attached to Rime until it is either broken or the energy he has invested in it finally fizzles.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Sustained
Defensive Medium || Shocking Speed
Concentrating his ki within his body down to an incredibly narrow flow, Rime increases his speed rapidly and uses it to dodge blows, ki attacks and to even seem to disappear for a moment as he leaves an afterimage.
Power: 90%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Evasive
Defensive Medium || Crystal Counter
Rime hardens his bio armour and focuses his ki on his speed and dexterity, letting him parry and dodge an opponent's attacks with more deft movements than usual. His bio-armour and the gemstone-like growths an Arcosian sports become almost impossible to break through.
Power: 70%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: N/A
Offensive Heavy || Ravager Shot
Rime aims with his finger, building a concentrated blast of red energy designed to pierce straight through an opponent, hopefully hitting somewhere vital.
Power: 70%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: Piercing
SPARKING Offensive Medium || Vengeance Blast
Rime focues all of his energy into either one hand being braced, or both of them. As he charges the attack, he focuses on using his speed to dodge around, appearing to disappear and reappear around the opponent, so that he can suddenly attack at close-range with the blast where their guard has been lowered.
Power: 90%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Counter
Utility || Flight
Through manipulation of his ki, Rime is able to take flight into the air.
Utility || Assessment (Ki sensing)
Through a combination of ki sensing and his own innate instincts for reading others, Rime is able to tell at a glance how powerful and capable another person is.
Utility || Planetary Telepathy
As a result of serious training and focusing on the latent psychic potential of his race, Rime is able to telepathically communicate with others on the same planet as him.
