CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: Standing at an even 5’4”, Avalan is easily recognizable due to her asymmetrical horns and striking yellow eyes. Everything she does, from the way she moves, to the way she speaks, is utterly gentle and airy, giving off the impression that she is nothing but kind. However, there are times when her warm expressions crack and reveal a bitter underside.

BACKGROUND: The recently inaugurated President of the Nilas Construction & Mining Company, or Nilas Co., inheriting the position from her late father. A kind smile and open arms lead those in need to Nilas Co., offering construction and housing services to those who need it at low prices, as the company supplies its own materials. The company’s reach extends to the entirety of the Arcosian Empire, allowing refugees and those in remote planets a chance to make themselves at home.
Avalan was born and raised in luxury, and thus has never needed to do so much as glance towards the military. However, she does have her interests in it - with Arcose’s past, present, and future, as well as Nilas Co. indirectly benefiting from war, it would be difficult for any Arcosian in her position to completely ignore a business that so heavily dominated her planet’s history. As such, Avalan worked her hardest to link her family’s company to Arcosian values, planting the company as a means of retaining the empire and providing sanctuary to all citizens.
Despite being raised by parents with the purest intentions, however, it’s unclear just how someone as twisted as Avalan came to be. Ownership of Nilas Co. allowed Avalan to profit fully off of those in need, hiding her intentions behind her father’s legacy and unkept promises. In order to maximize profits, clients would be forced to pay extra or help with supplying building materials, repaying their ‘debts.’ As war dies down, and the galaxy grows peaceful once again, Nilas Co.’s exploitation of people in need grows more in order to make up for lost money.
When the Arcosian Emperor evacuates his citizens from Arcose, Nilas Co. once again gains a foothold in the situation - aiding in the relocation of citizens and pressuring them into paying a steep price. And the public remains none the wiser, admiring President Avalan for taking such burdens for the people.
