He really did it. His whole life was spent on Namek; he imagined it would always be that way. But today, right now, stepping out of his ship he welcomed the sight of Planet Plant. The current state of affairs reminded of him of Namek: two factions caught in a loose peace just waiting for a fight to break out. That was how he saw Namek though, many of his brethren likely saw it as a time to make peace, not war, but the Saiyans were very much unlike his brethren. They were ready for war; they were praying for it.
Though he didn't want Saiyans anywhere near his own home world, things had changed now. A part of him felt like he was abandoning his people by leaving, but they weren't ready to accept him. That's the whole reason why he was here now; looking for a way to force himself onto them. If they weren't willing to take his guidance through words alone then he'd leave and bring it back through swords and flames. He spoke against the likes of Saiyans stepping foot on Namek not too long ago, and now he had hopes to bring an army back with him; how hypocritical.
But this was different, right? He needed help and whether he liked it or not these people may be his best shot at asserting his rightful dominance. There was a large hurdle that needed overcoming though, the issue of the Saiyan leadership. As it stood there wasn't any reigning monarch atop the Saiyans, not did the Tuffles have a ruler either. Though he sympathized with the plight of the Tuffles, and even saw some of his own people's struggles in them... they were not his people. If helping the Saiyans clean up their own backyard would progress his own plans then so be it.
So what was his plan? Help the Saiyans win their war, as much as it pained him to do so. If he could help earn the trust of the next Saiyan monarch then perhaps he could help persuade them to turn their attention to Namek once the Tuffles were taken care of. Namek had little defenses which should make for a comfortably conquest. Then all he had to do was convince the Saiyan leadership to place him in charge of Namek. Then they would leave and he could pursue other avenues, but first he needed to find the right candidate to back.
He didn't want to be on the losing side of course, but if he waited around until a victor emerged he couldn't guarantee a place in the next regime. After all, at that point hundreds, if not thousands would be seeking the favor of the king. He needed to have the sovereign's ear before they took charge, ensuring he'd have a seat at the table when all was said and done. But who was the right person? He didn't know the politics of the land very well at this point; searching the capital for the highest power would be a good start.
