Meara's eyes narrowed ever so slightly at Komashitsu, the tone the ancient being was giving off felt pointedly rude and the Faun was far from amused by the display. But there was no point in getting heated over an attitude, if that were the case Meara would have found herself on the receiving end of a lot more fists than she managed to. Whether this was noteworthy or more a reason to question her own attitude towards others. Whatever the case, the entity's explanation was not entirely unfounded... the obelisk had been designed as an aspect of purity and could manage the weaker members of the Lamellar bloodlines. Leaning back on her staff, the bones and detritus fell away from Meara as her own power diminished to a more calm state to those able to sense it. Her attention initially on Kim's puppeted body, the roaming form of Rhuba distracted her momentarily. Her brow furrowed as the Saiyan expressed no clear understanding of what she had just explained in the least complicated way possible. She chose to not try and explain it further, rather let Rhuba speak his peace and reply however felt necessary given the context of the situation. "The forces manipulated and channeled by the people of this land, of these bloodlines are tied to the Mother." Lifting her staff, Meara points the verdant gem to the obelisk, the gem taking on a silver colour for the briefest of moments. "It is by Her blessing that we are able to weave the throes of magic and shape the world around us." Meara suspends the staff horizontally in the air and takes a seat. her eyes narrowed as she focused on Rhuba. "You would need to placate Mother Moon and earn a blessing to use it as we do." Then plucking at the air, the Faun pulls a thick ribbon from nowhere, a binding thread between Komashitsu and the poppet she held in her hand. "This, on the other hand, comes from IT. And I wouldn't teach it if I could." Meara found herself raising her eyebrow at Rhuba's compliment as well, crossing her dappled legs. "Your definition of cool is... interesting. But I'll take the compliment, after all an idol has to remain white cute or we can't keep a career." A coy smirk of vanity crossed the Faun's lips for all of a moment before she shifted her attention back to Komashitsu once more. "As for why I am here..." Meara trailed off for a moment, thumbing the folded paper in her hands before drawing a deep sigh and nodding to herself. "Our favorite... thing left something for me." Placing the note on the altar before the obelisk she weighted it down with a few rocks. "I had hoped to inquire with the elders here as to the meaning... but as fortune would have it, the oldest 'living' member of the clan is right here." Meara glanced up at the entity residing in Kim's body with a mix of sarcasm and disdain. Written on the note were the words: Bordered by the sanguine sky. The ruins of a time gone by. A reminder of what's lost. To the Splintered King. "He seeks the Lord's blood. The key to His Shattered Lands." - Corrisandra, The Cruel "Does he accept the costs of this desire? All is list to those that seek passage." - Miranda, The Kind "I have lost all, and with nothing left to submit. His court is all I desire." - Anthon Calvus Act 1, Scene 4 "The Sanguine Key" |
