Beowulf had gone through many weeks of hell at the Hare School dojo. The small house atop a massive mountain was the closest thing the old lady had to a dojo that was. Day after day, the white haired warrior had been hard at work training. His fists hit the same rocks, his energy blasts touched the same skies, and his mind memorized the same techniques. He had created a routine life style with this training, and it's uncomfortable nature would be something he adapted to. There was one thing he would never get use to however...
the young man would walk inside, shirtless and sweating from his long day of training. Master Kioshi would be there to greet him "Oh Beowulf, my strong young man!" before slapping him on the butt. "--Uhr... Master..." he would grunt. "Oh, sorry dearie, I must have tripped! Oh ho ho ho!"
Aside from the occasional spout of harassment from the old bat, he had to admit she was a pretty good teacher. As time passed however, he found his training getting easier, as if he was learning the same things over and over. Repetition was never a bad thing, but learning new techniques was also important. He would go to bed that night with many thoughts plaguing his mind. how would he become stronger? he had already managed to master Hare School's best techniques... maybe it was time for him to seek out another dojo, or another master. It would be sad to leave the old crone, but maybe it would be for the best?
With confusion and anxiety on his mind, the young warrior would close his eyes, and begin sleeping in his bed. As he laid down however, something felt strange. His eyes would open. No longer was he in his bed, but laying down on blue grass. he would try to stand up, but feel a heavy amount of pressure weighing him down. This place would strange, and confusing. He felt like he was both awake and asleep at the same time!
Standing next to a cube-shaped house and a blue truck was a young-looking boy with blue hair, sunglasses, and pointed ears. The fellow seemed to have no problem at all standing up, and walked right over to Beowulf while holding a glass of some kind. "Hey hey! Look who showed up. Finally someone with enough power, anxiety, and sleep deprivation that I get a visit! Care for a glass of lemonade? It sure can get humid around here!" The boy couldn't have been much older than 11 based on what Beowulf could tell, this was crazy. "Huh? Lemonade? I can't even move my body! Where am I? How can you even move around here?!"
The young boy would side down in a chair outside the small cube house. "Oh that's right, sorry. Should have started with introductions first! Long story short, I'm a shinjin with aspirations of becoming a kai! The bossman North Kai said I wasn't allowed to do anything crazy, so I ignored him to stick it to the man! I used a combination of magical abilities and crafty ki control to create this little floating island! Kinda like the big shot's planet, but a bit more uh... Flat, yeah, flat!"
All this talk just confused Beowulf, as he knew very little about the Kais or Shinjin. he just knew they were something like gods. Why would he be anywhere near on of them? He hadn't died or anything crazy. "You're like a... kai in training?"
The kid would tilt his head before explaining "wellllllll, not exactly... Kai's have to be chosen, but in order to be chosen you have to have experience! Without a Kai position, you can't get experience! It's a vicious cycle you see... So, long story short, I decided to create my own world and position!"
Beowulf would look around at the tiny floating island in space. It didn't look like a full-on world to say the least, more like a pebble. "So, how did I get here then!?" The kid would chuckle a bit "Well, every Kai has to be in charge of something... No one was monitoring the dreams of the North Galaxy, so, I declared myself North Kai of Dreams! But, you can call me Kid Kai for short. I'm one of the youngest around after all."
So that was it then, Beowulf was dreaming the whole thing and somehow ended up on this kid's world through dreams. "So, this is a projection of my actual body or something? Then why do I feel so heavy? Also, how young are you exactly?" The kai would think for a moment then shrug "Uhh-- Magic I guess... Anyway, you're here for a reason my friend! Ya see, all the best kai's have champions, but I've got no one! You were the first person to ever show up here, making you my very first champion! Also, I turned three yesterday!"
Beowulf would be flabbergasted as the kai stated his age, "Uhh-- Happy Birthday?" The Kai would then nod "Thank you! Now, as my champion, when you do good deeds in the North Galaxy, I'll take the credit! Heh heh heh... Of course, I'll hook you up with some sweet moves that put old Uncle North Kai's to shame! That way we have a give take relationship! Sound cool? Cool! I'll see you again tomorrow night, bye!"
A portal would open beneath Beowulf's body, causing him to fall in! After a long fall, he would wake up in his bed again... Safe and sound. "Woah, that was one hell of a dream!"
