Narissa

Princess of the planet Hera, Narissa is the youngest of five siblings born to the planet's current warlord. Her father, Narcisus, belongs to an ancient bloodline. The roots of which trace back to one of the first Heran's to sit upon the throne. A pedigree to be proud of, or so her father tells her. Truthfully, Narissa has always felt disconnected from her family and people. War and conquest, violence and bloodshed - the Heran way of life. It's never been something that's spoken to her.

From a young age, it was apparent that she was different. While her siblings were off training and mastering the martial arts. Narissa was tearing apart scouters and energy blasters. Trying to piece together how they worked, how their circuits connected, and their gears turned. Her father called it a phase, but Narissa knew it was more than that. All she wanted to do was invent and tinker with machines. Royal obligations demanded otherwise. Narcisus could have no weak children.

Forced to train, Narissa only gave a modicum of effort. She struggled to stay on par with her brothers. Who frequently left her behind as they soared to new heights. The more she failed, the more her father pushed her. Depression and stress swallowed Narissa whole for years while she struggled to meet her father's expectations. Stolen moments to tinker and the loving ear of her brother Dubious were all that kept her sane. Without them, she'd have drowned.

The cusp of her eighteenth birthday brought with it change. By order of her father, Narissa would undergo the Heran Rite of Passage. She would prove her worth by conquering a planet in his name. If Narissa failed to do so in a year, then Narcisus would disown her. He'd exile her not only from Hera but from her family.

Narissa departed from Hera, anxious about the road she was about to walk.
