UPDATE - SUMMARY OF INCIDENT REPORT 789_041223
Date: 4th December 1023 [04/12/23]
Time at start of incident: 12:23
At 12:23 a previously undetected fault in the power grid cuts off power to the containment cell of ███-789, due to the highly destructive nature of the entity and its hostility towards sentient lifeforms, a response unit composed of Newman, Roche and Yatto are dispatched to the area with Psyche-suppressant units in order to temporarily pacify 789 until proper containment measures can be reestablished. The team approaches the chamber at 12:29, Newman is directed to remain at the entrance with the first suppressor and establish the field while Roshe and Yatto enter the room and attempt to move the other units into position.
Note: The following sequence of events is reconstructed from live camera feeds and evidence gathered after 789 is returned to containment due to total communication breakdown between the response team and command.
In response to Newman activating his unit, 789 immediately enters an agitated state and sends out a wave of psionic energy, communication lost with Yatto and Roche as their bodies ██████████████ on the camera feed, they are declared deceased.
Newman is observed backing out of the chamber, his sense of balance appears disrupted and he declines or is unable to respond to multiple vocal commands sent through his communicator before appearing to collapse*. ██ seconds pass before movement is made and he attempts to crawl down the hall, dark stains visible on the floor as he moves further from the containment area. Continued movement appears to accelerate previous symptoms and portions of Newman's body lose structural cohesion or become fully separated from the central mass. The rapid decline of his condition eventually forces Newman to completely cease movement shortly after.
*Due to being shielded behind the only active suppressor, Newman is theorised to have been experiencing a weakened variant of 789’s ability with a delayed onset.
Power is able to be reconnected to the area █ minutes after this event, 789 does not move from its containment cell due to effectively being pacified after the successful absorption of the other two agents.
Originally assumed deceased, Newman's remains would have been sent to an anomalous waste disposal area so they could be dealt with according to protocol. However, initial onsite examination displayed weakened energy signals detectable even in sections of fully transformed tissue along with diminished brain activity. This revelation had Newman's body along with other tissue samples instead relocated to a cryopreservation chamber so they can be kept for further analysis or potential revival operations.

After previous tests had allowed 108 to showcase its abilities to work on subjects experiencing variations on forms of tissue, brain or anomalous damage Approval was granted for Agent Newman to be submitted as a "patient" along with the majority of his material not required for future tests to increase the amount of data it can reference when creating a solution that results in a successful revival.
When presented with the pod containing Newman, it begins the biodata scanning process before ████ error messages appear over the course of 0.21 seconds on the translation terminal connected to its main operational chamber. It halts the scan immediately and takes the pod with it before shutting off all two-way communication systems. The reconstruction takes notably longer than previous tests, with the resulting 108-1 instance being completed 9 days after the previous longest development cycle. This instance does bear a resemblance to Newman, though notably larger in build and it remains unresponsive to external stimuli well past the typical 45 minute acclimation window. However, the presence of a detectable energy signature along with a steady respiration rate points to evidence that metabolic processes are able to be maintained and the body is moved to a separate observation room for further analysis.
The instance continues to remain in an effectively comatose state for an additional 17 hours before significant movement is detected, they were then observed standing up and moving towards the door with some difficulty before attempting to grab at something at their hip* before noticing the condition of their mechanical arms and appearing to become distressed at the sight. Despite initial difficulties understanding his condition, Newman has been willing to cooperate over the last five months when asked to attend physical therapy, speech therapy and all other company mandated sessions to understand how to manage his new form, for all intents and purposes he has also been improving at a rate faster than predicted in some areas and is highly likely to be cleared for field work again within the next few weeks if his progress is maintained.

The mechanisms behind this phenomenon aren't fully understood due to Newman's unique condition challenging typical understanding of energy control and transference for carbon-based lifeforms. Newman is authorised to activate the experimental material scanning software installed in his mechanical eye replacements in conjunction with the high-volume energy reformatting pins inserted into key locations along the inner sides of his plating in order to rapidly funnel power into the creation of a high-speed projectile attuned to a frequency designed to negate the effectiveness of defensive manoeuvres the target would make against it.
Results gathered from simulated versions of this protocol suggest the potential for this construct to be highly disruptive to the structure of objects or entities outside of the designated target. The collision causing total destruction or significant internal damage in ██.██% of cases due to the energy dissipating in a manner capable of vibrating, separating or otherwise moving foreign particles due to their inherently incompatible wavelengths.

Based on samples taken post and pre-reconstruction, the majority of Newman’s remaining organic tissue has effectively liquified into a homogenous mass with a dark pink colouration. Time at start of incident: 12:23
At 12:23 a previously undetected fault in the power grid cuts off power to the containment cell of ███-789, due to the highly destructive nature of the entity and its hostility towards sentient lifeforms, a response unit composed of Newman, Roche and Yatto are dispatched to the area with Psyche-suppressant units in order to temporarily pacify 789 until proper containment measures can be reestablished. The team approaches the chamber at 12:29, Newman is directed to remain at the entrance with the first suppressor and establish the field while Roshe and Yatto enter the room and attempt to move the other units into position.
Note: The following sequence of events is reconstructed from live camera feeds and evidence gathered after 789 is returned to containment due to total communication breakdown between the response team and command.
In response to Newman activating his unit, 789 immediately enters an agitated state and sends out a wave of psionic energy, communication lost with Yatto and Roche as their bodies ██████████████ on the camera feed, they are declared deceased.
Newman is observed backing out of the chamber, his sense of balance appears disrupted and he declines or is unable to respond to multiple vocal commands sent through his communicator before appearing to collapse*. ██ seconds pass before movement is made and he attempts to crawl down the hall, dark stains visible on the floor as he moves further from the containment area. Continued movement appears to accelerate previous symptoms and portions of Newman's body lose structural cohesion or become fully separated from the central mass. The rapid decline of his condition eventually forces Newman to completely cease movement shortly after.
*Due to being shielded behind the only active suppressor, Newman is theorised to have been experiencing a weakened variant of 789’s ability with a delayed onset.
Power is able to be reconnected to the area █ minutes after this event, 789 does not move from its containment cell due to effectively being pacified after the successful absorption of the other two agents.
Originally assumed deceased, Newman's remains would have been sent to an anomalous waste disposal area so they could be dealt with according to protocol. However, initial onsite examination displayed weakened energy signals detectable even in sections of fully transformed tissue along with diminished brain activity. This revelation had Newman's body along with other tissue samples instead relocated to a cryopreservation chamber so they can be kept for further analysis or potential revival operations.
POST-INCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION AND UPDATED PERFORMANCE REVIEW

After previous tests had allowed 108 to showcase its abilities to work on subjects experiencing variations on forms of tissue, brain or anomalous damage Approval was granted for Agent Newman to be submitted as a "patient" along with the majority of his material not required for future tests to increase the amount of data it can reference when creating a solution that results in a successful revival.
When presented with the pod containing Newman, it begins the biodata scanning process before ████ error messages appear over the course of 0.21 seconds on the translation terminal connected to its main operational chamber. It halts the scan immediately and takes the pod with it before shutting off all two-way communication systems. The reconstruction takes notably longer than previous tests, with the resulting 108-1 instance being completed 9 days after the previous longest development cycle. This instance does bear a resemblance to Newman, though notably larger in build and it remains unresponsive to external stimuli well past the typical 45 minute acclimation window. However, the presence of a detectable energy signature along with a steady respiration rate points to evidence that metabolic processes are able to be maintained and the body is moved to a separate observation room for further analysis.
The instance continues to remain in an effectively comatose state for an additional 17 hours before significant movement is detected, they were then observed standing up and moving towards the door with some difficulty before attempting to grab at something at their hip* before noticing the condition of their mechanical arms and appearing to become distressed at the sight. Talking them out of this state took approximately an hour as communication was hindered by their lack of knowledge on how to speak with their vocal implants, but eventually a consensus was reached where they would be willing to leave the room quietly in exchange for taking part in an official briefing.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW
Despite initial difficulties understanding his condition, Newman has been willing to cooperate over the last five months when asked to attend physical therapy, speech therapy and all other company mandated sessions to understand how to manage his new form, for all intents and purposes he has also been improving at a rate faster than predicted in some areas and is highly likely to be cleared for field work again within the next few weeks if his progress is maintained.
However, it has also been noted that during this period his behaviour has deviated from how people knew him before his injury, referring to his current attitude as "unconventional" or "unprofessional in some cases. While this is not a pressing issue in need of correction, it is advised that he be closely monitored for further behavioural oddities.

This allows Newman to perform feats of strength on par with naturally occuring ki-proficiency while his implants are provided with a theoretically unlimited supply of power unless critical system failure or a dramatic drop in energy output were to occur.

The mechanisms behind this phenomenon aren't fully understood due to Newman's unique condition challenging typical understanding of energy control and transference for carbon-based lifeforms. However, it is believed that by exerting additional force on the source of his energy, he can increase his output by approximately ██% until the increased power drainage becomes impossible to maintain or he manually returns his output to within normal operating parameters. It has been observed that prolonged use of this ability can cause Newman's core temperature to increase by a range of 2-4°C if his cooling systems are not operating at full efficiency in addition to an average ██% decrease in reaction time. Newman reports increased levels of fatigue during and after this process until his systems are able to reestablish homeostasis.
*Max Power is activated as the first action on your post. While active, it increases the power of all your techniques by +10% and drains 1 MP per post at the start of each turn. You cannot gain MP unless a trait generates it. You cannot use Evasive or Escape techniques, nor can you block escapes or defend others while active. Heavy Sparking || EX-O1: Neutralisation Protocol "Hot Sniper"
Newman is authorised to activate the experimental material scanning software installed in his mechanical eye replacements in conjunction with the high-volume energy reformatting pins inserted into key locations along the inner sides of his plating in order to rapidly funnel power into the creation of a high-speed projectile attuned to a frequency designed to negate the effectiveness of defensive manoeuvres the target would make against it.
Results gathered from simulated versions of this protocol suggest the potential for this construct to be highly disruptive to the structure of objects or entities outside of the designated target. The collision causing total destruction or significant internal damage in ██.██% of cases due to the energy dissipating in a manner capable of vibrating, separating or otherwise moving foreign particles due to their inherently incompatible wavelengths.
For this reason Newman is advised to exercise caution when choosing to engage hostiles in this manner in order to minimise collateral damage. Additionally he is limited to one attempted shot due to the high energy load and subsequent output bearing increased risks to his more fragile organic internals or increasing the chance that mechanical parts may become dislodged when moving between states to maximise energy effectiveness.

Examination of the region corresponding with Newman’s larynx reveals heavy reconstruction of the area. The majority of tissue previously estimated to have suffered significant degradation from extended exposure to 789’s abilities has been removed or displaced to create space for a module designed to produce a range of frequencies that can be manipulated to create vocalisations akin to those of organic life, or short bursts of high or low frequency sound outside of the typical range perceivable by humans.
Newman has adapted to using this module faster than previous estimates presented and currently displays a high proficiency in creating or mimicking* a variety of speech patterns, with more limited success in recreating the calls of various non-sentient species. An as of yet to be determined issue with this system appears to prevent the recreation of the typical vocal range Newman possessed pre-IN-789_041223, though he has settled on a “preferred” voice for the majority of work-related interactions.**
*Newman has received several requests to stop imitating the voices of fellow staff. Concerns have also been raised that this has the potential to be disruptive in the case of security breaches with mimic-type entities and an increase in false reports.
**Potential limitation of the interface or psychological barrier in place, recommend that regular examinations are to be continued until cause is determined.
Utility Technique || Non-Centralised Biology
Based on samples taken post and pre-reconstruction, the majority of Newman’s remaining organic tissue has effectively liquified into a homogenous mass with a dark pink colouration. Its full properties have yet to be determined, however, when inside the specialised environment of his shell it can be made to carry out functions in line with the original structures it was derived from, primarily aiding his mechanical systems in oxygen distribution, energy transfer, breaking down nutrients and other processes required to maintain his body in its current condition.
An unintended feature of this system is damage directed at zones associated with organs on a typical human's anatomy are unable to significantly hinder Newman's physical abilities unless areas are removed entirely, receive damage that disables their range of motion or organic matter is removed or "bled" at a rate that cannot be replenished before the drop internal pressure causes temporary paralysis or a loss of consciousness due to a low energy or oxygen supply.
Newman's brain is currently considered to be exempt from this and damage or destruction of the organ will continue to remain a possible option if neutralisation is necessary.
(TL;DR Hoss can technically withstand injuries that would be considered "extreme" if taken by a member of another species since certain critical functions are no longer carried out by a single organ. However, he is still vulnerable to "blood" loss, brain damage and the natural build up of damage that other species are.)
