After the war, Rye went back to the Capital. When the Queen took over it was a distinct change for the Saiyan people, something of a new age. And if given enough time, with enough nurturing, he was quite sure that his people would come out of this irreparably changed for the better. The nation was left in an enviable position, he had no doubt threats both external and internal would seek to utilize this new era of discord and progression to achieve their own aims. That even the most well-intentioned Saiyan might be led astray by their baser instincts and such thing simply could not be tolerated. Rye spent much of his time in the public forum being a staunch royalist, debating with full throated roars against those who would halt their progression.
It has not done wonders for his name. But his name and good reputation was a small price to pay for the advancement of his people. He would drag them kicking and screaming into the new era if need be. Although the Queen was perhaps a bit too good natured, a bit too trusting, she had ideas that the people needed. But in the meantime, Rye would need to depart the capitol to focus his attention on other matters. Tatsui, his childhood friend, had reconnected with him some months ago. It seemed they shared the same goals and ideals in supporting the new Kingdom. It was only natural he be brought on as the Chief Financial Officer of her company, a company he recalled her parents owning.
He didn't question the change in leadership, like how he guessed she didn't question his new standing in society. It appeared dead parents were becoming a dime a dozen.
Standing at the precipice of a cliff face he would be holding a notebook and pen, sketching the landscape. It was a skill he picked up while serving on the frontlines, and the academy. Even with all their power terrain could be a great tool for a warrior, to know their battlefield was to know their advantages and disadvantages. So spending time scouting landscapes, and committing them to memory, had become an essential skill for Rye. Something his comrades didn't share with him. But now he could put these skills to use here, sketching notes alongside his drawing of potential deposits of raw minerals that could fuel the Saiyan Empire.
Truth be told the fact no one on the Saiyan side of the world had invested in mining out their land, of digging for precious metals which could fuel their expansion, was a severe oversight. He supposed it had something to do with the deadly conflicts Saiyans often got themselves into and with their culture having been more focused on stealing and plundering than creating- it was a problem no one cared to fix. He'd take a moment to hand the sketch over to Tatsui, who had been next to him this entire time.
"I reckon this place has several deposits of some value. At least something to get the machine churning but if we want a clearer picture, we'd need to break ground. The issue being this place, well it's a spot where Saiyans come to fight a lot. We might need some support from the new government if we want to be able to mine without issue." He'd explain crossing his arms, squinting at the distant landscape.
