Homeward Bound

Of course Nasu had not the slightest idea that he was monitored to that extent, and even if he knew he would feel rather pleased somewhat. But it was true that in a certain way he kept his own tabs always on Cheri, he looked back over the horizon somewhat, trying to figure out just the rather curious curve this planet had taken in the latest months. War, fear, battle, all of it there was like a complete and total nonsense of hatred that was left spilled over after the latest hundred years or so, and well, while he could not be here for the entirety of it, he witnessed such a good portion that it was strange to look around and see just the norm.

Things that he would end up seeing on other worlds as well. It was good. It felt like they had some sense, as if each and every piece had finally managed to yield some result, like it was not all for nothing. With one more smile, he shut his eyes and could feel the telepathic line string back much like a guitar cord, his very nostrils exhaled a great deal.

It felt good to hear her voice.

Or was it really her voice, more like her thoughts. But, same thing, right?

"Hah. We will have to double check then."

Before long, his own eyes had widened before he began to try and look around, his own senses began to trace her back. But well, he had no clue what was going on, apparently there was some kind of... exhibition? It looked like an important moment, but per se he figured that he could press her on for further details once he would have her right in front of him. The man thus nodded and his own silhouette began to take off.

"If that's so, well I can come to you and you can come to me. Can't wait to see you again."

The swordsman began floating off in Cheri's own direction, his own smile intertwined with the sights that he saw around the city, and one glance off towards the massive displays every now and then.

And so the swordsman began to well, race through the city, more or less, given the fact that he was up in the air, he did not have much traffic ahead either as most simply avoided somebody floating in full armor with a massive sword. He looked around and only to realize that indeed at this point they could find themselves about anywhere, which could have greatly influenced part of the time they would have spent together this evening. He did indeed consider this chance, but, again, the man was simple enough in the manner that he did not care what they would have ended up doing, he just wanted to see Cheri. So, well, hopefully it would have been a pleasant night for sure, but for him seeing her was plenty already.

"Hmmm. Let's see."

Nasu looked down below, and then once more up in the air as he tried to more or less estimate the remaining distance from Cheri, he could feel her very energy nearing closer so he assumed that she was already on the move, and well, from where he started, if he was to do some simple math and massive amounts of approximation, he figured that he was about half way by now, therefore his body began to free fall through the sky only to slow down the closer he got to the ground and finally land on both feet.

Now, if he was to look around he could spot a park, and a nice looking structure, clean and well, not too packed, but with a few people here and there sat on their seats while they waited for their food to arrive. What was it? A restaurant but of what kind? He looked, but his attention span was interrupted while his eyes scanned the whereabouts to see if he could spot Cheri.

The swordsman suddenly felt a voice tap against his attention, and before long he turned around just to finally catch a glimpse of the sight he had yearned to see for so long finally. To see her it was like something that was not actually related to keeping the worlds safe, and anyone's best interests, had finally come to him. Something that was still part of Nasu, the person, not the figure that he had become throughout the latest few years. He could finally just let his shoulders feel relaxed, for once, and not having to keep up any weight whatsoever.

"I have been wanting to see you for so long now."

He replied right back at her, indeed a heartful smile had come to his features. In seeing her, he could manage to show a side of him that was left bare of any and all concerns without any need to really keep up any image or whatnot, it was just him and her. He did of course lower himself to embrace her fully, and well, even though he could she was still a tad reserved due to them standing in the middle of nowhere- and well, it was likely not the best idea to observe their own Chancellor in anything past that, therefore he just tried to comply with the instructions that he felt upon himself, returning the hug by his own hands upon her back, keeping her close and returning the kiss to her.

"Ahh, well, I figured you were almost here. So I thought I would stop here."

Nasu finally eyed the place and gave it a better look, she did praise his choice, or in this case at least the chance that fate had blessed them with such a fine place to begin with, even though he believed that most places here were rather well made.

"I do not know, you can hardly go wrong in this city. It feels like there is plenty for most. But, looks like we have ourselves a very good place this time."

That he would at least believe from its inviting look given the presence of wood, something that Nasu was very used to given most taverns back on his world were built with either stone or wooden planks. It was not perfect but he did not blame them for not accommodating his size, it was definitely rare for a Saiyan to walk in a place like this most likely, given the state of his average kinsman here. But that was not an issue for Nasu.

Indeed, soon his eyes became akin to fire almost, and in a matter of moments it was as if he suddenly shrunk without any need for an actual transformation, only a brief flash that left behind ashes that dissipated into nothingness right after. Thus he had gone down from seven feet, to four feet, something more akin for a Tuffle most likely. Besides that, everything else had shrunk together with him, given both his armor and sword were made out of his own soul, they followed suit, while nothing else about him changed past proportions and whatnot.

Therefore he proceeded to sit in front of Cheri at the table, apparently untroubled by the size difference. But indeed struck back from the introduction of something she introduced; quantum paper. The word itself paper was well, just that, paper. Something that he could very well relate to, and imagine in his own mind. Now, if you were to speak of quantum, well that was a whole other deal. Just the word alone was indeed abstract. It was not difficult, of course, by no means he would mean to say something like that. But Nasu did not have the slightest idea what he could picture it as.

"Quantum... paper."

He repeated, of course the term quantum was not new to him, by the time he spent with all these scientists here, he had heard it a bunch of times. Did he know what it was? Nah, of course not. There was no reason that a wandering swordsman, that for all the things he knew and arts he had mastered by now, well, that he needed to know what a quantum was- such a part of our universe that was definitely something that he could have done something with, or perhaps that he could harness but on a level outside of his own misunderstanding, but ultimately the concept itself definitely escaped him. But well, given the fact that there was a link, he could think of it this way, it was almost like reflecting things off or mirroring them rather. That made it a tad easier to imagine what was going on, at least. But, well he looked over the sheet of paper and simply went along with what she said. Apparently all he needed to do was write his order.

"Oh alright, then. I will order something like..."

Of course came the question whether or not they had something more apt to a Saiyan's appetite, but truth be told, that was mostly a need to keep up his strength that likely required a higher nutrition value than what a Tuffle probably needed. Still, it was true that he preferred those kind of meals as well, but in the end Nasu was very likely to even digest rocks if he needed to, so that was not the problem at all. From what he could see, alongside the technological advancements of the table, there were also menus and listings so that he could actually figure out something to eat.

"Probably this."

He began to write down a list of things, such as the mass of meat, the lager, but also a soup of various vegetables, akin to a stew, and slices of bread that he could use to make all of it richer. Of course it was perhaps more akin to an appetizer for him, but in any case he wrote down the last of his stuff, and motioned towards Cheri.

"What will you have?"

The Saiyan put the pen down, but he did not notice if she had already ordered or not.

By far Nasu could hardly hide the smile, he did not think about it but yeah, it would have been the first time perhaps she would have witnessed him use magic like that. Given most of that was pretty recent stuff, or well, maybe she had seen some of it during the Hatchi attacks given well, he had a lot of dragonic magic up his sleeve as well. He could hardly remember every single moment in that battle, though, but surely as a feat this was at least rather useful.

When she inquired how he had managed to pick up a trick like that, though, well, it was... an interesting story to explain. It was a complete cycle throughout the path he walked on his training as a tutor, and even now, he wondered just to what extent he could bring it. But if anything he had grown into the role, if only the fact that there was not a line of egregious brave souls at his doorstep ready to be trained.

So, well, of course for now he did not get to pass on his knowledge more than he already did not as he would commonly guide the younger generation.

"Oh, in a few words you could say I got these powers from getting nearly burned into a furnace. Like... a magical furnace that connects the dead and the living."

That was the short version. If anything that episode gave him the kindling fire that he had to feed through his training to master its several aspects. But well, it was of course going to be a tough topic to explain, in any case he did not quite notice much of a look from Cheri except for a split second. Of course Nasu had not the slightest idea, but that was kind of the best part about his honesty, he just did things with a good heart. Nevermind that the guys here had a lot of work to do to work his order, but he figured that they would have been fine, and he had no rush.

Now, however, even a timer? Well, that was quick. Just one flat minute for all that stuff. These guys were really impressive. Compared to other places like Earth at least most restaurants, bars or whatever usually took an ungodly amount of time to deliver much.

"Probably not a whole lot. But we can at least begin and we can pick up from where we left off before we get interrupted by the waiter- or whatever brings us the food. Not sure if there is a teleporter or something. It has been some busy few months. I would not even know where to begin. I think shortly after Hatchi got attacked, again, I think I went off to Namek... was it? Yeah, pretty sure it was there. Ended up having to witness some weird political clan tensions or something."

He commented, unwilling to just dump too much stuff onto the conversation and instead giving her some space to talk as well.

Of course, the concept alone was... interesting to say the least. A magical furnace, to begin with was something that likely would not make much sense unless it had some kind of crafting or brewing purpose, besides it would likely come to the imagination as an object rather small in size. Something that it was not, given the fact that it was a massive building standing in a remote region of the planet.

"Well, yeah. To some extent. They call it furnace, but it is actually a huge chamber. Probably bigger than many of the palaces here. Imagine like a massive box in the middle of nowhere that is constantly burning with flames except you can not see any source, as if they have been burning forever."

And well, of course it was a rather strange occurrence as to how he had apparently managed to earn a certain set of powers from sitting there. But he looked right back at Cheri and widened his eyes, he put a hand to his chin, but well, as much as he wished he knew, not even him with his newfound knowledge of the Otherworld, had a real answer as to the history of that place.

"Hah, well, thankfully in my case I managed to remain unscathed. More or less. After about a week or so sitting there, when I woke up because some guy found me there- I awake with a fiery vision. I did not understand at first, but well, in short I can see plenty more than just ki now. I could see people's souls."

He stated shortly, and of course it was a tad difficult to give the full extent of this, and he would have needed to also explain to Cheri what exactly he had been doing, given he was often in the Otherworld, but he needed to figure out a way to explain it. He wished for privacy on a global extent, but that did not apply to Cheri, he trusted her to keep his secrets.

"This all began after I journeyed to the Otherworld. And there is actually a whole lot I want to tell you about it, but it might be a bit difficult to believe some of it. It is... insane, to say the least."

He said before eventually being interrupted by the waiter, that brought the food and stuff that they had ordered. It was an android, nonetheless things were mostly made automatic on this world, so he was not surprised. He tilted his head slightly before eventually he turned back around to look at Cheri.

"Namek? Oh, you should visit. Sometimes I do just because it is that peaceful. But it is rather advanced when it comes to society, culture. A few years ago when I had disappeared after that whole Rosemary business, I had spent a few weeks there as their people helped me recover. They are not nearly as technological as the Tuffles, but they make up for it with their magic abilities. Besides got some cool friends there, even the Saiyans there are pretty nice."

He looked back upon her while of course his hands were already getting dirty with the amount of food he was seemingly consuming without anyone even noticing, and yet he managed to stay... clean? It was like this guy had mastered the art of eating, but perhaps that was something more akin to the Saiyans and their inhuman ability to process all of that. Eventually you would likely end up that skilled when you eat all the time.

"Hmm! Well. I doubt that's not interesting at all, there is actually a lot we still need to figure out. I think we made a lot of progress culturally and socially so far. By no means is it similar to the way things were years ago for sure, but we have still got a long way to go. I might even be able to help to restore the planet if we get that far now. Even though my methods would be more mystical, maybe we could somehow figure out how to use them both to get the extra benefit."

He furrowed his brow a bit about Amara. Well, she did state wanting to keep the distance but he was no less worried about her. Even if she did not care for the kind of connection, she was of course important plenty to the Saiyan too.

"I am sorry about that. But she is young, and outstandingly intelligent like her mother. I have no doubt she will get better. She was incredible that day when we fought off the invasion. No doubt if she was not there, we would not be here today, or at least not in a city that looks like this."

Even with all the Super Saiyan power that he had received she was by far a blessing by the Gods, maybe he should try and reach out? Hard to tell, she could potentially not appreciate it very much given she had already asked not to establish a connection even if he was dating her mom. But well exactly, her mom was here.

"Do you think there is anything we can do for Amara? She did plenty for me, too. She helped me stay quiet and under the radar after I also ascended and fought Lottus."

Of course it was probably a tough question. Technically even Cheri did not spend that much time with Amara before given the way things used to be years ago? Unless he misunderstood. But in any case, if there was anything they could do, it was the best choice to also figure it out with her.

"The Sadalan Restoration Plan, well. I think by now the idea has spread far and wide. Last I checked I think most if not all would like to actually see it happen, but the amount of work is probably something that will require a while. But, hey, we put the foundations at least. That's what matters. What about the Revitalisation plan?"

Well, it was not unlike Nasu having to deal with the most outlandish things as of late. As of like the past few years, he met all kinds of weird people ranging from benevolent Shinjin to eldritch demons, or whatever else. It was peculiar just how weird things could get, which was why he suggested those that would take his wisdom, to travel and meet new people. It was that kind of experience that truly made someone rich, in a different way of course.

"Yeah. It is called the Furnace of Eight Divisions. I think most of its known history would be written in Earthling legends given that's where you can find it. I admit I am not familiar with its history right now, though. Kind of. I have heard something from the locals there. Some say the ancients used it to craft medicines and other things they would digest to improve their health and condition. I am not really sure whether or not any of it is real, though. But none of them there could tell me how that worked. I assume it must be some kind of a lost art at this point."

He believed some of it was tied to an older religion, perhaps. But again most of it was just kind of what he could gather from the people of that area, only talks and information that he could only pick with a grain of salt, but well in this case it appeared the flames had done Nasu a better service.

"I was challenged by somebody in the Otherworld to sit in there for a time without burning alive. Purely because it was their only condition they would help out a friend in distress. In the midst of all that fire I could not really see anything, so I sought somewhere I could sit. After a while, not sure how long, I believe I found a place where the flames would barely graze me. There was also a lot of wind. But I guess all that wind stirred up the smoke, and it must have gotten in my eyes. Since then I have these fiery eyes that I activate at will. Kind of. At first I could not, until I learned how to."

Flashback to a few moments prior to shrinking when his eyes flashed.

But well, that was indeed just the tip of the iceberg, having to explain the entire Otherworld business was strange and surprisingly long in a way. Not to mention that it was something far removed from most living beings, so there was an additional barrier when it came to understanding its essence. But he could pretty much sum it up in short.

"There are certain figures in the Otherworld. There is King Yemma; the judge of all the dead. He is the one that sends the dead to their rightful place. Whether it is Heaven or Hell. Then you have the Supreme Kai, but I have personally never met that one. It would be the Shinjin higher up, but I think they stay out of reach, as I believe no one really knows what they are like."

He leaned forward a bit, arms folded and resting upon the table. While he did not seem to care whether or not anyone listened in, as they would likely believe he was insane, he did at least try with more of a hushed tone, an element of discretion if you would, that was not too 'discrete' to catch anyone's eye.

"And then there are three more figures that have been vacant for a while. Instructors of the dead that aim to teach very few privileged souls that were found to have done great things in their past lives. I was chosen to train those that end up in Heaven. Most of the reasons I have new abilities to begin with, is because of my own training there I have undergone to make sure I would be fitting for the role they gave me."

Of course even now Nasu did not truly know what led the ones up there choose him. He only knew he was chosen, but that was not something that he could truly have an opinion upon, if that was their call well he found it to be a honor to begin with and besides, he could try and shape up some people that could keep up with this galaxy's problems without having to lose his own mind about having to be everywhere at once. Especially as of late it felt very true.

"It's not really a secret, but you are the only one I told any of this to... mostly because it is probably best people do not know right off the bat that somebody might be there to teach them cool stuff if they die. It is more of a privilege for those few that actually earn it."

But well, while it was pretty unbelievable and a lot of it was kind of all depending on her ability to trust Nasu. He did not really feel that scared that she would not believe him, he knew she would believe him, just like he would believe her if it was her telling this stuff. Rather he was surprised he managed to actually recap it all given how much information it was, but apparently he managed to do just that, hopefully. Since he was not the one that got to decide whether or not what he said was understandable.

He sipped the lager to clear his throat shortly, between that and a few more lines of conversation he would keep eating, drenching the bread in the soup and tossing it into his mouth. Nasu was oddly discrete unlike most Saiyans when eating, but the amount of eating he did was not unlike any of their species, he just did not make a whole mess but was quick enough to literally tear meat to shreds in instants. And he did not even look that focused on it while he did it, it was like his body moved on its own.

"Hmm."

The swordsman looked at her when she provided the destron example. Well, the way his magic worked was rather complicated to describe out of nowhere. It was based off several principles of reality as they knew it surmised under the very elements that made up reality and nature to begin with, so it was not just any single ability. It was like a whole different understanding of what each element did, and his own application of it, but really given the fact that they were universal truths, in some cases, another person could have potentially have found a different application even if they were to follow Nasu's path. But yes, if he had to answer a question of that kind, first things first he nodded his head.

"Yes. I can interact with nature to purify it from ailments, or enhance it even. For example if you planted a seed I could speed up its growth. However this does not work on people. Healing people is an even more advanced skill that I have not had time to learn so far, and it is incredibly complex. Many of those that can actually do it either have to rely on a trinket to do so or are born with the ability."

He took another sip before he looked at her once more. There was no shadow a doubt to him that in the end he could treat destron with his abilities, except for the one issue that he could not remove it from a person. He could do... a different kind of healing with people, but that was more akin to splitting evil from a person than anything else. Or a different kind of entity. Destron poisoning fell under the umbrella of healing people to him, something that he could not actively do at the moment.

"So yeah, destron is something I would be able to purify. I am very confident on that."

When it came to Amara, well he supposed he was in agreement with her. Involving the figure of a mother was already something that at Amara's age was probably something that she would not appreciate since there's always that rebellious phase where most kids have to feel independent from their parents. He trusted Amara to get better, but he would have liked if he could actually do something to help her out. But her logic was sound, so he nodded his head and would hope for the better right now.

The idea that destron could no longer be a problem on Plant was definitely something that would greatly advance the state of this world, to the point where things could at least start to get even better than they were not already. But, it was still only a chance, not a certainty just yet, but he nodded with a confident smile.

"You can count on me. Either for my newfound powers, or well, if some fool tries to get in the way I will smack them back where they belong."
