It had been, what Dion believed to have been at least weeks now, since Amara has re-entered the young Hofferson siblings' lives in full glory. It was definitely something that the brotherly duo had to get used to, in both basic living conditions and really just mental comprehension wise, but, it was safe to say that they've been through and endured much worse than the welcome return of one of the most pivotal people in their lives. Although, Dion would be lying if he wished he had started off on a better foot with who was his very first friend in his life.
And perhaps a part of that regret was on his own hands for wroughting on- considering he hadn't been really trying to put the effort into interacting with her in the first place. Though, seeing her abrasive attitude taken toward his own much more meeker personality, it, was understandable at times to see why. While admittedly perturbed, Dion however had been determined as well to try and work up the will to at least eventually come to have a genuine interaction with the girl he thought he had been so close to all those years ago- building up social prowess and ability through pushing himself constantly into social situations and circumstances that he never would have even thought of getting himself into if it weren't for the prospect of actually being good company toward Amara acting as a goal to reach through such action taken.
Even if at times it was utterly unbearable to have put himself out there like he did at times, with the fighting festival with Krim and his own initial run in with Delia being prime examples, if it meant that he even had the slightest chance of being as close to Amara like he used to be, well, he was ready to do it. Even if she didn't realize the impact she had on him, Dion most definitely did. And, the young man was also more than aware of the strain her past had brought unto her shoulders, so, if he could even take a small bit of burden off of her back, he would do it.
But, he wouldn't be able to do anything if he couldn't even hold a decent conversation with the woman for more than several seconds without either Amara getting pissed off somehow or him chickening out in some manner.
So, he practiced, and practiced, and practiced, with as many people, places, and situations as he could, before eventually Dion seemed to have been gifted by the forces beyond with an opportunity to see how far he came. Coming up was the annual Tenkaichi Budokai, and considering Amara's warrior background, the young man was not surprised to have heard she was one of the very first people to have signed up for such a competition. He was initially concerned with her being able to stay undercover in such a public display of strength, but, he'd rather not doubt the girl and potentially get on her bad side any more than he possibly already did.
Instead, he watched her progress from afar, in the form of passing glances on the way to the more inner parts of Papaya Island for errand running, and then calculative looks cast over her from behind the bar whenever she returned from her daily training sessions beachside.
However, the "admiring from afar" bit was something he hoped to put an end to today. It was nearing the date for the preliminary rounds for the Budokai Tenakichi, and that meant Amara, while still pushing herself quite hard, did grant herself a bit of a respite in order to ensure she wouldn't be going into the competition too drained. Which meant that there was a much more sizable period of downtime in the midst of her training sessions on the sandy coast.
Which meant an ample amount of time for Dion to try and bridge the more than decades long gap that now faced the two of them.
Deciding that he didn't just, want to go to her empty handed, Dion did end up whipping up a post training meal to bring to her, in the form of a high protein nutrient-filled meal consisting of grilled chicken and roasted vegetables piled on the side. With an extra large jug of water to boot.
With that all tied up in a plastic bag with a neat little bow on top, the self-made Saiyan now made his way out from the Diono's and immediately beelined it a few miles down the coastline, where he knew a certain piece of secluded beach that Amara was sure to be training on.
And sure enough, as Dion approached from above, his eyes caught glimpse of the wrathful woman seemingly finishing off a set of combat movements as he began to slowly descend. In order to try not to interrupt her flow too much, he landed about a hundred or so yards behind Amara, only beginning to approach once she would noticeably slow down and in turn signal that she would be taking her break soon.
Once he closed the distance, had taken an appropriate number of readying breaths, and was sure Amara was set to take five, the warmhearted Wonderboy gave her a small wave, asking in a surprisingly steady tone for a man of his character, "Hey, Amara. Mind if I keep you company for a bit?"
