Cheri nodded at Nasu’s interpretation. Was she agreeing, or was she simply acknowledging? It was hard to know.
”Good and evil, sure. I’ve seen too much to not.” She’d seen far too many saiyans attacking innocent tuffles out of spite, or worse. ”Objective morality doesn’t end up working quite so well in so strange and complicated a world, but the concepts of good and evil survive in subjectivity just fine.” Little did Cheri know that the objective merits of her life would be used to decide her fate in death. ”A solid sense of right and wrong will serve you well.”
Nasu touched on something that Cheri herself had briefly mentioned in passing: the possibility of the war ending not through a victory of one side seeing the destruction of the other, but through the victory of all through peace. ”The tuffles generally, no. The war has been too long and too costly.” Many, many tuffles had died. If the saiyans had never arrived, Plant never would have reached such a sorry state. ”Theirs is a grudge not so easily forgiven.” But Cheri found it in herself to smile as she thought of the saiyans who called for peace, who called for an end to the slaughter, who had admitted to her that they’d just wish it all end— they were few, but they were many. Lastly, she thought to Garrick and held his image in her mind. ”But I manage to hold out hope.” If it was at all possible it would either have to happen by force, or with heavy concessions that the saiyans simply would never accept. For the saiyans themselves, they had fallen into a sunken cost fallacy: they could not try to move planet now, for they had already spent so much to take this one.
While she didn’t verbally respond, Cheri winced a bit at the comment about old dogs and new tricks. They were both in their forties! That wasn’t old! But, she made sure to keep that out of mind as she attentively listened to his story. ”Hm. Sounds like it could be the plot of a popular play.” She did not mean this derisively, only as an aside. Also, Cheri, you hypocrite, you’re just a Juliet who happened to live. She regarded the contradiction of the pacifists driven to kill in light of the philosophy of the paradox of tolerance: which was to say, the idea that a society that maximised tolerance must be intolerant to the intolerant. ”I understand.” And she meant that legitimately.
But, as promised, after his answer, the ki blasts come in flooding! Nasu charged through them. It only took a few moments for Nasu to surpass them and reach Cheri herself! He kicked once, twice, three times… but, for each kick, Cheri caught it with her hand. And, upon closer inspection… the details of technology had returned! Cheri had collected the kinetic energy of those kicks and, with a bit more oomph of her own, sent all that kinetic energy back at him in a blast of power!
”You are a dutiful guardian in search for something larger than yourself to dedicate yourself to, yes? An honourable paladin to a grand ideal. Well…” Cheri would smile, authentically and warmly. Even though the two were locked in combat (even if a spar), she would offer her right hand. If he were on the floor, he could use it to get up; otherwise, it was just a forearm handshake. Or, not just a forearm handshake. ”... What would you say if I had something in mind?”

Cheri uses the Powercatch (1,500PL, Reflective) against Triple Force (1,000PL), bringing it down to 500PL. However, because of Reflective, this goes up to 1,500PL and moves towards Nasu!
PL: 0/6
