CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE:
PERSONALITY: Oud is a cruel, cunning and conceited individual. He is a being who strives for nothing but to obtain his goal: to become the most powerful Namekian and to use his influence to steer the Namekian race into, what he perceives, is the true direction of conquest—to spread the Namekian populace across the stars instead of living peaceful lives with no intention of striving to become something greater.
As one might suspect from his overall look and demeanour, Oud does not tend to take conflict into his own hands. Rather, he will begin by manipulating events and individuals to suit his needs and to fit his narrative, often portraying himself as an innocent scholar to lure others to his side and to have them fight his own battles. Other times, Oud will instruct his minions to attack in his stead, acting as his frontline while he provides backline offense or support. In the occasion where he is not able to do one of these two things, Oud will face enemies head on if he is certain of victory, or will proceed to retreat should he find himself outclassed, outmatched or outnumbered.
Because of his former role as adviser, Oud is incredibly charismatic with a silver tongue. During his tenure he has learned to quickly read people, to find way to manipulate their desires to fit his needs or by targeting their psychological Achilles' heel—past trauma, their inner demons, their greatest fears, and the like. He will get his targets to open up to him, to trust him, and then ensnare them in his charismatic grip. Many consider this to be his greatest weapon.
While often calm and conserved, even going as far as to praise his enemies for their skill and power, Oud will at times display his impatience and anger, especially to hose who try to hinder or stop him from completing his goal. In such cases, he may even be the first to attack in lieu of letting his minions act as his shield.
As magister to the former Guru, Oud has spent much of his time dabbling and delving into the magical arts that are usually associated with the Dragon Clan in an effort to unlocking the secrets behind their power. His studies have become ever more ferocious after being exiled.
BACKGROUND: Oud was born in the year 848, although there is no recollection in any textbooks or historical documentation as to who he was "fathered" by, nor what the majority of his early life was like. Some say that he was born to a powerful lord; others say he was just a child from a modest farming family; but the general consensus was that he just appeared one day and offered his services to the planet's Dragon Clan
During the years between Age 868 - 898 Oud had provided his services as an adviser and, informally a 'magister', using his magic to help not only the Dragon Clan but also the rest of the natives of planet Namek. Many of its people, particularly that of warriors from the Warrior Clan, had sought his wisdom and divination to tell them of their fortunes, of their futures. Other times they would seek his favour so that he might help them when they needed it. Oud was content with his position for many years.
However, in time, Oud felt his necessity to help others become dull, become estranged. Viewing the Namekian people as a stagnant race with no intention of evolving past what they were potentially capable of, he began to study further into the old texts of the past leaders and powerful individuals of the namekian race—his role as adviser gave him unrestricted access to whatever materials he needed. He began to read, and learn, and practice what he could. As time went by, Oud became more and more secluded, buried in his books, buried in his ever-growing lust for power. It became rare for Oud to make any sort of appearance, even alongside his peers of equal position.
By Age 910, Oud's practical studies became more dark, more sinister, more unethical. He had begun to lure Namekians into his chambers, using them as living test subjects for his magical powers in order to better understand how and why these powers reacted and concluded as they did. As more and more of these tests were finalized, Oud was beginning to understand the very nature and principle of magic, and how to apply it in any manner, shape or form he desired.
In time, Oud had understood one of the very few things that not many Namekians understood: the concept of fusion and fission. He had begun to use various equipment to construct crude chambers in which he would encapsulate his various subjects into, all to be able to extract their powers and into his own not unlike that of Namekian fusion. One by one, potentially powerful Namekians were subjected to these pods, only to die as their life force was drained from their bodies.
As Oud was becoming ever closer to reaching the power he desired, he was discovered by a band of warriors under the Dragon and Warrior Clans' orders to investigate his whereabouts. A battle ensued within the hidden chamber. In the end, Oud was able to slay his attackers. Knowing he had been discovered and would soon be targeted, he went into hiding in the Northern Scar in Age 914.
