The Small Camp Assault - Invited

Onnio was finally relaxing, stretching out on a cot inside the small camp that was Buster Corps HQ. It was nothing to look at, really. It had once-upon-a-time been a spaceship, one that the entire Corps had ran missions aboard. But after a bad crash landing, and a series of misfortunes that led to a lack of repair funds, it had languished here, out in the Wastes near the Mercenary Outpost, a final farewell to the glory-days-gone-by, a crater where the last hurrah of the once-fabled warband slept, forever.

He'd taken his monthly shower, and was clean as a whistle. He'd fixed up his armor as best he could too, repairing the big cracks, fixing what he could, mitigating what he couldn't. He was in full fighting shape, so to speak. The cots to his left and right were empty -- killed on the last assignment -- but Onnio didn't like to think about that. No one else at Buster Corps HQ liked to talk about it either -- that kind of talk could get you headlocked by the boss lickety-split. So for now, Onnio relaxed, content as he listened to the rain outside drum against the rusting hull of the fallen mothership.

Just before he fell into a slumber, dreaming of wars and conquests, the alarm bell rang. Onnio shot up with a start. The last time it rang was years and years ago, when it was crash-landing on Planet Plant. "Huh?!" Onnio asked. "Are we crashing?" 

Realizing they couldn't possibly be crashing, since they already did, Onnio donned his armor and sped outside. At the perimeter of the small camp was absolute chaos.

Several Buster Corps members were already in a fray with metal-suited Tuffles, who were flying around on what looked to be... some kind of long foot thingies.

Captain Calcot, leader of the of the Buster Corps, was out there in the rain too, complaining loudly about having to do the job himself, holding a bucket of saiba-chicken in one arm while using the other to fend off a Tuffle attacker.

Now's my time to shine! Onnio thought gleefully, speeding up into the air. Turning his arm cannon on, comforted by its familiar whine, only set the nozzle to a fan shape and sprayed it across the incoming Tuffle squad, blasting armored foes into bits.

The fight was on!

Aiming for the enemy boss, who was for some reason color-coordinated to easily identify, Onnio swept out with a hard kick, hoping to knock his stupid red-eyed helmet off with one clean swipe of his foot. But it didn't quite work out the way he intended. Few things in battle ever went as planned.

Just like now. Onnio had a knife sticking out of his leg. That wasn't part of the plan! It was a gorgeous, golden knife. His entire leg was numbed from the shock and the force. The captain, in his counter attack, had swiftly (and quite easily) bested him. That's going to leave a scar Onnio thought as the knife dug in deep, leaving a gush of scarlet to run rivulets down his leg.

That limb already turning numb, Onnio did his best to compensate.

Summoning energy from the depths of his life-force, Onnio threw a flame-soaked haymaker right for Yangcong's dumb Tuffle head!

"SHERBERT SHAKE!" 

It was one of Onnio's best moves, though he wasn't sure it would matter. Still, he threw it with all his oomph, the flaming fist swinging towards the big dumb bucket of Tuffle tech with all his oomph. The others of the Buster Corps fought as best they could too, and mostly did better than Onnio. Whoever this was he was up against, it wasn't the typical Tuffle.

Onnio grumbled as his helmet was split in two, falling away like two halves of an eggshell. That was the second time this year. Helmet glue was expensive. But right now, he was more worried about the bleeding leg. It was pretty bad, and he wasn't sure how to stop it.

Then, the Tuffle cretin started going on about Destron Gas and whether Onnio would like some. "You don't have any, stop your bullshit!" Destron gas had been all used up, decades ago. If the Tuffles had any more, they surely would have used it by now. The rest were trapped in the clouds, in the ruins that the Tuffles made in their blind desperation. "You're all out of it! So go ahead, spray me with whatever mustard-based crap you've got. I can take it." He sneered, steering his skinny self out of Yangcong's grasp to face him.

The Buster Corps had taken casualties, but so had the Tuffles. It wouldn't be a total wash, either way it went. And Captain Colcot was still fighting, some of his past glory coming back as he raged in the battlefield.

"You must be a pretty big deal with the Tuffles, as I've never fought anything near as tough as you!" He yelled. "So what brings you to a small camp of Low-Class soldiers like ours? Brain dead move, if you ask me!"

Hey Yang, I'm not sure how kosher using Destron Gas is in a rando RP thread. Maybe they have an off-brand version? Destron was kind of a BIG DEAL when it was released on the Planet. Do the Tuffles still have it laying around? I wouldn't guess so. More importantly: Destron was during a past iteration a mechanical weapon that lowered participant PL.

That's it. Onnio was finished.

All he could do was stand there and get blown up. Fake Destron or not, the missiles hit with enough oomph to heave him out of the area entirely, and also destroy much of the camp. He could only hope, in his battered and quickly-fading mind, that enough of the Buster Corps had escaped the onslaught of the missiles.

I hope I don't have to repair my armor again. Onnio thought dumbly as he was flung from the campsite into a crag. Bouncing hard off a rock, the Saiyan warrior tumbled down into the shadows, his mind following his body as it too descended into the darkness of unconsciousness.

Utterly beaten, he floated in void of mindlessness. The landing was in some ways lucky -- the gas didn't kill him, like it did some of his unit. Others of the Buster Corps did indeed manage to escape, including his crafty Captain Colcot, who, despite his fading battle point, still had a strong instinct for survival.

Their old spaceship was another story. It was blasted to smithereens, and nothing was salvageable. The Tuffles had scored a victory against one Corps of the Saiyan Army. Did the ceasefire matter anymore?


Onnio has sustained 150+ damage, knocking him out. I guess that also means we both EXIT, unless you plan to invade his dreams? :O
