Gira sat in her bed in the underground living quarters of Saiyagirl Tower, fiddling with the scouter that had been graciously given to her by Ticoga. In preparation for her upcoming tournament, which she had decided to call "The Tournament of Glory," the young hero wanted to give the arenas something of a "stress test." Failure of any of the preventative systems could result in the destruction of her tower and could also result in the tournament's participants getting hurt. While the other arenas had been stress tested by Gira personally and they passed to her satisfaction, she was still a bit concerned about the grand arena at the very top of the tower, which Kaci had lovingly christened "The Apex."
It was large enough for the most powerful participants in the tournament to have plenty of room to play, and the forcefield was supposedly strong enough to tank a nuke with ease. At least, that was the idea according to Kaci. Gira herself wasn't sure, however, so she wanted to give it a real test, something she couldn't do on her own. Her mind immediately went to Russ. He was one of the strongest people she knew, and he would be the perfect partner for this test. Not to mention that Gira wanted to take him on for quite some time, especially after seeing his performance in Central City. That was why she was here, in her personal apartments, growing increasingly frustrated as she tried to remember the instructions Kaci gave her regarding proper use of her scouter's features.
"So... I just... hit this?" Gira pressed several buttons as the scouter sat on her face, each one giving her a different function. All of them except for the one she was after.
"Damn this stupid thing!" Gira aggressively pressed some more buttons, but it took her a second to realize that she had already called Russ. When she noticed his name on the display, however, she paused and blushed with embarrassment.
"O-Oh... hey, Russ. Um... ignore that. I was just having some... technical difficulties. No big deal. But, hey! Hope you're doing alright! I just finished building my super mega awesome hero base! It's tucked away in the Gizard Wasteland. Its got all sorts of cool training rooms and battle arenas! Come on by and i'll show you around. I kinda need your help with something, too. Afterwards, I can show my thanks by rustling us up something good to eat! So, yeah, bring your appetite if that sounds good to you!" Gira cleared her throat, hoping that Russ didn't hear too much of her frustration from earlier.
